It took only two days without Tommy, and Becca managed to make herself completely changed. She looked more beautiful and graceful than before. She even changed her appearance with a simple but elegant impression. She no longer wore sexy clothes because she wanted to test how Tommy's eyes see her with a different appearance now.
A vintage dress was an option for changing her appearance. The colors were so soft that they matched her skin tone very well. And in fact, this was the authenticity of performing. It was with this appearance that Tommy loved her.
Becca sighed and looked at herself in the mirror. Today Tommy would return directly to his office. Of course, they would meet each other.
She was nervous, but she wanted to look like her old self. She was halfway through getting Tommy's attention. Now, she hoped that with her appearance like this, Tommy would find it increasingly difficult to turn his eyes and feelings away.
"Good morning, Becca. Wow... you're back in the old style?" said Anie, the receptionist.
"Morning, An. Ah... you still remember my old look. Yeah, I miss this look. What do you think?"
Anie pointed two thumbs at Becca. "It's better than the previous one. No offense, anyway."
"It's okay. I really appreciate your opinion. Thank you, An."
"Ah, Becca... I forgot that Tommy was on his way to the office. I think he changed his flight schedule earlier. Did he tell you? And he ordered me to you to make him breakfast," said Anie while looking at her notes.
Becca's eyes widened in shock. Since last night she had not replied to messages or received calls from Tommy. She did it on purpose. And she thought she would be fine. But apparently, Tommy used one of his employees to convey his message.
She sighed. "Then what else, An?"
"That's all, Bec. Are you going to do it or not?"
Becca nodded her head. "After all, as his secretary, I have to be professional, right?"
"Well, don't forget to bring out your charms. The man must be pulled back," replied Anie with a wink of one eye.
Becca chuckled and nodded. Then she excused herself to go to her desk and immediately prepared a perfunctory breakfast in the office pantry.
There were only a few ingredients in the pantry refrigerator. Inevitably, Becca chose to use these ingredients to make breakfast for her ex-boyfriend who was coming back soon.
As she prepared breakfast for Tommy, her heart was pounding. Like the first time they decided to live together, she herself took the initiative to prepare breakfast for him.
"Rebecca... I missed you."
A voice so deep, addictive, and startling, snapped her out of her activities. A sudden touch was behind her, making her gulp.
"You look more attractive in your old clothes than before," he whispered.
"Do not touch me!" this time Becca managed to jolt him and turn her around.
And without feeling guilty, Tommy smiled. He put his hands in his pants pockets as his eyes assessed the appearance of his ex-girlfriend. He seemed more satisfied watching her because Becca was facing him.
"I like this look better. Are you trying to please me?" asked Tommy.
But Becca chuckled and returned to being busy with the activities she had not finished. "Breakfast will be served in ten minutes. You'd better wait in your room."
"Fine. I also brought a present for you, Rebecca."
When the footsteps were gone, Becca glanced beside her and sighed when she saw that Tommy was gone. She was really nervous because of his sudden presence. Especially with the way Tommy hugged her from behind, a touch she hadn't felt in a long time and she also missed but she was reluctant to accept it openly.
With all the strength that had been gathered, Becca brought a tray of breakfast for Tommy. She entered the room of her ex-boyfriend who was also her boss and placed the tray in front of him.
"Is there anything else you need?" Becca asked politely.
Tommy, who was sitting leaning back, motioned for Becca to the object in front of her. "Open it."
Becca stared at a brown shopping bag in front of her. One of her eyebrows raised as she reached for it. She opened it and saw a box inside.
"What's this?" Becca asked.
"Just open it, Rebecca."
But Becca refused to open it. Her hunch said something unexpected was about to happen. It might have been wonderful if she and Tommy were still together, but not when they weren't even back together.
As she was about to take the box, she withdrew her hand, refusing to open it. "I'll open it later when we get to the apartment. Now, I have to work," Becca said casually.
Tommy's face conveyed seriousness. He stood up and took a deep breath. His fingers circled his desk as he drew closer to Becca. "As a Boss with his employees, I order you to open it. Right now."
His command tone was so domineering, but not once did Becca move to open it. She was actually afraid that if she opened it, her plan would fail.
"And as an employee who can refuse at any time, considering that all employees have rights, I don't want to open it now, sir," Becca replied, not losing to him.
"Rebecca..."
"What are you expecting, anyway? What's inside the box? You know I'm not too fond of surprises. And I really don't want to open it right now," Becca interrupted.
Tommy was silent for a moment. He needed strength and patience to respond to his ex-girlfriend who was so stubborn. If only they were in the apartment, maybe Tommy would have done something he had been holding back for a long time.
"And why do you look scared? I can see the fear in your eyes, Rebecca. If you don't want to open it, then I'll open it myself in front of you. There's no way out and you know, the door can be locked at my will," Tommy explained.
Becca felt cornered. Forgetting that Tommy could do anything to get what he wanted, she really didn't think much of it.
And finally, she opened it herself in front of Tommy. She dropped the bag and held the box.
With a pounding heart that was so hard for her to control, at the same time she felt as if she already knew, she slowly opened it.
There was a ring inside the box. And it surprised her so much.
"Will you marry me, Rebecca Jolie Moretz?"
