Chapter 44: Support!

Nagumo Miyabi came in front of Yuto; he sneered and said, "You haven't appeared for so long, I thought you were scared."

Facing Nagumo Miyabi's mockery, Yuto acted as if he had heard nothing, even lazily yawning.

Yuto's reaction made Nagumo feel frustrated, as if he had put all his strength into a punch, only to hit soft cotton!

"Let's cut the nonsense; what are the winning conditions for the two-person basketball game?" Yuto finally spoke.

"Hmph," Nagumo Miyabi snorted, "A thirty-minute time limit, whoever scores more points wins."

"Free throws count for one point."

"Balls shot inside the three-point line count for two points."

"Balls shot outside the three-point line count for three points."

Yuto nodded, indicating he understood, then asked, "So who will record the score, who will be the referee?"

Nagumo Miyabi pointed to a tall, middle-aged man, "I have already brought the PE teacher to be the referee; he will be responsible for timing and recording the scores."

Yuto glanced over, the PE teacher had a sinister look on his face, not looking like a nice person at all.

Since this referee was brought by Nagumo Miyabi, Yuto's eyes revealed a dim light, as he activated his mind-reading ability.

[This kid must be the freshman betting against Nagumo. Seriously, such a slender physique? Does he actually need my help? Oh well, easy thirty thousand points for me.]

Yuto slightly frowned; from the inner thoughts of the PE teacher, it seemed Nagumo Miyabi had bribed him with thirty thousand private points.

Thus, in the upcoming basketball match, the referee would definitely be biased towards Nagumo Miyabi.

Afterward, Yuto looked at Nagumo Miyabi with more disdain and contempt, as sports are supposed to be about fairness and competition, and this guy was actually playing dirty, what a despicable scoundrel.

"Since you've got a referee, I'll need one too," Yuto told Nagumo Miyabi, then took out his school phone to contact the familiar old man he played chess with.

Nagumo Miyabi frowned, but he did not stop Yuto from contacting others, as he had no legitimate reason to do so.

However, now Nagumo Miyabi was curious about who Yuto intended to bring over as his recommended referee.

While Yuto was calling someone, the PE teacher bribed by Nagumo Miyabi came over, asked a few questions, and learned from Nagumo Miyabi about Yuto contacting another referee.

"Tsk, this kid is a first-year student; who can he bring over to be a referee?" the PE teacher scoffed.

"He's probably just calling a friend or something," Nagumo Miyabi also wore a scornful expression.

However, the person who came to be Yuto's referee left both of them dumbfounded.

Dressed in a clean and solemn suit, neatly combed silver hair, a serious and no-nonsense expression…

Isn't this Chairman Sakayanagi!

As Chairman Sakayanagi stepped into the basketball court, the entire atmosphere in the area went silent, Nagumo Miyabi and others couldn't believe their eyes as they saw Chairman Sakayanagi standing next to Yuto.

The PE teacher with a sullen face hurried over, respectfully saying to Chairman Sakayanagi, "Chairman, what brings you here?"

"Well, Shimizu mentioned there was an exciting basketball match here, so I came to see; please don't mind my presence," Chairman Sakayanagi spoke in a businesslike tone.

The PE teacher warily looked at Yuto, who had a smiling expression; he never expected this freshman seemed to have a connection with the school's Chairman... to actually bring the Chairman here!

With the Chairman present here, even if the PE teacher wanted to favor Nagumo Miyabi, he wouldn't dare do so.

"Saito-san, don't mind me, just do what you're supposed to do," Chairman Sakayanagi's meaningful look sent chills down the PE teacher's spine, who nodded continuously in agreement.

The PE teacher named 'Saito' quickly returned to Nagumo Miyabi's side, whispering, "Chairman Sakayanagi seems to be the backer behind that kid, so I'll return your thirty thousand points right away!"

Saito wasn't foolish; he knew Chairman Sakayanagi came to support Yuto, so he wouldn't offend the school's Chairman for Nagumo Miyabi's thirty thousand points.

So now Saito told Nagumo Miyabi that he would conduct the refereeing fairly and impartially, without any bias.

Now, Nagumo was in no mood to respond to the PE teacher anymore; he was also shocked at the relationship between Yuto and Chairman Sakayanagi.

If Nagumo Miyabi had known earlier that Yuto had a connection with the school's Chairman, then he would never have picked a fight with Yuto!

Damn bastard!

At this moment, Nagumo Miyabi's heart was filled with frustration and unease.

Chairman Sakayanagi said to Yuto, "Shimizu, as agreed, I'm here to support the scene, and you can't refuse my chess invitations in the future."

"Okay." Yuto smiled and began to walk towards Nagumo Miyabi.

Watching from the side, Chabashira Sae looked strangely at Yuto's back, then at Chairman Sakayanagi; she murmured softly.

"Shimizu, this bad boy, why does he seem to know the Chairman? To actually have the ability to bring the Chairman over."

Yuto came in front of Nagumo Miyabi; he said, "The referee I called has already arrived; now we can start the two-person basketball match."

"Shimizu-kun," Nagumo Miyabi showed a friendly and kind smile; he said, "What is your relationship with Chairman Sakayanagi?"

"None of your business."

Yuto's unkind response made Nagumo Miyabi's face turn sour; he had already shown weakness, yet this guy was still so arrogant…

If Chairman Sakayanagi weren't here, he wouldn't have to be so humble!

Heh.

If Yuto hadn't used his mind-reading ability to know that Nagumo Miyabi had bribed the PE teacher, planning to play dirty, he wouldn't have contacted Chairman Sakayanagi at all.

So, it's all Nagumo Miyabi's fault.

Through Yuto's rude response, Nagumo Miyabi knew there was no chance of reconciliation between him and Yuto, so filled with frustration and anger, he decided to teach Yuto a harsh lesson on the basketball court, to humiliate him thoroughly through fair competition!

So in the upcoming match, Nagumo Miyabi was not going to be polite to Yuto.

Yuto and Nagumo stood in the basketball court, the vice president glared at Yuto with sharp eyes, as he threw the basketball to him.

"Shimizu, you can have the ball first. But after that, I'm going to shut you down and make you eat your words."
