2 Is this punishment?

The old man was about to erupt for how shameless Jack was acting in front of him and he thought. 'His basically trying to put me on a corner.'

"You... Kid. Dont you know there's a saying? 'Don't bite off more than you can chew.' Your obliviously trying to trick me to accept an unreasonable request!" The old man said angrily. For how long was he guarding this place and keep maintaining this place? Even though he was old, it doesn't mean that he has gone senile.

"But, you said it your self old man! Are you renegading your promise? I knew i can't trust you! You can't even grant me my small request." Jack acted as if he was angry but wasn't. 'If this old man does not agree to my request then i can only concede, least something happens and his sending me to hell in the next moment.' Jack thought about his next course of action.

"Your saying i'm incompetent?! Very good lass! Never heard someone insult me in front of my face before." The old man grunted. The old man of course knew that he was being provoke and thought nothing of it.

"If your not incompetent, then why couldn't you grant me my request? Why? because you can't do it?" Jack said.

Jack was just testing the limits of this old man, if something goes wrong then he can only stop this unreasonable request of his.

"Hmph! How dare you question my ability! If i want to, i can even make a dead man an immortal in the next moment." The old man said proudly. Not gonna lie, all the words he said were all true and did not contain any falsehood.

"Heh! Your just boasting now, old man! If you can do that, then why can't you give me the ability that i want then? What a liar. Hmph." Jack snorted. Of course in the inside he was thinking that the old man was going to be tricked easily this made him grin, so he wanted to strike while the iron was hot.

"You...!" The old man flared.

"You? What you?" Jack retaliated.

"Very good then! Fine! I grant your request, but on one condition! You must not be soo brazen and conceited, you must help other's in need and grant their request. of course whatever you do in that world is up to you, but you must remember their's always consequences behind ones action." The old man warned seriously.

When Jack heard the first half, he was happy of course who would not be happy about it? Having wishes everyday, who would not be willing about it? But when he heard the second half that there was a condition and a warning his joy deflated. He instantly flared up.

"Wait up old man! Why would i have those condition and those people on the novel's doesn't, this is too unfair! They can act happily and merrily and I can't? And it also sounds like your making me go in a Lamp and act like a Genie in front of other's! What the heck! This is such a big loss for me old man." Jack shouted dejectedly.

He felt that his incoming days are gonna be hard. Even though the old man agreed to his request, he was not expecting the old to agree to his unreasonable request in the first place, he was happy, but when he had a mission to become those 'Alladin' Side pals he was dejected.

Jack didn't like to be restrained and he wanted to roam the world freely and carefree. He wanted to see those fantasy of his dreams become life like, and also want to be the one who would like to save a damsel in distress like a hero, but unfortunately that was all a pipe dream and he thought to himself. 'Is this punishment give to me by the the old man? It came too fast.' He could have simply wish for a system a bit lower to his request, that would have been better and he doesn't have to be retrained. He was truly regreting it.

When the old man saw the dejected face of Jack he was smiling on the inside and thought. 'Hehe! want to provoke me in giving you an over powered ability? And letting you roam freely without any troubles? Dream on! You have to be atleast septillion years old to achieve that.'

"It's also a big loss for me, didn't you know? Giving you such an overpowered power and not sending you straight to hell right away is truly a pity." The Old man shook his head showing a slight pity. But when it came to Jack ears he was sweating, because he felt that if he talk down on the old man again, then down the gutter he goes.

"But...Ol..." Jack wanted to reason his way out and smooth talk not to be restrained. But before he could he was interrupted by the old man.

"No buts! Atleast i gave you a chance, if you decide to grab it then that means you accepted my condition and will not talk back to me anymore. If you don't, then... Hmph!" The old man said seriously with a hidden glint in his eyes.

When Jack saw that glint and how serious the old man said his threats, he could only shallow his cursing words and shut up and do what he need to do by this old man.

"Yes, Yes, I understand! I know that the old man is the most graceful and most forgiving human who had once walk once on the entire universe and the earth..." Jack was forcing himself to smile and was prasing the old man endlessly, but he was crying in the inside, but still forced himself.

When the old man saw Jack's attitude he was delighted and laughed. "Hahaha! Now you know how merciful I am! Im the God who decended and gave you all life! Hahaha..."

Seeing the old man laughing to himself, Jack thought. 'A God? It looks like your the little devil who everyone fears.'

...

Now that everything have settled down, Jack asked. "Right Old man, what do i have to do?"

The Old man was stunned about the question. Firstly, he didn't know that it would come to this point. Secondly, he didn't know that the human before him would make an unreasonable request. Thirdly, he didn't think of any mission before hand, because most people who had transmigrated would not get restricted by him upon making their request. That's why he was stunned, this was his first.

After some contemplation the old man slowly composed himself and coughed twiced and said. "Ehem... Right! I will give you what you requested, but granting you wishes everyday is not acceptable. How about this? Granting you 1 wish after three days? How about it?"

"What?! Only 1? And i have to wait for three days to get my wish? Old man isn't restraining me not enough? Can you atleast give me some leeway old man?" Jack retorted.

"Hmph! I already gave you a chance and your already complaining? At least i didn't say that i would give you 1 wish after a month. I'm already merciful to you and you want to reject? Hmph." The old man snorted.

"But... Fine! Do what you want!" Jack harummphed. Even though he dissaproved, he was still satisfied, just thinking about what the old man said made him quite fearful and was thinking to himself. 'What if the Old man changes his mind again ang give me 1 wish after a month?' Just thinking about it made Jack shivered and didn't talk back anymore.

"Alright, im not done talking yet. When your there, the system will automatically give you 3 wishes, but first i must forbid anything related to your wish increasing or else. Secondly, it's either up to you to help someone, or its up to destiny or fate. Lastly, you must not wreck havoc wherever you go, got it?" The Old man said.

"That's all i have to do? That's easy!" Jack was delighted instantly. He felt that he was not that restrained as he thought, because he was already planning to live a simple life in the new world and be low-key, but when he heard the old man speak again he was instantly shot down from his own dream.

The old man said. "But if you don't help 10 people within 1 month, hehe... then you can say goodbye to your new life." The old man chuckled.

"What?! It's not easy to help everybody if i only have limited wishes, doesn't it? On top of that, I need 10 people to help?! This is just to cruel of a punishment old man!" Jack said while almost crying.

This must be a joke! If i need to help people every single month, then wouldn't i not be any different than a slave helping its master? And what about my wishes? This is absolute torture!

"Think of a solution yourself." The old man was grinning from ear to ear. 'This lad must be punished for what he did. Hehe...' The old man thought.

"Then, can i remove that condition somehow? There's must be something right?" Jack begged the heavens that there must be a solution so he can keep his insignificant life.

Unexpectedly the old man replied. "There is... but you need to accumulate a lot of merits for that. The required amount is 100 Million merits." The old man then chuckled.

"What?! I need to gather that kind of ammount? Wouldn't i need to work my butt off to gather that amount?" Jack almost burst out to tears for that huge amount.

When he heard that there was a solution he heaved a sigh of relief, atleast he could preserved his life, but when he heared there was a catch he almost cried. In his mind he was thinking. 'You must be kidding me?!'

"That's right! but... there's different kind of rewards as well. You can just see for yourself." The old man said secretively.

"What is it old man? Tell me about it." When Jack inquired the old man, he didn't say anything. He could only say. "Fine then!" Jack no longer bothered asking.

...

Seeing this the Old man finally said. "Alright were done here! Time to send you to that world! Off you go!" Suddenly, Jack was surrounded by light particles he was dazzling to see. Seeing what's happening around him, he felt that he was getting dragged away by this mysterious light.

"Oi! Wait, Old man! I still have some question to ask! Wait." Jack shouted, but the old man didn't care and said.

"You can go now. in the future there might be some additional mission" The old man laughed evily and waved his hands.

"Oi...!" Not long after the dazzling light disappeared like thin air along with Jack.

...

Today proclaims the death of Jack, and in the future will be the birth of a legend that everyone admired and feared.
