In a certain forest by a certain lake, a teen could be seen sitting by a rock with dark clouds hovering over his head. Even the blazing sun high above heaven could not pierce through the thick air melancholy. His despondently looked over his Status and Summon windows.

With a final look, he sighs as an air of melancholy radiated off of Fang Lin.
"I knew that damn free gift was too good to be true..... and the Ability and Item costs are also just as ridiculous... GAH! WHY IN THE FLYING FUCK IS EVERYTHING SO DAMN EXPENSIVE?! The 'Item' page was equally as ridiculous and has so many items. I might even die of old age before I can go through 1/4 of that list... Tch, the only thing left to check out is the Unit section I guess. Ugh, I don't have the courage to look, my poor heart won't be able to take another blow like this... Let's just get this over with... Unit!"

Just like Fang Lin originally thought, this option allows him to summon live beings to become his... 'Summons' and if he focus on one particular 'Summon', a description of their ability and basic history would be given. There were truly all kinds of beings in this list like humans, beasts, angels, and dragons; you name it and the system more than likely has it. Though he still felt aggrieved at the price tags, its not bad as the others since he already mentally prepared himself. Well that or the effect of 'Serene Mind'... At first, there wasn't too strong a reaction from Fang Lin however, as he kept going through the list his eyes kept widening further.

He woke with a start as a thought entered his mind. The corner of mouth twitched as he asked the system with some hope in his voice.
"System... is it possible to make a filter in the 'Summon' list or can I search for a specific thing instead of manually going through the list?"

"Then from now on, permanently set a filter to show only 'Females' in the 'Unit' summon list!" Said Fang Lin as soon as he read the system's answer. His tone resolute and his will so firm that it would not change even if the Heaven itself were to crumble before his very eyes at this instant.
"Huhu, WAAAHAHAHA! HOLY SHIT! I've decided... the plan to build my 'Crystal Palace'... STARTS FROM THIS MOMENT ONWARD!". Almost delirious from too much happiness, his thoughts crazily raced as he began to imagine who he would summon. From my brief glance at that list... it seems I can summon even fictional characters from all sort of media platforms! Then he suddenly remembered how much points he has for 'Unit' summon and quickly overcome by depression again.
---sigh---"Well that's fine... I wasn't going to summon anyone as of now anyways. And even if I could I still wouldn't. It would be too shameful if I were too weak to protects the girls I summoned... As for summoning really strong as a bodyguard... yeah I'm not about that gigolo life, forget it, even if I'm weak now, I still have principle and dignity to uphold after all."
Before Fang Lin could spew anymore bullshit philosophy that he definitely never believed in before, the beast sleeping inside decided at this time to Awaken.

Yup, no doubt about it. That was the sound of his stomach growling. Now that he thought about it, ever since waking up, he hadn't done anything except losing his shit a little and checking out the system. Looking at the position of the sun, it should be around noon time, give or take.
"Damn I'm failing basic wilderness survival here. I guess I don't need to look for a water source seeing as I woke up besides one.... Next are food and shelter I guess. Hm.... OH! Maybe...."
"Let's see.... if I could summon equipments and characters from their respective fiction then perhaps their other items as well?..."

He finally heaved a sigh of relief when he finished reading the string of texts.

With a thought, Fang Lin brought 1x 'Fasting Pill' and directly put it into his mouth. The pangs of hunger immediately started subsiding which a brought him some relief. After no longer feeling hunger, Fang Lin stored the 'Fasting Pill' in the System Inventory again.
"Now there's only the problem of shelter left mmm... it worked once, why not a second time? Item!"

"And the answer to my prayer is..... HAH! It's actually there but ugh. why so expensive? My points (T-T)...."

"B....uy!" With some reluctance, Fang Lin bought the 'Basic Camping Set' and started setting up the tent making fire right in the spot he first woke up. After being there for more than half a day already, there haven't a hint of any insects, let alone dangerous wild animals so what could possibly go wrong? Fang Lin carelessly decided that for the time being, it was a safe spot.
Inside the tent, he decided it was time get a weapon for some self protection and directly filtered out everything higher than D-rank. After sometime looking through the list, two weapons stood out the most since they have the possibility to grow with him.

With no warning, Fang Lin was assaulted a massive headache as images of sword techniques kept flashing at the forefront of his mind. Front slash, blocking, side sweep, rolling guard, parrying and all sorts of techniques were forcefully shoved into his head. After what seemed like forever, the torture was over and it left Fang Lin gasping for breath.
"Hu... Hu.. Huuuuuu. Damn, this is what I'm gonna go through when I get other skills in the future? Fuck me...."
With that, Fang Lin weakly crawled into the sleeping bag and decided that he had enough for one day. Scouting the surrounding area, get some sword training, and possibly even hunting can wait til tomorrow...
