Rain of Ascension

September 1, 2021. The day of the Beginning of the Ascension.

It was 8 AM in the morning, and the sun was slowly rising to the sky to signify the start of a new day. Its bright sun rays graced the earth with its light. The trees swayed to the side as the morning breeze passes through. It was a peaceful sight, but little did the people know that this day would be the most important day on this planet. As this is the day of the beginning of the Ascension.

'The Ascension is a phenomenon where the Ascended Universe slowly expands itself by creating a new world in the outermost area of the Universe and integrating people from certain planets. The Ascended Universe is a place where countless worlds gather. In their countless empires rose and fell to the ground. Multiple races fought for dominance, resources, ideologies, and other reasons.'

'For every Ascension, selected people from certain planets are teleported into the created world to begin their trial with the system guiding them. The first step for Ascending into the Ascended Universe is called the Rain of Ascension. Here, millions of rainbow glowing like rocks called Crystal of Ascension would rain down into the selected planet. Those who obtained the Crystal of Ascension were given the chance to participate in the trials and have the opportunity to build their own race and start their own empire from scratch.'

'Now on September 1, 2021 is the day where earth experiences the Rain of Ascension.'

'There was a rumor back when my empire was at its peak. It was said that one of the worlds that Ascended found a way to allow two people to start at the same place and same time. It was said that those who had great trust with one another and chose this method of ascension were given great benefits.'

'I wanted to try if I and Little Yue could use this method of ascension. Doing so, I would be able to protect her and keep her at my sight at all times. Plus with her at my side, I would be able to spend all my time with her.'

'We could even create an empire together and rise to the top of the Ascended Universe. Plus if those rumors say that those with great trust were given great benefits. Then maybe we could have some headstart.'

"Little Yue."

"Yes! Big Brother!"

"I'll be going out for a while so don't go out while I am outside. Even if there is a meteor shower happening, ok." Avery said in a serious tone.

"Can I come?" Sensing the serious tone Little Yue was worried that something might happen to her Big Brother. So she decided to come and make sure he is safe.

"No. I'll only be out for a while so stay here okay. I promise I'll return immediately if something happens"

"Ok.." Little Yue said in a low voice while looking down.

Seeing his depressed sister. Avery sighed and hugged her eliciting a surprise yelp from her.

"I'll be back soon, so don't worry. I promise I'll let you in on the things I do next time. Okay." Avery said in hope of improving her mood. What he said was not a lie as he is only going out to get two Crystal of Ascension for them and returning back. Plus, he would really let her in when the Crystal of Ascension activates. He knows that she wants to stand by his side and face everything together. And that is what he plans to do in the Ascended World.

"Nn." She hums in agreement as she enjoys the warmth of his embrace.

After a couple of minutes he released her and kissed her on the forehead. He takes an empty bag and leaves the penthouse wearing a red hoodie and black jogging pants. As the door closes, there stands a beat red Little Yue touching the location that her Big Brother kissed while daydreaming.

Outside the building, Avery was seen walking towards the park across the street. This was the location he plans to search on. It was wide open giving the Crystal of Ascension more space to fall on. Thus this location is an ideal space that has the highest chance of finding a Crystal.

Avery sits down on the bench and looks at the time on his phone.

'9:54 AM'

'It's almost time. Just six minutes away before the Rain of Ascension starts.'

'9:59 AM'

'It's time' Avery stands up and looks up into the sky

As the clock hits 10:00 AM. Rainbow-like rocks start raining down on earth. It was truly a magnificent view.

'Haa.. It is truly beautiful. I was not able to enjoy this last time since we were busy running.'

*Boom* *BOoom*

Loud noise starts to form all around the park as the Crystal crashes into the dirt. Some of the Crystal crashed onto the buildings while some hit the cars on the road. It was a disaster compared to the beauty it showed a while ago.

As the Crystal rained down. Avery starts to run towards the nearest Crystal and hides it inside his empty bag. He looked around to search another one for his sister and found one. He took it and hid it in his bag again. After acquiring two crystals he starts to run home in order to assure his sister that he is safe.
