It's been a day since I killed Starlight's boyfriend.

From my reports, after she woke up she has been feeling depressed and has taken a break.

She'll probably be fine after a few days after all it's not like Hughie was the love of her life or anything, not that I actually care anyways.

Oh yeah regarding his crew, I decided to let them off the hook. They will die eventually together with Butcher but not by my hands, the effort isn't worth it.

The device will be completed tomorrow and after that I will just tie up some loose ends and leave for the procedure since it's going to last two months give or take.

That's why I'm currently sitting in one of the large and futuristic conference rooms in this building listening to the reports of the CEO's of the various sectors of my conglomerate in causal clothing.

"Just last week GTA VI exceeded the estimated profit mark of seven billion to ten billion, making it the world's most profitable game. We estimate a total average of fifteen billion for Auto VII, and that's not taking into consideration our other games."

Shelly Atkinson said as she used the holographic projector to show charts.

She is the CEO of Ventainment or Entertainment, a busty middle aged woman who is particularly feisty in bed.

"Vesla stock market price has increased exponentially during this week, experts estimate a twenty percent increase in profits by the end of this week due to the release of Model X."

Mr Cromwell, a thick tall middle aged man reported after with a professional smile.

"Our VR full body..."

"The deep sea mining...."

One after the other, the seven CEO's in the room gave reports of the last week in a professional manner as I sat on the head seat with my cheek on my fist.

I already know all of this but once in a while I just decide to sit here with them to listen to what they have to say, productivity remains active when the employees/subordinates feel connected to you in a way.

Its basic psychology.

When everyone finished, they sat down in silence and waited for me to speak.

"I'm impressed, it seems none of you are slacking and that's good. It's good I wouldn't have to do another 'purge', keep up the good work."

I congratulated with a smile that sent shivers through their skin as they thought of the purge.

Sometime ago, some 'geniuses' decided to sneakily steal some of the profits. Personally, I don't mind since no matter what I will get my money but those guys went overboard so I had to 'cleanse' the system of them.

Let's just say it was very bloody.

Since then no one has tried to do that again.

"Okay guys, I'm going on a vacation for a few months so don't bother going to my floor if you need me."

I announced, making them look at me in shock since I haven't actually gone on a vacation before.

"That's a great idea Sir, I can speak for all of us when I say you deserve even more. I haven't seen such a dedicated person like you before."

Mr Ernest said with a smile, the rest nodding with him.

"If you there's any problem, just use the software I gave you. Well then, meeting dismissed."

I ended the meeting and left the room, the rest coming out after.

I walked along the corridor, passing by employees who stood aside as I passed and entered the elevator, pressing on the last floor.

In seconds I reached my floor and entered my luxurious office at the end of the corridor.

"Becca is calling, oh and it seems Homelander is in her home."

Seraph announced in an amused tone as I relaxed on one of the large sofas in the middle of the room.

"Put her through, we already calculated this day will come."

I said in a similar tone, it's was only a matter of time before he found Ryan and it makes no difference because the boy isn't going to acknowledge him.

"...Virgil, what the hell is going on!? You said Homelander won't find us but he is here right now talking to Ryan in my home. Ryan isn't giving him the attention he wants and it's getting him angry, really angry."

Becca explained in a slightly angry and fearful tone.

"I don't control the world Becca, sooner or later he was bound to find you guys. Don't panic, I won't allow him to take Ryan after all I see him as my own. He can't do anything to you guys so let him be around for a while, when he sees that his son doesn't see him as his father he will leave."

I calmly explained to her, making her calm down.

"...Okay. I have to tell you something, when he came here he brought Billy along. I didn't want him to die so I made a deal with him, if he doesn't kill Butcher then he can come and visit his son anytime he wants."

Becca revealed in a sad tone.

So that's why she isn't asking me to come and drive him away, Butcher is one lucky bastard.

"I see.. then ju--"

"Oh no! Homelander just left after screaming your name. I think he heard our conversation, you are in trouble."

Becca warned fearfully.

"Don't worry, he can't do anything to me. Just relax, if that's all I will see later."

"...Okay, please be safe."

The call ended.

This is getting interesting, I already predicted this kind of response but I want to see what he will do when he comes here. Will he attack me, threaten or leave after a verbal thrashing?

It's always nice when your plans fall into place.

"Sir, Homelander will arrive in two minutes."

"When he comes just open the windows."

I said and went up to pour myself a glass of Vodka at my mini-bar and started drinking as I waited for him.

Two minutes later, he arrived and entered the room after the floor to ceiling windows parted with a angry look on his face.

"What brings you here John? Care for a drink? I think I have a jar of milk around."

I said playfully with a smile, making his angry face twitch as he stood in front of my workdesk, facing me with his fists clenched.

"Virgil.....I've tolerated all your insults, disrespect and lies on account of the fact that we've know each other for a very long time.

But you've overstepped your boundaries this time, who gave you the fucking right to hide and steal my son from me.

You see him as your own? That's bullshit, you only care about yourself.

I'm not going to allow you to steal even this away from me Virgil..no no no, I think it's time I showed you why I'm Homelander."

He said finished in a narcissistic tone as his eyes started glowing red.

"Is that so? And how are you going to do that?"

I questioned as I placed my glass down and walked towards him, my smile vanishing as I arrived in front him with my eyes glowing as I towered him.
