Chapter 75

The bedroom door opened and Jason entered.

"I know you're not sleeping" the mattress sank inwards as he sat beside me.

"Are you going to pretend that you're sleeping?"

I let out light snores.

"Should I kiss you to life?"

I opened my eyes and moved away from him.

"What do you want? I want to sleep"

He lay on my bed, I scooted away to the end of the bed and turned away from him, he lay at the other end, turning away from me.

"I also want to sleep. Go to sleep"

"Night"

"Night" his answer was quiet.

The silence stretched out between us, heavy and pregnant.

I forced myself to remain in one position without turning or tossing.

"Selene" a soft whisper.

I debated answering.

"Yeah"

"Are you comfortable there?"

"No" I answered honestly.

He turned to me.

"Want to cuddle?"

"Do you?"

"Only if you want to"

"Don't throw it back at me. Do you?"

"Yes"
