Chapter Sixty-Four

The room began to spin making Kate put her hands over her eyes to keep from being sick. She was so tired she could barely lift her arms but she hoped when her hands moved the markings would magickly disappear. She took the from her face and slowly opened her eyes a groan escaped, they were still there!

"What is this?" she asked Hekate angrily, "Grandma never had tattoos on her face!"

"Your grandmother never had a need to connect to each element at one time," the Crone snapped her voice distant, "So no she didn't wear our mark." She seemed offended that Kate didn't see the markings as a blessing but a mar on her skin.

"But...I don't want to have tattoos on my face!" she rubbed vigorously at them but they didn't smear, smudge, or wipe away. Finally, so exhausted, she gave up and just stared at them.
