Adventure Guild
Looking at the man approaching me, I could tell right away from his appearance that is a knight from this village. Wearing a dark silver armor in comparison to the other knights around, he is probably someone in the higher ranks.
Now in front of us, he takes of his helmet.
He looks like an older man of around the age of 50. Both mature and well disciplined with gray hair and facial hair. A large scar under his right eye that stands out, along with other small scratches signifying his times in battle.
With a clearer view of both Ymir and I, and stares us down looking at our appearances with a skeptical look.
"What are you individuals of such higher class doing in this small village hidden in the forest?"
'I think I've might have screwed up' I thought to myself as I realize the clothing we wore was completely different of that of the common folks in the village.
Everyone was wearing common clothes of dull colors, the men wearing simple shirt and pants while the women and girls wore a one piece skirt, some wearing a small coat.
We basically came to this village sticking out as sore thumb.
Thinking of something I wrap my arm around the waist of Ymir, pulling her close to me.
She was startled by my sudden actions, but decided to play along.
"Yes, well for introductions my name is Adrian James while this beautiful woman right here is my wife Ymir James. We were traveling by carriage through the Knoll-wood forest on a mission with our guide. However, due to a sudden explosion in the middle of the woods, our carriage was knocked off course, killing our attendants who protected us and horses, along with all our belongs were lost. We only had one more outfit each with a bit of food that lasted 2 days until we stumbled upon this village, hoping to get some help."
The senior knight silently thought about what I just told.
"Do you at least have some sort of feeling identification?" he asks, trying not to dive in further.
"It was destroyed with all the other luggage" I replied.
The knight then sighed,
"I don't want to start any problems right now with the village in high alert."
He then looked back at us and bowed,
"Nice to new you both Adrian and Ymir, my name is Johnathan, the head to the village militia knights. I can't be of assistance now due to all that is happening so I will probably follow up with you later. Since you have no idea it is best to get an id instated again, which you can do at the adventurer's guild. Anyways with all that is going on, I have to get going now, hopefully you find everything well."
After finishing what he wanted to say, he left us to continue our work.
After he left us, the surrounding knights and people just stared at us for a while, the woman staring at me as if they were appreciating an art piece while I noticed a few lustful stares at Ymir.
I glared in their direction and noticing my gaze, they looked aware and then everyone else dispersed leaving me there with Ymir in my arms.
"So you decided to announce me as your wife now, you said you wanted to take it slow, but you really are looking forward to it aren't you" she says as she smiles, kisses my cheek and continues to appreciate our current embrace.
I freeze thinking of what I just said.
'Damn that was just me relying on my instinct and I called her my wife. I'm not sure if it is just me talking or the bond influencing me at this point.'
"Yeah…Yeah, I've already taken responsibility of you at this point, might as well go with it completely."
I then pull her in closer and gave her a peck on the lips, to which both of us enjoyed.
However, I still felt the jealous and lustful stares at both me an Ymir, and at this point it creeped me out, but I just ignored it for now, but I'll still be careful.
Walking throughout the town, I still heard the constant murmurs about the giant being that emerged causing the yellow lightning and a massive explosion that disappeared as if it were never there. They were all worried about if they would be the next target, leading to everyone preparing themselves for the worst and the whole village going into defensive mode.
Everywhere we walked all eyes were set on us, men looking at Ymir while women having all their eyes on me.
Ymir felt slightly uncomfortable with all the eyes of men staring at her, but when she realized all the woman staring at me as if they were trying to see through my clothes, she moved closer as she linked arms sending a glare to all the women, causing them to flinch and turn away.
It chuckled inwardly seeing how jealous Ymir seems to be. Even though she sent all the women back, now I felt the glare of the men on me with hatred for being with Ymir. Like I said, their glares creep me out but I ignore it.
As we kept walking, we found what appears to be an adventurers guild from the sign.
Hoping to get more information, we enter the building, and it was as if we entered a different world.
Both men and woman are eating and drinking as if it were a bar,making loud noises and some are even wrestling each other.
They looked like your typical adventure from fantasy novels. Many men were in their armors with the weapons at their side while the women mainly had robes or some were in moveable gear.
It reminds me the times of when I went to club at midnight with my friends in college and had fun. It was kinda like a community of sorts, and it felt….nice.
As we walk through the people, we are all gathering eyes, especially at our clothing as we don't seem like typically adventurers to enter.
We approach the guild desk, and the woman behind the counter notices us.
She was definitely a beautiful woman with blond hair and blue eyes, curves in all the right places with a big bussom. Wearing glasses, and with her guild uniform that make her look like a hot secretary, and she defiantly has caught the eye of man people as almost all the men before were staring at her.
Nothing our approach, she looks in our direction, at first she was looking at the clothes of Ymir and I and instantly thought were we of impotence, but when she saw my face she was in a daze for a moment, before she snapped herself out of it.
Ymir noticing her daze started glaring at her slightly, tightening her grip on my arm.
The guild secretary noticed how attached Ymir was to me and her glare, but that didn't make her back down.
'Such a handsome man and a woman like that, he must be someone in power…but why are they in a village out her?'
she tells herself.
Now that I was in front of the desk, the lady introduces herself with a beautiful smile.
"Hello my name is Laura, a representative of the adventurer's guild. How may I help you today?"
I respond with a smile while Ymir was still glaring at her
"Hello, my name is Adrian James, while this is…my wife Ymir. My encounters some difficulties in the forest, leaving us stranded out here so I was wondering to get some help to move to a nearby city."
Hearing my introduction, she was slightly surprised of my relationship with Ymir, but she doesn't show it while Ymir just smiles as if she found victory in the situation.
'Well the nearest city is the Trading city of Klevik, which is about a week's travel, but the next caravan isn't for three days. In addition, the price is 50 silver each, or 1 gold for both.'
I flinch slightly as we have no money at all, especially for that high of a price.
"Is it possible for us to travel without paying??" I ask while smiling embarrassed.
She just raised her right eyebrow as she looked at us weirdly.
"…Well you could travel as an escort but you will need a validated adventurer guild license and a rank of D or higher."
My smile froze hearing that I need an adventurer guild license, when I don't even have one, especially to become D rank.
'Might as well try…'
"Well if that is needed, can we apply to get an adventure license."
Hearing the words come out of my mouth, everyone's eyes were now on me and the secretary just looked at my as if I were talking nonsense."
"I already suspected of you not having a license due to your fancy clothes, but you even want to apply for own right now???" she asks skeptical.
The assumptions made just because of the clothing is annoying me, but I can't say anything about it or it will just cause more problems.
"I am sure both Ymir and I have the ability to qualify for adventurers even though we might not seem like so." I tell her straight forward.
She briefly looks us up and down, not knowing what to say.
"…We'll if you want to apply, that is fine, but you will have to undergo a practice fight to determine what rank you are at." she says
"Alright" is all I can say at this point.
