Sweet distraction

---Sasha---

When I saw him enter, my heart started to beat. I realized that he didn't see me right away, which made me feel a little sad. Maybe I was expecting him to greet me or at least acknowledge me. While I was thinking about what he could be going through his mind. I noticed that when he stood in front of us and looked up, Louis' eyes opened with great surprise. It was not the reaction I expected, but it made me feel better that he was not ignoring me on purpose.

-Good afternoon. I am Mateo Borges, Ramé's representative, I wrote to you some time ago. It is a pleasure to be here with you. - My friend smiled and began to shake hands with the other two people. When he extended his hand to Louis, he was still looking at me until one of his companions elbowed him. I could see how his ears reddened as he looked at me and greeted my friend.

-Good afternoon, it's a pleasure. - Louis' voice was as pleasant as I remembered it. He ordered some documents that were in front of him.

-Brother, you are supposed to introduce yourself. - Whispered one of the young men as he shook his head in disapproval and let out a mocking chuckle.

- Allow me to introduce myself. I am the vice-president of the company Joseph. He is Sebastian, our lawyer and right-hand man. - He pointed to a young blond-haired man who had entered with him a few moments ago. -And, this is my brother Louis Truswell the CEO of the company. -

As soon as I heard that, my mind went blank. I didn't expect the guy I had talked to a few days ago to be someone so important. When I saw him, I realized that he was staring at me and my cheeks turned a little redder than usual. My friend noticed this and placed a hand on my back protectively, and I looked at him suspiciously. Louis' gaze became cold and distant, yet he did not take his eyes off me.

-Let me introduce you to this young lady. She is the writer I told you about and asked you to keep her identity secret. There are reasons why she hides her identity, but I hope it won't be a problem for a working relationship. - I smiled at the three people in front of me and tried to clear my voice before speaking.

-Good afternoon, my name is Sasha Aráoz. It is a pleasure and an honour to be here in this company. The fact that you have selected me even though you did not know my identity and background makes me want to work even harder to show you my gratitude. -

-Please take a seat. It is so important to us that you wanted to collaborate with us. We don't mind if you hide your identity. We respect that. Well, it looks like we can start talking about the basics of the work you will be doing, the payment for your work and other mutually beneficial terms. - Louis seemed to know a lot about what he was doing and talking. I felt a little strange that he was formally talking to me.

While the others were talking about the contract and stuff, I just pondered if our previous relationship. Well, it's not like we were close. But if we both worked together, we would have to see each other only for work stuff. It would be weird if Louis and I were dating, obviously as friends.

-Lady Sasha. Are you all right? - Louis' secretary's voice made me react. As I didn't know what they were talking about, I turned to look at my friend, and he smiled at me to confirm that it was all right. I smiled again and nodded my head. - Well, since they agreed, they could sign here. That would finalize what we talked about at the meeting.-

I was a little confused. Had I been distracted during the whole meeting? Hadn't we just arrived? How long did I spend thinking? I was trying to clear my head, but just then, they handed me the contract, and I signed it.

Once the contract reached Louis' hands, the others started talking about the importance of literature today, or something like that. My gaze was focused on Louis and only on him.

Although I had seen him a couple of times before, he looked much more handsome today. His combed black hair made him look more attractive. The suit fit him perfectly. I found it very charming to watch him do his job. I had never liked handsome men because most of them enjoyed going to parties or flirting with anyone. But when I met Louis, all my assumptions had changed. He was an example that I should not premeditate some things.

He noticed and smiled at me. A little later, he tried to tell me something with his lips. When he saw that I didn't understand, his smile grew wider, shook his head as he laughed. The others got up from the table and walked to the door. As I was sorting through some papers and other things, I felt someone stand behind me and bend down right next to my ear.

-You look so pretty today. That's why I couldn't pay attention. - My face turned completely red as I heard Louis' deep, sweet voice so close to me.

When I felt him walking away, I stood up quickly and managed to catch a part of his coat. He turned to look at me. He seemed to be confused by my actions, and when he was about to say something, I interrupted him.

-You also distracted me. - I said with a whisper. Louis just opened his honey coloured eyes full of surprise while a beautiful smile formed on his mouth.

- Are you saying I'm cute today? Or that I'm always cute? - He said in a mocking voice.

-Both, you always look cute. - I said almost instantly. Realizing what I said, I covered my mouth, grabbed my papers and walked out of the room, leaving Louis standing there with a slight blush on his face.
