From this point, I will try to make the chapters longer and have more substance to them compared to before :)
--------------------------------
There was a slight opening in the curtains which allowed for sunlight to shine perfectly in Lucy's eyes. It was more the warmth that woke her up than the light... as her eyes where closed.
As she woke up, only one thought came to mind, 'This has been the worst week ever!'
With a mere 6 days until Lucy and Miyu embark on their journey to NHS (It's a 2 hour car ride), Lucy has been restless. With all the excitement came what felt like an infinite amount of energy, however having to stay in Japan limited most activity's that came to mind.
'Hmmmm, I need something to do... but what? I want- no I need to do something with myself and martial arts just isn't doing it for me, it's just not as thrilling as it used to be when there where people who could actually put up a fight'
~sigh~ 'Maybe father was right, with how quick my body adapted to building muscle mass it may actually come down to good genetics'
'Now that I think about it, I wonder how Ryuen is doing'
"Miyu, I would like to take a walk to the dojo"
Lucy spoke out loud, as it turns out Miyu has been sleeping in the same room for the last four months. She would never admit it to anyone but it was Lucy that requested it, 'This is a secret that you must take to the grave' was Lucy's warning to Miyu.
"Okay, I'll be ready in 20 minutes." ~yawn~ Was spoken by Miyu whilst yawning and stretching her arms.
// 25 minutes later //
It was t 8:17 AM that two 15 year old girls could be seen walking down the road, one Japanese standing at 5 foot 7, with lilac colored hair and pink eyes. The other girl, English, standing at 5 foot 4 with naturally brown hair and blonde-caramel highlights. This girl had brown-golden eyes that took in everything around them, if only due to having a lot more energy compared to normal.
Since Lucy had taken over the dojo and essentially kicked the old master out, the local streets have been more peaceful than ever. The training that the students take on has become 3 fold and it shows in their skill, it has also become mandatory that students of this dojo respect those around them. Those learning in the dojo used to be the 'dangerous people' but have now been 'reformed'.
The word reformed being used in the way that means that Lucy's ideology is correct and that is final. Outside of a 20 mile radius is fair game, but the area around Lucy's home is to be kept peaceful. Should someone go against this ruling (and it has happened) then they will be excommunicated.
In this situation, the offender will sign a contract, that benefits Lucy greatly, that states that they will leave the district and never come back (with a 2 week grace period). If the offender does not sign the contract then there are men who can sort it out from there. Also if the offender goes against the promise to never return then.. well there are men who can take it from there.
Lucy also takes reparations for the initial 'crime' committed, not that the offender has a choice...
"Miiiyu?" Lucy began,
"What is it?" Miyu asked, as if she didn't know what the smaller girl wanted.
"Gimme a cookie," Despite knowing she won't get one, Lucy asked anyway.
"Lucy, you know that your not supposed to eat sugary snacks in the morning. Besides you've just eaten your breakfast not 5 minutes ago."
"oh, come ooooon! please, just one! I know you carry them around with you all the time!" She begged with puppy dog eyes, however at Miyu's giggle Lucy knew that she wasn't going to get it, "Damn that bitch! Stupid Gretta and her stupid, forced healthy eating"
"Come now Lucy, it's not that bad. How about we go to the dojo to blow off some steam?" Suggested Miyu, it was usually a good way to distract Lucy from boredom and stress.
'I know she created project scorpion for the money but I don't think she realized how much effort and time it would take to keep it afloat. Despite her hatred for anything that bores her, she does an excellent job. Currently we're the number three distributors for illegal weapons and substances in Japan. The Yakuza don't do anything to us as they have limited information on our leader as her anonymity is priority number one.'
'"Information is three quarters of the game" Lucy likes to say, and i'm inclined to agree. No even I know everything about Lucy and I have been around her since she was 6, honestly she is a very scary person. From listening to Gretta whilst she was on the phone, her mother was a prostitute. Andrew Hall was apparently going to cover up any connection they had toward him, however when her father found out about Lucy's smarts he married her and she coincidentally died the following year.'
'Lucy has obviously good instincts as she was the one to instruct me to spy on her for any indications that she is releasing information about her or her father. It turns out that Gretta is a long time friend of Andrew Hall, he has even bought on-phone counseling sessions because she was dealing with a lot of stress being in a different country all of a sudden and dealing with Lucy.'
Miyu took a peak at Lucy's facial expression when she saw Lucy happily skipping and munching on a half eaten, chocolate chip cookie, 'wait, when did she-'
Miyu went to reach in the back pocket of her jogging bottoms only to find that the pack of cookies where missing. She began to beret Lucy but they had arrived at the dojo and Lucy saw that as her best opportunity to get away, as she sprinted through the halls to the girls changing rooms.
'I swear that girls only concern is having a good time,' ~sigh~ 'she's such a child' Miyu thought with a small smile gracing her lips.
'Well, I better get ready for training... again. Why is she such a tough sensei?' She groaned, dragging her feet toward the changing room.
// Lucy's POV //
'i'm so excited! I have been waiting for 3 months for all of this to be ready! it's kind of a shame that I only have a week to wear this.'
Lucy had ordered a specially styled battle kimono, it was white with red lining, interlaced with real gold threads just beside the red, and a cherry blossom tree on the back. It took so long due to the fact it was 100% hand made with a comfortable material of the highest quality.
What really excited Lucy however was the 75 cm katana, the scabbard matched with her clothing; white with a red band around the bottom and cherry blossom petals flowing in the wind. 'It's just a shame I don't know how to use a sword' ~sigh~
Yes the sword was just for to look cool, she had no training what so ever in the sword arts. That 563,00 Yen katana will simply be a display piece despite it being a real blade.
Lucy walked into the dojo main hall with almost silent but confident steps, she looked up at the black characters that decorated a crisp white banner hanging above the door frame;Goodbye master and Miyu
"I like it!" at this everybody looked in her direction with a smile, these are the people that Lucy has spent hundreds of hours sweating, bleeding and training with for the last 5 or 6 years. It became common knowledge that she and Miyu will be leaving for the next three years, and obviously they wanted to plan a goodbye party for them.
Food was brought out and music was put on, it was also a great surprise to Miyu when she entered the dojo. All in all it was a great time until Ryuen joined in and brought drinks, it is a general rule that Lucy is not allowed to get drink as she can't handle alcohol very well. Due to her small body, she doesn't have a lot of body mass meaning that she gets drunk too quickly for others to keep up with. When Lucy gets drunk she starts confrontations with anyone and everyone, the bad part about that is the fact her fighting ability doesn't get any worse.
Last time they all drank, Ryuen's idea, Lucy was restrained by three people until she fell asleep. Of course had it been men or boys who attempted to restrain her, it would have only taken two as they have more muscle mass compared to females. It's just the fact that Lucy is so flexible so she can attack with any of her limbs and escape most holds.
In the end she just watched as every one else drank but had a good time none the less.
// That night, Miyu's POV //
I lay there in the bath as I think about what happened today, 'the party lasted until three O'clock. It had to stop because some random new comer entered the dojo demanding a challenge with the master of the dojo. That kind of put a dampener on the mood after Ryuen took care of him so brutaly.'
A giggle was heard by no one but Miyu, the thought of that confident man trying to fight Lucy was just to funny.
'I really am curious though, Lucy has been going on about how fun this school is going to be but refuses to go into specifics.' ~sigh~ 'She's such a pain in the ass' Miyu thought with a smile.
'I'm excited to see what this school has to offer!'
// That night, Ryuen's POV //
'Just 6 more days, and I will be leaving this place for three years. To be honest I almost don't want to, but you know something is worthwhile when Lucy says it is.'
A grin formed on his face, 'i was promised the chance to stop all grunt work and become the leader of my class if I play this right. Tch, damn that midget. I can't believe that she said this would be my best opportunity to crush her.'
'How can a simple school give me that opportunity? There must be something she knows that I don't.'
Unbeknownst to Ryuen, his smile got wider and his leg began to bounce in excitement, "OI, get me another martini!"
"R-right away!" The bar tender said with a slight tremor in his voice.
// 6 days later, Lucy's POV //
Three people sat in the back of a black, heavy duty truck with tinted windows. "we're almost there boss" came from behind the tinted window separating the front and back of the vehicle.
"Good," Lucy responded in a good mood, "now listen Miyu, Ryuen."
She didn't continue until she received two nods to acknowledge the seriousness of the topic at hand, "If any of us are in different classes then i want it understood that there has been absolutely zero connection between us before entry into that school." Lucy spoke with a tone that commanded obedience.
"yhea, whatever." Ryuen spoke as if the matter wasn't important but agreed anyway.
"of course, Lucy" Miyu nodded.
The car stopped and Lucy had one more message to the two before they entered the school, "It was fun being allies but now I want you both to promise me one thing," She gave it a moment to build suspense, "I want you two to have fun and give me a real challenge understand?"
The other two passengers shivered at the statement but nodded even though they had no clue what Lucy was talking about. "Good, then i'll be getting out first. Remember, no connection to each other before enrollment. Allen, take them to different bus stops and time it so they get on different busses please. You will be transferred 80k as a bonus, I won't be in need of you for the next 3 years."
"Thank you, boss. I will make sure they get on different busses." The chauffeur had a notable, lift in his mood at the new information of his pay.
// On the bus, Lucy's POV //
I stepped onto the platform of the bus expecting to look up and find him, the perfect human. My mood drastically fell as I couldn't see him, koenji or even kushida. It turns out that I won't get the ever famous bus scene of Kushida attempting to convince Koenji to move.
I sat down next the window and the empty seat beside me was filled almost instantly by none other than Ryujui Kanzaki. I remember him as a boy in class B, he was intelligent and went along with Ichinose's way of running the class.
'Do I talk to him? hmm, it seems I've hit a major problem. I don't know how to be friendly toward this total stranger, usually I just give someone an order and they just carry it out.'
'It's not like I can call on my social skills from my past life either, BECAUSE THEY WHERE NON-EXISTENT! Well, I can do nothing but try right?'
"Hello, my name is Lucy Hall, and you?" I spoke to him in the most 'normal' tone I could, but that last part came out more like an order than a question! 'uugh'
He turned to look in my direction, no problem with eye contact at all and spoke with a sure tone, "My name is Ryuuji Kanzaki, nice to meet you miss Hall"
'Miss Hall? That just doesn't work for me.'
"Please call me Lucy, I'm English so it is fine to use my first name on our first meeting. Actually, I would prefer it if you did."
"I see, then it is very nice to meet you Lucy" hmm, he is quite expressionless, like not completely but... wait is he bored of me already? no way right?
"What class have you been placed in Kanzaki?" I asked with a clear voice.
"I'm in class B, and you?"
"Well it seems you'll have to wait until next chapter to find out!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the longest chapter so far, please tell me if you prefer them like this
I think this chapter was better than the others when I read it over
Also I thought of using honorifics but when I read over the chapter it just felt a bit cringe so i decided no to, did I make the right choice?
thank you for reading!
I think i'll be making longer chapters with a word count over 2k for now on as it just felt so much better to read.
One more chapter and we will find out what class Lucy has been placed in!
