She Is Weak

At one o'clock at night, Jeno's sleep was disturbed because of the damn dreams that came again and again without being invited. He immediately flushed the remaining water in his glass which was only half a glass. His throat felt very dry from the noise in dreamland.

He decided to get out of bed to go to the computer and all the fuss. Jeno's bad habit is that when he wakes up in the middle of the night, it is sometimes difficult to go back to sleep. He chose to spend the rest of the night playing the Playstation that was already available in his room.

When he bowed his body on the chair of his pride in the gaming world, his eyes caught his sister's laptop which he had borrowed and forgot to return this afternoon right next to his jet black keyboard.

"Oh yeah, I haven't returned the laptop yet. Has the child slept yet?" he asked himself. Thinking for a while before deciding to immediately return his sister's things right now.

The room is not far, even too close. Just to the left of her room is Jessi's room. He tried to open the door which was not locked.

"At this hour the door hasn't been locked yet? It's too lazy to be a girl," he said annoyed to himself. Even though he is sometimes indifferent and doesn't show his affectionate feelings, Jeno is big enough to love Jessi like any other brother to his younger sister.

Jeno immediately entered without hesitation. However, his movements stopped when he found Jessi's condition which was far from fine. His head was suddenly dizzy seeing so much red liquid that was right around Jessi's wrist.

The woman lay unconscious with her hands full of a thick red liquid. Nearby were the reddened scissors. Jeno quickly put the laptop on the bed with origin. He walked over to Jessi and held her head.

"Jess, wake up Jess. Don't be joking with me, you know I don't like your every joke? Get up if you don't want me to be angry," he threatened with the hope that his sister would be scared and wake up soon.

His eyes darted around hoping there was something he could ask for help but a moment later he chuckled annoyed with his stupidity. Who is reliable in his family? He wasn't even sure what he was doing.

Jeno wakes up with Jessi in his arms. He ran a little fast carrying Jessi's body so he could quickly reach the car and he ran immediately to the hospital.

No one told him even though it was his parents. It didn't seem important to tell them about Jessi's current condition.

   ***

Jeno sat alone in the waiting chair of Jessi's room while waiting for Jessi's consciousness to recover. The doctor said luckily it wasn't too late to take Jessi to the hospital. If it was too late, somehow Jessi's life would be right now.

The clock on Jeno's cellphone screen was already seven in the morning and all that time he was alone with no intention of telling anyone. He is just busy playing online games on his cellphone to get rid of the boredom that whacks.

However, suddenly his game was interrupted by a voice call from a male number he didn't like for no apparent reason. Jeno lazily picked it up.

   "Hello, why?" Jeno asked matter-of-factly.

"Jen, Jessi, and you? I'm at your house because you two weren't there in the morning," said Fauzan on the other side of the phone.

For some reason, whenever someone pays attention to the two of them, Jeno always assumes that the person is just pretending. He assessed that the relationship between Fauzan and Jessi had been like that all this time. There was nothing he could trust in terms of affection in this world.

"Why are you at my house so early in the morning? Carrying the newspaper?" lazy reply.

"Jeno, you just have to answer Jessi with you or not?" Suddenly his mother's voice came out to ask.

"Yes, Jessi and Jeno, Bun. Why?"

"Where? What are you guys doing?"

"Why are you asking questions like that, Bun? Is it that important? Is it just because Fauzan is there?" he curtly asked back.

"Why are you being asked why you are like this? You just have to answer, what's so hard about it? Where are you?"

He took a shaky breath. Seeing people who care, Jeno feels nauseous.

"At the Arwana hospital," he answered then immediately hung up the phone without wasting much time.

"Don't bother," he chuckled again, continuing his game which had been delayed.

   ***

"Hospital?" Alin's parrot still didn't digest well what Jeno said quickly.

"What's the wrong Auntie? Who's sick?" asked Fauzan panicked. The reason is that his heart is not calm every time he remembers Jessi's name in his head.

Alin returns Fauzan's cell phone to its owner. "Jeno is still in the hospital, he said. Arwana Hospital."

"Arwana hospital? What room, Mother, may I know?" Fauzan asked quickly.

"Jeno didn't have any information. But, we'll meet if we ask, right?"

   ***

Jeno just stared at Jessi who was also just silently dreaming about what to do. From her consciousness starting to recover fifteen minutes ago, Jessi just kept quiet and didn't say anything. Jeno does look indifferent and doesn't care, but he becomes a person who is very worried that something unwanted will happen to his only sister.

"Why are you taking me to the hospital, Brother?"

Jeno raised his face again after looking down again to play the game.

   "Poor," he answered simply.

Jessie chuckled and chuckled softly. Since when in this world has anyone pitied him? It was funny hearing those words come out of his brother's mouth.

"Even though you don't have to take it, just let me die," he said, staring sarcastically at the white ceiling of the room.

"I don't want my house to be haunted," he said again as he went back to playing the game even though his mind wasn't in the game.

There was no more reply from Jessi. The atmosphere returned to silence without any sound. There is only Jessi in this room because Jeno is playing her directly.

Soon the door opened and revealed the three people, which made Jeno squeak as soon as he saw it.

"Jessi, are you all right, honey?" asked Surya looking worried like a father to his daughter.

The three of them approached Jessi which Jessi replied with a weak smile. Fauzan is here, he must still look fine.

"He almost died when he was asked if it's okay," Jeno said idly.

Jessi chuckled lightly at her sister's answer. The sun was silent in anger. They are real family but why does it feel like a stepfamily?

"What hurts, honey?" Alin asked in turn with a worried face rubbing Jessi's forehead.

"Mental," Jeno said again with the alibi of playing games without looking at them. He was afraid to vomit.

Jessi chuckled again, even more so when she saw the expressions on her parents' faces. He seemed very pleased to see her.

"Just take a break, don't think too much," said Fauzan who was standing on Jessi's right.

"Yeah, that's why you don't have to come," Jeno replied again as if representing Jessi to speak.

Jeno is rude, he tortures Jessi for holding back laughter so as not to explode. It's not fun to laugh loudly in front of the faces of sympathetic people.

"Jeno, we better get out!" expelled Surya could not stand it anymore. How could his two children even be hostile to him like this?

"It's better for you guys to come out. Let Jeno stay here," said Jessi, finally speaking up.
