Young Elemental Elk

Chapter 56 - Young Elemental Elk

[Received 82 Summoning Tokens (F)]

"Looks like we'll have more elves joining us soon," Yue said with a smile on her face.

"Right, we'll need more housing soon." Avery nodded in agreement before adding: "Oh Little Yue, were you able to level up?"

"Wait, let me check big brother." Yue said before bringing up the system, "Status."

"Hmm… It says that I leveled up twice big brother."

"Looks like we're both at level nine then."

As they were talking Yue then remembered something, "Oh yeah! Big brother, the elk!"

They then turned around to see the elk laying on the ground surrounded by the group of elves that Avery assigned to save it.

The elk was looking warily around itself, still not trusting the group that saved it.

Avery and Yue quickly approached them.

"It's fine let us handle it," Avery said as he gestured for the elves to step back.

The soldiers moved back but still within a distance where they could react quickly if something happened.

However, the elk still did not let its guard down as the elves could still strike it at any moment.

Seeing this, Avery instructed "Further."

The soldiers looked at each other before reluctantly moving further.

The elk then slowly calmed down.

Yue then slowly approached the elk.

Seeing that one of the elves was approaching it, the elk raised its guard again and flared its mana.

Yue stopped and looked at it in the eye.

The elk then looked back with apprehension.

Yue then calmed her mana and made it as harmless as possible.

The elk continued to gaze at Yue and tried to sense her intentions.

It checked her mana, looking whether the elve in front of it will do harm to it.

After a while, the elf relaxed and allowed Yue to step closer.

Yue then slowly approached the elk, and slowly brought one of her hands to its head.

However, as her hands approached, the whole body of the elk started to grow.

"Your Majesty!" The other soldiers panicked and tried to move closer to her.

Avery brought his hands up and told them to stop, "Stop!"

"B-but your majes–"

"It's fine, the elk means no harm. Look," Avery gestured to the front.

They looked and saw that the glow around the elk seems to be shifting its body parts.

The elk shrank in size, as its long antlers slowly diminished in size.

Avery knew the elk meant no harm.

He saw similar creatures in the past and knew of their general behaviors.

The elk already trusted Yue as she will do it no harm, so it had no reason to harm her either.

The glow on the elk slowly disappeared and what appeared was not the adult elk they saw before.

It was younger.

An elk that has yet to mature, as evident by its immature features.

"An illusion!" The soldiers said in amazement.

"Right. It was a spell it used to appear tough in front of the goblins." Avery informed, he knew the first that he saw it.

The mana around it was weird, and if one is not familiar with these kinds of spells then it would be pretty difficult to discern it as evident by the fact the goblins were not able to see through it.

Yue looked at the elk in front of her as she slowly caressed its head.

It was tired and didn't move much.

It let out pitiful sounds as if telling her something.

Yue checked the condition of the elk and saw that it was in a state of mana deficiency.

It was a result of its resistance to the capture of the goblins.

The complete lack of mana was slowly affecting the elk and if nothing is done then it would face massive consequences.

"Big brother…" Yue looked at her big brother who was approaching them.

Avery knew what Yue was asking of him.

She had seen him transferring mana to other living beings, so she had hoped he would do the same.

She can't do it herself yet since she doesn't have enough mana control to precisely execute such a complicated spell.

Aside from that, she is also low on mana due to the battle earlier so even if she knows how to do it, it would only be useless.

Avery then kneeled in front of the young elk.

He held his hand out to where the magic core of the elk is located.

He then started transferring mana to it.

His mana is still in high capacity so giving some to the elk was no problem.

As he transferred mana, the young elk's condition starts to get better.

And after a while, the young elk appears to be back to normal.

It slowly stood up and looked at the siblings with eyes of gratitude.

Now that the siblings are under no pressure and the elk is back to normal condition, they were now able to finally able to appreciate the beauty of the young elk in amazement.

The elk was white in color with golden brown antlers.

What made it special was the lines of mana that spread throughout its body. Mana could be seen moving through the lines around it adding some mysticism to its overall appearance.

Avery and Yue scanned it with the system.

"A title?" Avery wondered. Creatures like this normally wouldn't have titles.

Before he could think further, the elk let out an immature sound bringing his attention to it.

From the tone and expression of the elk, it appears to be trying to thank the siblings for saving it.

Yue smiled and said, "It's fine, no need to thank us."

Avery nodded in agreement with his sister.

The elk then slowly moved in a particular direction.

It looked back at them before nodding its head in the direction it was facing.

Yue looked at her big brother, "Big brother, it looks like it wants us to follow."

"We should follow it, it might lead us to something," Avery said before looking back at the rest of the expedition force.

Lia and Estel approached the siblings.

Seeing them, Avery ordered, "Lia I want you to bring the group of elves that saved the elk and follow us."

"Yes your majesty," Lia said in her usual flat tone.

He then shifted his gaze to Estel. "Estel, I want you and the rest of the expedition force to stay and clean up the battlefield like last time."

"As you wish, your majesty," Estel replied knowing what to do.

During their first fight with the globin scouting party, she was with Avery and Yue.

She knew what she had to do.

Lia and Estel then did as they were ordered.

Avery said and slowly walked towards the young elk who was happily being caressed by Yue and joined them.

After a while, Lia along with a group of elves then approached them.

"Your majesties," Lia said.

"Looks like everything is ready." Avery looked at her and the groups of elves and nodded.

Seeing that they were ready to go, the young elemental elk slowly walked in a particular direction.

Avery, Yue, Lia, and the rest of the small group elves followed while making sure that the surroundings were safe.
