Chapter 38 - Inspection

Particles of white light slowly appeared as they converged together to form the appearance of two elves with incomparable beauty even for an elf.

The male looked around to see if everything was alright while the female was excited.

"Were back!" The female who is none other than Yue said excitedly.

"Right, and it looks like the villagers are still having their breakfast." Avery the male who was with Yue said.

After their discussion yesterday, they decided to retire early and continue their work the next morning.

While the pair of brothers and sisters were talking, the villagers along with Lindir, Haldir, were having their breakfast.

Elrand along with the two generals and a couple of cooks already ate their breakfast earlier than others.

The cooks had to prepare food for the entire village while Elrand supervised them. The two generals, Lia and Estel, had to guard the village in case something unexpected attacked.

They were both standing on their respective post while keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings. They were focused and dedicated to their work so they could help their majesty keep the village safe.

They were quite tired since they had to alternate night watch together for the past few days since they were the only ones with the skills for the job as Yue and Avery had to leave the Ascended World. Even if they were here, their subordinates would have definitely disagreed with them taking the night watch.

But still, the amount of loyalty and dedication the two generals have for Avery and Yue cannot be compared to something as trivial as their tiredness.

The good news is that it was going to be over today since they were going to start recruiting villagers for the military later on.

So they continued their work.

Meanwhile, Elrand was standing behind the cooks who were serving the villagers that were lining up. He was making sure that everything was organized and that everyone gets their share of food.

While doing so, he was thinking of the things that they need to improve for the village. He had already heard the plans of his and her majesty so he was not worried that it would become a problem.

The houses provided by the system and the houses they built were all simple. They were only there for them to have a home to sleep in during the night. It still did not have all the facilities a house would have. As seen when the houses do not have a proper kitchen of their own.

That is why cooking is done at the center of the village, where all the villagers would get their food like how a buffet would work.

Another reason for that is because of the limited resources, in order to make sure that everyone gets to eat, they had to make sure that the food they have is regulated and controlled.

'Thought it can't stay like this forever. Though it seems that his and her majesty has some plans for these already.' Elrand thought

As Elrand thought, the current situation was only temporary. They were going to build better houses in the future once they have planned the layout of the city and acquired the necessary labor and resources for it.

They also need to set up the economy as it is currently nonexistent in the village right now, and everything is currently controlled by the leaders.

As Elrand was thinking he suddenly noticed his and her majesty in the distance. Realizing that they were already here, he quickly walked towards Avery and Yue since he already handled everything and the cooks already knew what to do.

More importantly, how could he not greet the two most important figures in their village. Not only are they the leaders but are also considered to be the progenitor of their race.

"Your Majesties! Forgive me for not greeting you!" Elrand said apologetically.

"It's fine." Avery replied as he didn't really care much.

"It's alright! It's our fault in the first place for coming in the Ascended World earlier than usual. So don't blame yourself!" Yue replied with a kind smile on her face.

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

"I see that the villagers are still having breakfast." Avery said.

"Yes, your majesty. As scheduled we are to have breakfast before morning lessons."

"Alright, we will be looking around then for the meantime as we wait for them to finish their breakfast."

"Okay, your majesty. I-" Before Elrand could continue his sentence, he was stopped by Avery.

"I will be going alone with my sister. Okay?" Avery interrupted Elrand, knowing that he would suggest accompanying them. He of course would not want his precious alone time with his sister to be ruined right by having a third wheel right?

"Yup! As Big brother said, we'll be going alone together." Yue said with a smile, as she thought of the same thing as Avery.

"But-"

"You still have some work to finish right?" Yue said.

"Actually. I have already fi-"

"Nope. You still have some work right?" A hard smile was on her face as she said those words.

"..."

"Right? Elrand?"

"Y-yes your majesty! I-I still have some work to do." Realizing what her majesty seems to be implying. He had no other choice but to say that he has work even though he already distributed the work.

At the side, Avery was happy as he saw his little sister was determined to spend some time with him.

"Alright then, we'll be on our way."

"Bye! Elrand, we'll be seeing you in a while then."

With that, the two brothers and sisters made their way to the temporary school that was newly built while Elrand went back to his post.

"Wow! I wasn't able to get a clear view yesterday since I was quite tired." Yue said in appreciation to the school she helped in building.

"Though it may not be something grand as it was only temporary, it still does look beautiful with the elven architecture accompanying it." She added as she saw the carvings and placement of materials done by the builders that she accompanied yesterday.

"Your right, it does look nice even with limited materials and labor we have."

It was purely made of wood and had only three rooms. There is one main door that leads to a very spacious room that can fit a total of 200 people. If they try to force it they could still fit in 50 more, but it would be difficult for the people inside. In front, there is a small elevated stage with a wooden board on the wall. This was going to be the classroom, but it would not be wrong to call it a conventional hall as it looked like that instead. Beside the stage, there is another door that leads to the second and third rooms.

Avery and Yue then went inside to look around.

"It looks unreal that we could build this in two days." Yue said in amazement.

"Magic can do wonders right?"

"It truly is amazing, Big brother! With the magic I used yesterday, moving heavy objects around became easier for the villagers and at the same time cutting woods and connecting them with magic allowed the builders to speed things up."

"Even with our limited capacity right now, we can already build something like these in two days. Just imagine, what we can do in the future." Avery said as he recalled the empire he built in the last timeline. Grand buildings and structures all around the city, as magic allowed construction to be more efficient.

"Right!! We can build something bigger and… and maybe even have a floating island! Then…" Yue then started listing the things she imagined with sparkling eyes as he looked at her big brother.

Avery just smiled at her excited sister. He listened to every word she said without interrupting her. He stared at her beautiful face along with her eyes that seems to sparkle makes her look so cute.

"Oh! I am sorry big brother! It looks like I was out of it again…" Yue realized that she had been talking nonstop so she quickly apoligized and looked down on the floor.

Avery just smile as she looked cute right now. He rubbed her head and said with a smile, "It's alright you looked very cute a while ago anyway, so don't worry."

"C-cute.." Caught off guard by the sudden compliment that was thrown at her made her face quite red.

Deciding to spare her today, Avery quickly changed the subject. "Anyway, let's go take a look at the second room." He then proceeds to walk towards the door at the side of the small stage.

After getting her bearings, Yue smiled then quickly followed her big brother. "Wait for me, Big brother!"

There was nothing really special in the second room, as it was only filled with tables and shelves. It is probably meant for the teachers. At the side, there was another door that leads to the third room. Upon checking inside, Avery and Yue only saw a small storage area.

They then quickly left the temporary school or convention hall and went to look at the newly built watchtower.

They could see it at the distance since it was the tallest structure in the village. At the top of the watchtower, they could see Estel with her bow looking outside the village with watchful eyes.

Avery and Yue decided to not interrupt her guard duties as she looked quite focused on her job. They also noticed she was a bit tired.

"Should we tell her to rest? Big brother?" Yue asked worriedly.

"Hmm… I would but I doubt that she would agree." Avery said as she knows that she would stubbornly refuse to let go of her work. If they try to convince her or even force her. He knows that it would take quite a while. Plus he doesn't really wanna force them if they don't want to.

"Right." Yue nodded as she also thought the same. She was quite close to Estel so she knows her personality and it would take a while to force her to rest. As she would only return to work after they left.

"Let's just not disturb her. Plus we will be working on our military after the morning lessons, there will be more people to take her post so she could have proper rest."

"Ok then, Big brother." Yue said.

They continued to walk around the village while looking at the newly built houses. At the same time, they also talked about what they would want to build in the city and the layout of what their future city would look like.

And of course, the two also tried to flirt and tease the other once in a while.

Time then continued and it was finally time for the morning lessons.

Again.... sorry for the late chapter. I am having a bit of difficulty balancing my time. I really want to try increasing the number of chapters per week since the story progresses quite slowly if I were to only release once a week. So after I have found a way to balance my time in college I'll try to update more chapters in a week. No promises though as the workload in college is quite heavy, but I'll try.

In the meantime, I'll definitely try to make sure to at least upload once a week. That I promise. Even if something happens to me that would not allow me to upload, I'll make sure to inform you guys.
