Memories III: Wedding

[A/N: I had a really hard time writing the next three chapters. I am not really familiar with the emotions that I wrote here especially the trauma thing so it took me some time to research some stuff. So please don't take everything here logically if you feel something off. I tried and hopefully, I was able to convey the message that I wanted to say. And please don't judge things at face value when you read it, everything will be slowly explained through the end. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the chap and have a nice day!!]

Chapter 64 - Memories III: Wedding

I heard my brother call out to me as I ran away.

I did not want him to see me in this state, my trauma seems to be resurfacing.

I need to calm down before it elapses again.

Quickly bringing out the system, I immediately ordered it to log me out.

Preparing for the sensation of waking up, I waited as I tried to calm myself using the same trick I used back then to alleviate my trauma and emotions down, I slowly breathed in and out as I try to divert my attention away from what happened a while ago.

Waiting for the usual feeling that I was used to when logging out, the sensation this time around was different.

It was the same feeling whenever I was entering a state of viewing my big brother's memory.

Before I knew it, I was already standing in a dark luxurious hallway.

Realizing that I was inside big brother's memory, I thought it would be a good way to slowly divert my attention away from what happened a while ago.

So I started looking around. It was simply a straight hallway with luxurious decorations on the wall. Looking forward, I saw a huge double doorway that was slightly open at the end of the hallway.

Being occupied with what is happening, my thoughts were successfully diverted from what happened a while ago.

With nowhere else to go, I then slowly walked towards the door as I observed the paintings and decorations on the wall.

After a while, I was now in front of the double door. I then slowly opened them both.

Walking in, I was greeted by a dark spacious hall.

In the middle was a pathway leading up to an altar at the end of the hall. On both sides of the pathway, were empty seats that faced forwards. Looking up, I saw three huge luxurious unlit chandeliers.

If the place was refurbished, decorated, and added some lightning, it would no doubt be a good location for a wedding.

Thinking of the wedding, my thoughts were slowly coming back to what big brother said a while ago.

My stomach starts to churn, as I feel my heart beat faster.

I started getting worried about what this memory was going to show me.

And I can't get off the feeling that something that would break me was going to be shown.

It did not take long before my worries starts becoming true.

The surrounding starts to twist as the dark empty hall starts getting refurbished in front of my eyes.

The hall starts to light up as the room was now decorated for a wedding event.

The seats start to get filled with elves and a race that I am not familiar with.

My heart beat faster and faster as my worry starts to get realized.

Hoping that I was wrong, I decided to look at the front where the altar was located.

There I saw my big brother in his wedding attire, appearing to be the man of the hour.

The feelings that I tried to put aside a while ago were slowly coming back to me.

I was in denial, I do not believe what is happening in front of me is true.

Then as if on cue, the double door behind me slowly opened.

I turned around and saw a woman dressed in her bridal gown. It was quite revealing with its translucent cloth.

The elves glanced at her with indifference while the other race gawked and eyed her body as if it was the most delicious meat.

The woman in the bridal gown seems to enjoy it.

Meanwhile, Avery frowned in disgust upon seeing the woman.

However, these details did not register in my brain, I was too focused on the woman and the fact that my big brother was going to marry her.

[..?! Error… Connecting Error..]

My gaze was too focused on her for me to register the system prompt.

The women slowly walked down the red carpet in the middle.

She slowly walked towards me, as I was standing there with my eyes trembling as I was dazed in horror.

As she neared me, I can see her features much more clearly…. It was beautiful.

She continued walking and phased through me before continuing her walk towards my big brother.

She had this seducing and predatory smile as she looked at big brother.

As I was too focused on her, I failed to notice the elves who were moving around the hall seemingly activating something.

At the same time, I did not see the disgusted look that big brother had, as he hiddenly activated something in his hands.

Normally, Yue would be able to feel Avery's emotions and at the same time hear his thoughts during these situations. However, for some reason, the system is having an error, preventing the connection to be properly established.

The ceremony started proceeding with a few rituals that I am not familiar with.

My emotions were in turmoil.

My heart continuously beat in pain as I watched them continue with the event. I was devastated refusing to accept such a thing from happening.

The pain that I felt and the reality in front of me was too much to bear.

I can't take it anymore!

My feet started walking backward as I shook my head in denial refusing to accept that my brother was getting married to another woman other than me.

This is not happening! This is fake!

The system must be messing with me!

Right?!

As my feet were walking backward, the ceremony was getting into the main event.

No no no! NO! NO!

In denial, I turned around and ran towards the door.

I refuse to see and accept this!

I opened the door and ran through the hallway.

"System! Get me out of here!"

I shouted in pain as tears fell from my eyes.
