We got up and put everything my friend had given us in his briefcase. Once we verified that all the entrances to the house were locked, we took the boys to the rooms they would be staying in that night. Ashley and I headed to our room and sat on the bed without saying anything.
-We didn't even eat. - I looked at my friend.
- Are you hungry? - I said as I leaned on her shoulder.
-No, I feel like after what happened today, if I eat anything, it will hurt me. - I couldn't help but laugh at the sad and forlorn look on my friend's face.
-You're right. - I lay down on the bed and sighed. Ashley soon did the same and looked at me.
- What did the boss say to you? - I could tell from her eyes that she was gossiping.
-He hasn't said anything to me since that day. - I sighed and looked at the ceiling.
- Not a single message or call? - She said as she sat up and looked at me.
-Nothing at all. - Ashley shook her head in disapproval and dropped her shoulders.
