Chapter 19-Back Home (2)

Theodore and Allison made their way to Theodore's mother's room. They walked for a couple of minutes before they arrived in front of a huge black door.

Theodore knocked on the door three times before a his mother opened the door. His mother was raging when she opened the door.

She was about to scream at the person at the door who had interrupted her morning of her son, but stopped when she saw the golden haired boy with sky blue eyes standing there.

"Theodore...?" asked Theodore's mother with hope in her eyes as she looked at the young man who was standing in front of her.

"Yes mother,it is me Theodore. Your son has returned to you," said Theodore as he hugged his mother tightly.

After a while, he broke out of the hug and looked at his mother who was crying her eyes out.

He then stopped his mother from crying and introduced Allison to her.

"Mother, this is Allison, my fiancee. Allison this is my mother, lady Amelia Nightshade," said Theodore as he introduced the two women to each other.

It was only after Theodore had pointed out Allison that Amelia noticed her presence.

It took a while for Theodore's words to click in Amelia's head and when they did, she was shocked beyond relief.

She was dumbfounded when she asked whether or not she was hearing correctly or where she was just Imagining it.

"Wh-wha? F-f-fiancee?"asked Amelia as she looked at Allison and then at Theodore.

"Yes, my fiancee," replied Theodore as he looked at Allison and smiled.

"Good evening ma'am," said Allison as she greeted Theodore's mother.

"Yes good evening young lady. Theodore how could you get engaged without my knowledge?" asked Amelia after she greeted Allison.

"Well, I fell in love with her and could not help but want to make her mine," said Theodore as he looked at his mother in the eyes.

After all the system had told him to say this to increase Allison's affection towards him. And after a few seconds it had the desired result as the system displayed Allison's affection meter.

'Just forty five more affection points and she will be maxed out,' thought Theodore as he gazed at the panel in front of him.

Amelia then gazed at Allison and looked her up and down and could not help but frown in disapproval.

'How dare this commoner seduce my son,' thought Amelia as she was looking at the young maiden with disapproval on her face.

But she quickly replaced her look with that of happiness so that no one could see her, but Theodore had already noticed her disapproving look and smiled inwardly.

After all he wanted to claim this beauty that was standing in front of him next. And the more jealous she felt the easier it would be for him to claim her later on.

"Well dear since you are my son's fiancee that makes you my daughter. So there is no need to for formalities when you are in front of me. You can call me mother, okay?" asked Amelia as she looked at Allison and took her hands into her own.

"Uh, y-yes m-mother," said Allison as she looked at her lover for help.

Theodore smirked when he saw Allison's reaction and started speaking with his mother.

"Mother, grandpa has called everyone down for dinner. He said that he has got a very important announcement to make after dinner," said Theodore as he pulled his mother away from Allison.

"Oh, really? I did not know about that," said Amelia as she was embarrassed at the sudden closeness her son was showing her.

After taking for a while, they made their way down the stairs to join their family at the dinner table in having dinner.

The other family members were shocked when they saw the tall young man with golden hair and sky blue eyes.

He looked like their recently deceased family member, Theodore. Just a lot taller with toned muscles.

Duke Lucario stood up when Theodore entered the dining hall with Amelia and Allison closely following behind him.

He then spoke up with a happy expression on his face as he said,"As you all know, Theodore was believed to be dead. But God has blessed us and has brought him back to us!"

After saying this the table broke out into a noise as people were questioning whether or not that was possible.

Among the ruckus, a young man with short black hair and black eyes was seething while he sat on his chair.

'How is this fucker still alive. I thought that he was dead for good,' thought the young man as he looked at Theodore with a hate filled gaze.

He looked at Theodore with a burning gaze. If looks could kill, Theodore would have been dead by now.

He quickly changed his gaze so that no one would notice him looking at Theodore with a hate filled gaze.

Duke Lucario signaled everyone to be quiet and to look at him. Everyone quickly kept quiet as the table went silent once again as they turned their gaze to Duke Lucario.

"Okay today is a special occasion, let us have dinner and enjoy it. After dinner I have an important announcement to make," said Duke Lucario as he took his seat and motioned for everyone to start eating.

Everyone started eating as the only sounds that could be heard was the clicking of utensils resonating throughout the entire dining hall.

Theodore and Allison also took their seats as they started having dinner. They had not eaten anything throughout the day and were very hungry.

After about an hour, the servants cleaned the dining table and took all the dirty dishes to the kitchen to be cleaned.

Once they were done, they left the dining hall leaving the noble family alone to have an important discussion.

"Now that everyone is full, as I have promised, I am going to make an announcement," said Duke Lucario as he looked at everyone present at the table.

"I have been thinking of appointing a new successor to replace me... And after a while of thinking... I have decided to appoint James and Theodore as potential successors...," said Duke Lucario with a serious expression on his face and in a serious tone.

Everyone looked at him in shock as they did not think that Theodore would be appointed as a potential successor to the Nightshade Dukedom.

The group of people broke out into a commotion and questioned Duke Lucario whether he was alright in the head or not.

"That is ridiculous! How can you make Theodore a potential successor to the Nightshade Dukedom?!" screamed a middle aged man from the group of family members.

"Yes I agree! He has a bad reputation among the commoners!" screamed another member from the group.

"He even has a bad reputation among the other noble families! If he becomes the Duke of the Nightshade Dukedom then we might lose all the respect we have!" screamed another, who stood up and slammed his hand onto the table.

"I have made my decision and it is final! I believe in Theodore that if he became the Duke, he would lead the entire Dukedom into prosperity," shouted Duke Lucario at the members who had stood against his decision.

Seeing that this was going to turn into a heated argument, Theodore stood up and started talking to his grandpa.

"No grandpa, they are right. And either way I do not want to become the Duke. You can make James the Duke," said Theodore in an attempt to diffuse the situation.

"But -," Duke Lucario wanted to say something but was cut off by Theodore.

"No grandpa, I mean it I do not want to become the Duke," said Theodore.

He was talking the truth as he had bigger plans than that. He was planning on becoming the King after conquering the kingdom.

"Okay then," said Duke Lucario as he conceded the argument.

James Nightshade, smile triumphantly as he had finally one uped Theodore. He was always in Theodore's shadow, no matter what he did.

He acted like a gentleman. He studied a lot. He even acted like he was a respectful person. But no matter what he did, he was always less favourable to their grandpa.

After that, Duke Lucario announced that James will be his successor when he stepped down as the Duke.

Theodore then went to his bedroom with Allison, but was stopped by his mother, Amelia.

"And where do you think you are taking her?" asked Amelia as she looked at her son while blocking their path.

"Uh...we are going to my room to sleep," said Theodore as he replied to his mother's question.

"You guys might be engaged, but you have not gotten married yet so you cannot share a room," said Amelia as she scolded her son.

Amelia then took Allison to another room and made sure that she was settled before she left.

Theodore entered Allison's room as soon as his mother left the room. He then told her to come to his room later in the night before he left quickly.
