"Alright, that's the kind of thing I like to hear," Julian said, waggling his eyebrows.
Amelia couldn't tell if he was excited about the prospect of going out into the field again, or if he was expecting something more to come of this, but it brought her some relief to see his regular personality showing.
"I need to see what's going on out there. No one is going to have respect for me if I'm not willing to leave the compound and see what they're going through. I'd like a little firsthand experience," Amelia explained.
"That's a good idea. I think they'll really appreciate your hands-on approach. It could be pretty risky though," Nathan interjected.
It was unlike him to have much concern at all. Nathan was always barely hanging onto his humanity, wild and on the edge of shifting at any moment. Thinking ahead wasn't exactly in his nature.
"Why?" Amelia asked, confused.
