The Settlement

After taking a few steps into the settlement he pauses for a moment and glances behind him looking at the gate it has no reinforcing to it like a solid sheet of dark wood with no seams.

Leo couldn't workout how the door worked, so decided to keep walking further into the town the smaller building's were all very similar in design with a dark wood exterior, some of the building's had big display windows where others had a open area's with what look like workshops of various kinds.

One building in particular had a sign with the symbol of a bed on it.

Leo looked at this and walked on up to the building there was no door that he could see as he got closer the door to the building opens amazed by this he grins.

Walking on into this building hes greeted by a very familiar layout of a typical inn, with this layout Leo was certain of his assumption.

Walking up to the checking desk he ask the person behind the counter who is looking with concerned eyes at the person in front of him.

"Hey, so I'm lost and don't have anyway to pay for a room is there any chance of helping out for free lodging?"

The person standing in behind the desk was a young rather athletic build and very pleasing features with mousy brown hair down to her shoulders, green eyes and very cute looking face she spoke with a very soft and warm voice.

"Hi, there traveler, I'm sorry but I'm afraid not, but what do you have there wrapped in your clothing?"

Leo looking down at his clothing remembering that he had stored the apples in his ripped robe like t shirt buy rolling them into it and tying it slightly.

After unraveling and taking the apples out and putting them on the desk the woman is shocked and speaks with a stunned voice.

"Ripons!"

Leo hearing her speak this way only waited for a further response.

"These are very rare and highly nutritious with the juice being able to enhance the body"

Leo hearing this explanation speaks to command in his head.

"When you analysed the surroundings did you take in all date regarding plant life also"

Command replying.

"Yes all data is stored permanently thus reducing the cost of re-scans"

Leo amused by this asks another question.

"How many other trees like the one I found are in the area?"

Command replying.

"Just that one tree."

On hearing this Leo looks at the woman who is still looking at the Ripons with a surprised look, who then looks back at him when she notices the man staring at her.

"You can have free lodging for a year with one of those if you trade it."

Leo hearing this is shocked and taking a moment to think about the possible value that would give him free lodging for a year he replies.

"Ok it's a deal."

The woman taking one of five Ripons smiling saying.

"Thank you very much, here you can stay in the adventure suite."

Passing Leo a piece of wood engraved with a symbol on it looking like a V upside down with two lines underneath.

The woman points to the stairs saying.

"First floor middle room."

Leo wraps the other Ripons back up and proceeds up the stairs, greeted with a corridor which is quite long, with windows to one side letting the light in to the already vibrant corridor, which is decorated with flowers and unique ornaments all the way down it.

He proceeds down the corridor taking in the beauty of this quite elegant and beautiful in inn making his way down he see multiple symbols down the hall.

The first with a straight line the next with two on top of one another and so on until he gets to the fifth which is a V upside down looking at this he noticed a very strange but familiar pattern emerging.

Thinking to him self for a moment it dawned on him that its a Roman numeral sequence although slightly different layout it was the same.

He walk's to his room which was in the middle of the hallway holding his what seemed to be a key in is hand the door opens up.

Still amazed by this Leo walks into the room.

In the room the bed is to on one side about the size of a double bed having a similar feel to cotton sheets and quilt, the bathroom through a alcove with a window into every space in the room a wardrobe next to the window in the bedroom the walls are made of what appear to be a light pine wood but solid and the decorations are physically flower heads on the walls varying sizes neatly ordered, with a wall to ceiling mirror at the end of the bed, glancing into this he sees the stains of blood that have soaked into all clothes he has on.

"sigh."

He decide to have a shower after taking another look at the bathroom making sure it had one.

After getting out the shower using a towel that was in the bathroom walking into the bedroom he notices a floating crystal in the middle of the room close to the ceiling its totally transparent you only notice it because of the light bouncing off it the shape is a octahendron.

He walks over to the wardrobe hoping the last visitor had left some clothes opening it up it was empty.

"sigh."

He decides there's no other option except to put the rags that he came in back on.

After getting dressed he figures he will try and sell a couple of the Ripons since they seemed valuable and he had no money to pay for anything.

After gathering two Ripons under one arm he proceeds back out the smiling to the inn owner and asking a quick question.

"Hi, is there anywhere I can sell these Ripon?"

The woman smiling replies.

"No need to be formal, my name is Lizzie please use my name, as I assume you will be staying for a while, there is a shop just a little way down it has a symbol of a box with things in it as a sign."

With a smile on his face he replies.

"Thank you, Lizzie I'll be back soon."

Lizzie smiles at this and gently nods hey head.

Walking back towards where he remembered the door was the door opens, still amazed that he can't work out how the door works he asks Command.

"How do these doors work?"

Command responding

"The material that the house is made up of seems to be alive and as you walk towards it, I can see the energy gather in one spot making the outline of the door before opening, the reason it has no seams is because its moving the atoms it's made up of to do this, which is very unique Indeed i will need further analysis to give a accurate description as to why this is happening."

On hearing this looking back at the inn taking a moment to realize its alive, he is genuinely surprised by what he has just heard and the fact that there is some other unique property that the AI doesn't understand is also amazing to him.

He takes a steady walk down the middle of the building taking in the view, the floor that he is walking on is blocks of stone with the odd intricate pattern on them, there are what seem to be lamp post but they have the same crystal as what are in the bedroom

on top of them, there is also five running fountains all shaped like a circle spread out evenly between the buildings, through the center of the settlement.

Walking past a building with a open window he can see it is full of clothes, looking for a price tag he sees that there is Roman numeral for the amount MCCLXXIX looking at this he takes amount to work it out 1279 he says in his head.

After thinking for a moment he asks a question to Command.

"Can I use the HUD to overlay and show normal numbers for any symbols?"

Command replies.

"Yes one moment"

Feeling that he needs to blink the HUD changes as he does displaying all the roman numerals as plain numbers, feeling the relief behind this he let's out a sigh of relief.

Looking at the clothes in the window he looks at how they are show casing a pair of leather trousers that appear very durable with a price of 2300, next to it is a shirt Green in colour which shimmer like metal in the sun with a price of 10000.

Having no money at the moment he can not see the value of things so he keeps walking further into the settlement he finds the store with the symbol of what was described to him, a box with things inside it.

He walks up to where he thinks the door is and finds that hes wrong this time as nothing happens, as this happens a person walks out of the store the door is situated to the left of the building not then center like he had thought.

Smiling at a rather impressively dress man who is wearing what looks like a battle uniform of sorts

a leather over coat like a bike jacket all in black with strips of metal on the forearms, pauldrons on the shoulders that are ornate with a Cerberus head on one side, the chest is lined with plates of metal freely forming and deforming to the man wearing it.

The trousers leather as well with metal shin guards and knee braces that are layers of metal, he has a very impressive belt buckle of a Cerberus head, his boots are leather with metal encasing them in layers.

His head is decorated with a half helm that looks very similar to a basic roman helm with very little design to it there Is a slight hue of red it almost as blood has soaked in.

The man walking out the shop holding a box with what looks like bread and cheese with multiple glass jars filled with a red colored liquid inside.

He turns to look at Leo and nods giving a friendly gesture with his head.

Leo returns this with the same nod.

The man walks off up towards the bigger building at the end of the settlement.

Leo after watching this man for a moment decides to walk into the shop, on entering hes greeted with display cabinets and rows of shelf's littered with various goods which prices start from 10 to 55 whilst the items in the cabinets range from 500 to 50000.

After seeing this Leo still can't grasp the value of money so he walks towards the desk to talk to the shop owner.

He is met with a burly man with a leather apron on and a basic green tshirt underneath it this man is twice the size of him with arms that are more like gorillas carrying him self very similar as well.

He greets Leo in a deep voice slightly husky.

"What can I help you with traveler?"

Leo with a very simple response of putting the Ripons on the desk.

"How much you will to pay for these?"
