Chapter 16 - Everyone's Here (End of Volume 1 Part 1 - 1/3)
"Alright, everyone is here," Nawaki clapped his hands together, making Decimo looked up from the storybook, towards the door at the parade of people coming inside. Starting from Uchiha side were the newlyweds Fugaku Uchiha and Mikoto Uchiha. The two of them were especially happy, since Fugaku has been a bit down since the death of his friend during the war.
Though others had been there for him, that made it easier, but mainly it was knowing the fact that Mikoto was pregnant. And the most envious and happy was Kushina and Hayami, who were right behind her. One of the newer additions to their ranks was Kushina's boyfriend, who usually fought on the front lines, and was starting to make a name for himself, Minato Namikaze.
The boy with blonde hair and the kind smile on his face was one of the most talented fighters that the village had. If there was anything that held him back was the amount of chakra that he possessed, but that was what he was counting on. The next group to arrive were the Hyuga Brothers, who were the inspiration behind the sealing technique that he had mastered. And one of the main reasons why he called them here.
Along with Nonou and Nawaki. His eyes went towards Fugaku and Minato, and a number left his lips, "Three."
Minato was already nervous coming here, but he felt his stomach tie up into a knot. There were only a few people who ever saw Decimo fight, and Minato was one of them. For years, he had imaged being up against the force that he saw years ago, but he always felt he was short of that level, "Sir Three?"
"There are exactly three of you here who could reach the point that they would make wars redundant," Decimo honestly answered. He had an idea how the little group he was putting together was being perceived on the outside. The Clans-Pro organisation who wanted to preserve their power and not fight in the war. There was a high chance that Minato was here only because of Third Hokage's order, who wanted to keep an eye on them and know what they were doing meeting like this. That is why he wanted to make it clear what they were doing.
"Make wars redundant?" Minato scratched the back of his head, looking towards the love of his life, Kushina, who shrugged. She wasn't clear where her sensei was talking about, so like her usual self, she asked.
"Sensei, do you have fever," Kushina walked over to him, touching his forehead when he rolled his eyes, pulling on her ear, and she started screaming.
"Ow, ow, ow! Sorry! You don't have a fever! I am sorry!"
"Sit," Decimo ordered her like she was a puppy, and she sat down beside him, lowering her head, rubbing her ear. Her mischievous eyes looked towards her boyfriend, who let out a wry smile.
"Sir, what did you mean by making wars redundant?" Minato curiously asked, looking around the living room, which didn't seem too much of a place for a secret meeting since most Ninja could hear, but then his eyes were stuck to the walls, seeing seals appear every minute or so since he come here. They didn't attract much attention, and if they weren't in front of his eyes, then he wouldn't have noticed.
"When the war first started, Third Hokage came to me, asking for more of Uchiha Forces, and Family Economic Reach to help Konoha in the war that started," Decimo leaned back on the couch, following Hayami who stood up and went inside, making him curl his lips. He wasn't much into girls have to bring the food and drinks when there is a meeting, if he weren't talking then he would have or if he wanted to offer then he would have asked Nawaki, but what pleased him was that she was trying to please him.
He shifted his eyes towards them, mainly Minato, since he did let the surprise, he felt show on his face. The others were like they had expected the Third to ask that, and Minato had heard it from Kushina, even Third Hokage once hinted him to ask Kushina to put in a word for him, but he refused then. What did startle him a little was that Decimo was so open about it.
"I refused then. My reason was that one of the planners of Army's strategy was a guy like Danzo Shimura, who never let any chance to put Uchiha Family down go. And I have my doubts that he was behind many men of Uchiha Family who did participate in the war."
"Sir, don't you think that idea is a bit too extreme? I get why you would say that," Minato awkwardly said. He wished that the things wouldn't go in the worst direction possible, and the only way for that to happen was talk Decimo down.
"Hm," Decimo smiled at Minato, and he gave a look to Fugaku, who, with some reluctance took out the scroll. If it was up to Fugaku, then he wouldn't tell this secret to anyone other than the next head of the family, and he wasn't even sure how Decimo knew it, but he knew and Fugaku couldn't hide it anymore.
He threw the scroll towards Minato, who looked towards the Hyuga Brothers, Kushina, Mikoto, Nawaki and Nonou, but none of them seem to have any idea what this was about. He carefully opened the scroll, reading the Jutsu written on it. His lips parted for a moment, and he closed it. He questioningly looked towards Fugaku, "that's…true?"
"Yes. It was knowledge that was sealed when, in Sengoku Period, the knowledge of this Justu nearly destroyed the Uchiha Clan from the inside."
Decimo asked for the scroll back, "Did you know? What is under the bandages that Danzo wears on his Right Eye?"
"What…no," Minato was leaning forward to respectfully give him the scroll, and he didn't think much of it, but then a thought cross his mind. The scroll nearly slipped from his fingers, and he lunged forward, catching it, falling on his knees. He furrowed his brows before he got on his feet, passing the scroll to Fugaku, "how do you know?"
"The knowledge of this Justu. Not even the elders had it. Only the last Head of the Clan head it. You could say it started out of my curiosity. I wanted to know what was under Danzo's eye that was worth protecting with a seal that Byakugan or Sharingan couldn't see through. Once I figured out that it was a Sharingan, I became curious which of the Sharingan power was worth making him take the eye of the clan he loathed," Decimo explained, "at first, I thought it was to copy more Justu, but it wasn't worth the payoff since he doesn't have Uchiha bloodline, the toll must be high. During my search, I came across the existence of this Jutsu. And it all started to make sense."
"Since the Uchiha died at war, there were bodies that were lost. Or rather, they were burned, so that others couldn't get to them. The ones who saw to it were Anbu…or Anbu Root. Once that thought stuck in my head…I thought he must have quite the collection in his hideout, but then again. I have no dead body, and that means I have no proof," Decimo sighed.
"Our eyes are a treasure, and to protect them, my clan had gone through inhuman lengths," Hizashi touched his headband.
"Is that why you chose to sit out of the war. No, even if that is so, there are other ways to go about it," Minato suddenly felt that the issue was far more serious than he had been told. If that was true, then the Civil War could be a possibility.
"No, no, don't give me that look," Decimo chuckled, "this is the village that Tsunade's grandfather made, along with my Ancestor, it's the village I would like my daughter to grow up in. If I wanted to launch the civil war, then I wouldn't have waited three years…well, I would have, since the resources of the village are running low, and the Ninjas are stretched thin. But I could have done the same three years ago."
Kushina breathed out in relief. She wasn't sure she could have chosen between the village, her sensei, and the love of her life, and ever be happy again, "Sensei must have a brilliant idea then."
"Yes, I do," Decimo took a scroll from Nawaki, putting it on the table, "it's this Jutsu. For some time now, Tsunade has been working on a Jutsu to store chakra in her body. It's shows as the Diamond Mark on her forehead, and when we sealed Uchiha Families eyes, using the similar technique like Hyuga Family, we started sealing the power generated by the eyes on occasions and collect it all in one place. In the last three years, I have been trying to connect the two, in ways that the Uchiha Family's stored power could be transmitted to one person with this mark, and create a Ninja strong enough to rival the Legends like Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju."
"You can do that?!" Minato widened his eyes. He had seen the valley that was created from the aftermath of a fight between two Legendary Ninja, and he had an inkling to what level of power they possessed, along with the knowledge that First Hokage caught Nine Tailed Beasts alone, which could destroy villages, "Have you succeeded?"
"I said Three Before. Now that Fugaku has awakened Mangekyo Sharingan, he's a candidate, and I want to use the same technique for Kushina, who would gladly share this power with her boyfriend. Nine Tails Chakra, passed on in controlled quality to someone else, who can use it without the Will of Nine Tails get in the way. That's two," Decimo raised his second finger, and Minato exchanged a look with Kushina.
"You are including me?" Minato pointed at himself.
"That's the way, isn't it? Hashirama Senju, and Madara Uchiha. In this Era, it could be Minato Namikaze, and Fugaku Uchiha. Though, unlike Madara, Fugaku has a loving family, a child on his way. He is unlikely to revolt, but just in case the History repeats itself. We will have the power to balance him," Decimo apologetically looked at Fugaku who lowered his head.
He knew that is how others would see an Uchiha with power, equating him to Madara Uchiha, but this was his chance to make people forget about that part of his family History.
"Third?" Minato was now curiouser about the Third Person he was talking about. He naturally looked towards Nawaki, who was nicknamed Mad Bomber, and was famous for his strength.
"The Third Person is from Hyuga Family, but they haven't been born yet," Decimo explained to him, "they would be the future, the next generation who will be the strongest person in the world, and make sure that the world is at peace, and then, the next generation after that we could pass on the Kyuubi Powers, and Sharingan's Power to someone worthy from their generation. As long as there are those who possess the strength of First Hokage's Level, and the Will of Fire. The War would become redundant."
Minato looked at the man, no, the boy that was his age, his voice filled with utmost confidence, and the scroll in front of him, and he understand why everyone was charmed by him. He felt this passion inside his heart, hope for a better future. And the best chance to stop wars once and for all, without even sacrificing a single life.
He took a deep breath, bowing, "I know you have no reason to. But can you please believe in me and give me that scroll?"
"Oh, by any chance, are you thinking about going out and telling Third Hokage, along with Danzo that we have no intention to revolt? And they should hear us out?"
