Goblin Battle II

Back to Avery, the distance between him and the goblin leader was becoming shorter.

The goblin leader raised his long sword sideways in order to cut the elve in half.

As the distance closed the goblin leader slashed his sword sideways.

Avery jumped up high in order to dodge the slash. Enhancing his feet with mana while at the same time utilizing the momentum of the run, he then kicked the goblin directly in the face.

Due to the combined force of a mana-enhanced kick and the momentum of the run. The goblin was launched back a little and dropped to the ground on his back.

In the air, Avery raised his sword up and prepared to lunge down at the goblin.

Seeing this the goblin raised his long sword and blocked the incoming slash.

The goblin then pushed his sword away and launched the elve into the air and quickly stood up.

As Avery was launched in the air, he fixed his stance mid-air and aimed his free hand at the goblin.

The goblin raised his long sword and prepared to slash at Avery who is still in the air.

As he was about to slash Avery, a small ball of fire suddenly exploded right in front of his face.

"Gwaghh!" The goblin shouted from the pain he felt from the direct hit of the fireball. He was not expecting such a move and thus was unable to block the fireball.

Using the shockwave of the explosion, Avery launched himself back and created a distance between him and the goblin leader.

He made sure to use a weakened fireball and redirect much of the force towards the goblin as he was also close to the explosion.

The goblin lashed out in all directions and randomly slashed, as his face was injured from the fireball thus making him incapable of sight for a while.

Not giving the goblin a chance, Avery ran towards the goblin and made sure to hit the soft tissues as the muscles and skin were too tough for his current level to cut through.

Avery continually dodged the random slashes of the goblin as he continued slashing at the goblin. He wanted to weaken him as much as possible before landing the finishing blow.

After a while of continued slashing and dodging, Avery noticed that the goblin is slowing down.

He then moved to the side of the goblin and slashed at its knee. Losing control over its legs, the goblin lost balance and fell forward.

Avery then used this chance as he raised the handle of the sword up with its blades facing down at the goblin.

He then thrust it at the location where the heart is supposed to be located.

As the goblin was tired and weakened from the battle, it was not able to consciously harden his muscle which allowed the sword to cut through his skin with little resistance.

With his sword submerged deep into the ribs of the goblin, Avery then willed mana to his sword...

A sound of something bursting was then heard followed by a sudden stop of breathing from the goblin laying down on the ground.

It was dead. The goblin leader was dead.

Looking around he saw that Yue and Estel were also able to finish the rest of the goblins as most of them were injured and incapable of fighting.

He looked at Yue who showed signs of being tired.

As a worried big brother, he of course would not standstill.

He rushed towards Yue.

"Are you alright, Little Yue?" Avery asked as he worriedly inspected her.

"I am fine, just a little weak from the excess use of mana." Yue grinned as she replied to her worried big brother.

"Wait. Shouldn't I be asking you that? You were the one fighting the goblin leader after all." She looked at him worriedly this time.

"I am fine, it was not much of a fight after all."

Seeing that there were no injuries in him, she sighed in relief. She was worried after seeing the goblin leader a while ago.

Estel was at the side, just looking at them. Not daring to interrupt their moment.

'His and Her Majesties, look cute together. They both first wanted to see if the other was alright first before taking care of themselves.' Estel thought happily.

"How about you Estel are you alright?" Breaking her out of her monologue she looked at Yue who asked her.

"Yes, your majesty. I was at the distance so I have not made any close contact with the enemies." Estel replied happily that her majesty asked her.

Avery nodded and then looked at the system screen floating in his peripheral.

The notification has been ringing since a while ago. He was busy enacting the plan so he was not able to check it.

He opened it.

'Hmm, a standard goblin would normally give 20 exp while a goblin soldier like the leader I fought would give 25 at their level. But since we are fighting someone beyond our level then the system deemed it as an achievement and doubled the exp gained.'

Goblin has a ranking system on its own. Which are:

[Goblin Slave] -> [Goblin] -> [Goblin Soldier] -> [Goblin Elite Soldier] -> [Goblin General] -> [Goblin Leader] -> [Goblin Noble] -> [Goblin King]

Though the goblins are not the only ones who have a ranking system of their own. As all races have their own way of classifying and ranking themselves.

Since there are a lot of races, and memorizing different ranking systems is not only tiring but also confusing, people would generally refer to the level and tier ranking system to determine the strength of their enemies.

The tier ranking system would always refer to the level of the species.

No matter what race or monster it is, it would always have a level which means it would also have its own tier. The tier system is:

[Tier 1 - Rank E] would fall in the range of [Lvl. 1 - lvl. 20]

[Tier 2 - Rank D] is on [Lvl. 21 - lvl. 50]

[Tier 3 - Rank C] is on [Lvl. 51 - lvl. 100]

[Tier 4 - Rank B] is on [Lvl. 101 - lvl. 200]

[Tier 5 - Rank A] is on [Lvl. 201 - lvl. 500]

So the enemy that Avery, Yue, and Estel fought are all Tier 1 - Rank E
