Chapter 129: Escape and Pursuit

At that moment, a sudden burst of footsteps came from behind Connor, sending shivers through his entire body.

The man continued, "Connor, do you believe me now?"

As Connor slowly turned his head to look behind him, he didn't see the man pulling a sharp dagger from his clothes and suddenly stabbing it toward Connor.

Somehow, just as the man was about to strike, Connor felt danger approaching from behind and instinctively turned around quickly, his hand reaching out to grab the man's wrist that held the dagger.

Even though Connor had managed to grab the dagger, keeping the sharp blade a little distance from Basil Jaak's neck, the man had the upper hand and pressed down on Connor, forcing him to his knees. The dagger inched closer to Connor's neck, nearly grazing his skin.

Connor desperately blocked the man's assault, sweat breaking out on his forehead as his breathing became rapid.

The man shouted, "Die!" and forcefully pushed the blade toward Connor.
