They were going to take turns raping the woman, until they bored of her and then they would
do all the evil acts on her now, because they lost two of their fellow gang members.
The thugs could not find the young woman, so they run upstairs and wreck the top floor, until there is also only one room remaining.
It was Bertha's bed room and the thugs kick at the door. But the door was propped up by a chair under the door.

Inside the small bedroom, there was Bertha and her little brother, Jack were trying to climb out the second story window.
Bertha climbs,"I know it is a big fall, but we got to jump. They will kill us both!"
Jack gets his nerve and starts to jump out of the window when the two thugs bust through the bedroom door. One of the thugs throw a knife at the back of the boy and he falls out the window. Bertha jumps through the window head first and as she is able to land safely with a roll as she lands. But Jack was not as lucky since Bertha found that he had landed back first unto the knife, She tries to get the boy to respond, but she found out that he laid there motionless.
Bertha cried out,"Come on Jack, wake up!"
She shook the boy but he would not respond.
The two thugs were half out of the window, when Bertha looks up at the sight of the thugs.
The young woman knew that she could nothing for Jack, as she runs into the alley behind her home.
One of the thugs was trying to climb out the window, when the other thug stops him.
The thug asks,"Why are you stopping me?"
The rear thug smiled and spoke,"We will get the ho soon enough, so let us enjoy the chase. It will make breaking her all that much more fun."
The other thug spoke,"You are so right! We will enjoy the fun!"

She managed to stay one step of the duo for over one month of sheer hell and terror. The thugs wanted Bertha to give up the struggle and relent to their advances.
But she would not let the thugs make her their private sex toy. The woman had no place to lay her head, as she struggled to find food yet alone housing. No place was safe from the thugs, as they toyed with her and played with her like a kid plays with their prized toy.
This went on for a long time until Joe saved her this very morning.

Bertha was crying when Joe pulls out a hanky out of his pants pocket and hands to her. She grabs it and cleans her face.
She says,"That you for helping me and offering me a home. This last month was so hard and I got so little sleep. I had lost everybody I knew as a family!"
Joe shakes his head and says,"You are an orphan no more, Bertha! You are now part of God's family and you have family all over the world. You need not worry any more!"
Bertha smiled down at the gentle giant.
He walked back to his neighborhood and it is pretty bare since most of the people are ether at school or work. He started to walk toward his grandmother's house where Joe and his grandma stayed at.
Joe speaks,"This my home and you can stay here or with one of the neighbors."
He knocked on the door and said,"Grandma it is me, open up."
Grandma had bad legs, so it took her while to get to the door and unlocked.
She sees her grandson holding his lunch with a strange young woman siting upon on it.
The old woman sees that Joe had given her his work shirt to wear and that the woman clothes
that were torn underneath the long shirt. The young woman's clothes had been taken off by some unsavory character and that Joe must had intervened.
Grandma opened the door all the way and gestured the two to come inside. Joe sets the lunchbox in front of the normal sized door and Bertha walks into the home. Joe then shoves the huge lunch bag into the house.
The young woman was grabbed by the old woman, so she would not be crushed by Joe's bag.
Finally, gets the bag into the room and then he struggles to enter the home himself. Grandma locks the front door after the pair and looks at the two with concern. She asks the pair what had happened.

Grandma cries,"I am so sorry Bertha that went through all that, but you do not have to worry about being homeless. You can stay here in the spare bedroom next to mine. Please do not leave since the gang that attacked you two will want payback. Joe you must stay home too, because they will attack the neighborhood while you are way!"
Joe had never missed a day of work before, but he would not have a choice this day. He would not leave his family and friends alone to battle gang members.
Bertha breaks out into tears and falls unto her knees out of frustration and also exhaustion.
She speaks,"I am so sorry that I had brought all this trouble upon you two! You do not deserve..."
Joe cuts her off and says," It was not your fault that those punks sinned! You are without fault in this matter. The great shadow wants to destroy your life and tell you that it was all your fault. It rains both on the just and the unjust."
Grandma holds the woman and comforts the young woman.
Bertha says,"Thanks!"
Grandma smiled and spoke,"Let us find you some you clothing to wear. I think I got some tall
woman clothes that I had for somebody that never came for them."
Grandma led the woman into a nearby bedroom.
Joe set down in a huge recliner and took a nap.
