Ch.16 Treasure

Inside the black walls. Life was being brought back in the village that was completly obliterated. The one ordering the bees to build a shappy little houses was none other than Raiz. It didn't matter what it looked like or if it even had a door, as long as it was a house on the front,Raiz was happy.

Above the village Moon resting his eyes. The nonstop mana transfer made him beyond exhausted. Moon felt something else was also being nurtured by his mana, and it wasn't just the Claustar city. The toll took on him and for the first time in his life ,he felt tired .

After Moon became sleepy, he decided to take a nap. While he slept, he dreamed. The dream was about a family that was destroyed and ripped apart. One of the family member discovered a scroll that led to all this.

------------

The horses ran towards the forest as they neared the forest border. Movements disappeared, leaving a few dark figures chasing the horses. They jumped between the branches as they closed down on the horses.

As long as we enter the forest, they will not be able to follow us, considering we are likely to die in the forest, he concluded. No matter what. They had more chances to survive in the forest rather than being slaughtered right here by the assassins.

In spite of the constant struggle, the men on the horses smiled despite being close to being caught. They were only a decoy and their job was to distract the enemies while as many family carriages entered the forest from different location.

One of the biggest reasons they could act as a decoi was the middle-aged man.He was the current family head and held a yellow scroll in his hand. He turned pale as he held the scroll so tightly. A complex thought raced through his mind.

Although he had come this far, the future still looked bleak. Just a couple of weeks ago his family was called Thundersons, one of the respected families throughout the big city of Veor. Their business was was richer than ever. With over 20000 people working for the family, including the outsiders.

Most families in the Veor wouldn't trust anyone that didn't have any blood related to the family. If they hired an outsider, they had to be monitored by one of the family members. Despite the other families relentlessly disagreement, the Thundersons decided to hire outsiders, so long as they were able to do the job.

One of the elder family members decided to distance away from all the city puzzlement and peacefully enjoy a walk in the mountain. His name was Green and as his name implied, the nature was his best friend.Just like any other day, while he was enjoying the beautiful natural environment, he came across a cave.

Due to his caring nature, the elder decided not to go. There could be lots of animal resting. Didnt need to court death yet he thought to himself.

Just as he turned away, he heard few beasts howl. The more he listened the more sure he was that the beast was coming towards him. He looked left and right. Three beasts were coming for him from all directions. As his instinct to live kicked in he immediately dived into the cave.

The further he went into the cave ,more he was getting lost in the darkness, as it was getting thicker with every step he took. The deeper he went ,slower his pace got. He went to the right side of the wall and slowly followed along until he felt safe enough to stop in his tracks. He sat on the ground, in the pitch darkest where he couldn't even see his hands.

After waiting in silence for god knows how long. He couldn't hear howlings coming from the beasts anymore. His feet were numb as he got up. He slowly traced his hands back to the wall and started walking toward where he came from. . Just as he took few steps, his hand had pushed the something on the wall.

The elder didn't expect the wall to get pushed and his weight helped to push it deeper into the wall. Finally, his hand stopped when it couldn't be pushed anymore. Before the elder could celebrate fom not falling, the ground on his feet suddenly opened up.

He fell through while he was yelling with all his might. As he opened his eyes after a long fall, the first object that caught his eye was none other than a skeleton. The giant dragon skeleton was in front of him. This scared the poor elder almost into the grave. He ran, screamed, and panicked before seeing that the dragon couldn't move.

Due to his cautious nature, he still didn't approach and carefully inspected from further away , only with his eyes. After making sure in every way possible with his eyes, he still didnt want to go but considering there was only one way road. He pushed himself toward the dragon.

He passed the enormous dragon. It may be dead but he was fearing for his life, just from the pressure the dragon bones were emitting. He did not want to imagine what would happen if it was alive. When he passed the dragon as carefully as he possibly could. A closed door made out of a stone came into his sight.

He pushed the heavy door slowly and what came into his view was a big hall with a mountain full of treasure. Instead of being happy for finding this heaven-sent place. He was more nervous than ever. His family was strong but it was only in the city. There were powerful human beings that could shatter the city with just a breath.

Just having a dragon in the entrance was telling enough of how disastrous this place could be. Nevertheless, he couldn't just leave. Since he was already in danger, he might as well get something for the family.

There were shining stones, in every color. He wasn't sure what they were called but he believed it was mana stones. There was gold, lying around like it was nothing. The ones that caught his eye were none other than artifacts. Four artifacts were in this treasure to be specific.

This sent him a great shock. Considering even most strong countries had at most 6 artifacts. At least the ones that were known to the public. Having four artifacts in the same room was never heard of before. Elder Green was breathing heavily as his heart was pounding crazily.

Even as appealing as they were. He had no intention to touch any of them, the moment he touched them. Not only his head would roll but also his family's. Avoiding what he called, the disastrous stars, he looked up and saw among the piles that there was a scroll.

He climbed up the piles of all kinda treasures. This was definitely dragon treasure and at the top, there was a yellow scroll shining brightly. This was it, elder Green didn't know what the yellow scroll was but since it was among these treasures. It had to be more valuable than he could think of.

He grabbed the scroll and looked at the other side of the mountain treasure, there was a tunnel. Hoping that it was another way out, he walked toward it. He looked one more time at the hall full of treasures but his eyes still struck to the artifacts that were still laying on the ground.

Fortunately, this tunnel was different from the cave that blinded elder Green. There were stones on the ceiling illuminating light. He walked more than 1km before stumbling upon a dead end. Remembering what happened at the cave. Green started to touch every part of the wall.

It didn't take much before he was able to push some kind of a button on the wall. He heard the sound of stone being moved but his infront was still a dead end. He looked up and saw that there was an open space in the ceiling, fortunately for him with a just jump he could climb it up.

Looking at the new environment, he felt it was very familiar. After inspecting more, he was sure now that he knew it. He ran and long before a waterfall stood before him. This was inside the cave and the waterfall was the entrance.

When he was little, he found a hidden place with his cousin. Remembering his childhood times, Green's mood became better.

Jumping out of the waterfall, he was again at the mountain. He immediately ran towards the city. The information he had needed to be handed to the family head. Arriving at the Thundrstons household looking horrid after running from the mountain. The guards barely recognized him, before respectfully opening the door for him.

He instructed the guards, to gather all the elders and the family head for an emergency gathering. The important family members gathered around on the notice. They didn't even bother to wear formal attires and just ran for the gathering as fast as they could.
