[THE CAUSE OF THE CURSE]
I don't know from where or how I got the courage to get out of the throne room but when I was finally out, I felt like I did something wrong. They were elders and I walked out on them, won't they think am being disrespectful?
"Wow mum, How did you do that? You were great in there, I've never seen you this calm but strong before." I heard Chesa saying while walking behind me.
"Oh my goodness, that means I was right, I've been disrespectful to the elders, what will they think of me?" I said to myself but didn't answer Chesa's question.
Just when we were getting to the carriage that brought us, a man I don't know approached me in a hurry and stopped me by crossing my path.
"Your Majesty, sorry I stopped you, please forgive my rudeness. I want you to be mindful of who you trust from now on, I know you being in comma for that long isn't a coincidence. Don't let His Majesty over power you, that throne is yours." The man said and disappearing just as he came, not allowing me to ask even his name.
" Mum, are you coming, we have to go to the Royal Harem." I heard Chesa calling me from the carriage when she noticed I wasn't with her, which proved to me she might have not seen the man I was talking to.
" We are not going to the Royal Harem, I need to rest my head." I said as I walked to the carriage, which surprised the ladies.
" Your Majesty, I thought you wanted to see the second wife of His Majesty? Lucia, the quiet one among us all asked.
"I wanted to see her but not anymore, let go to my residence." I said and instructed the footmen.
I was in a hurry to get away from the Abura Palace as far as possible, I didn't want anyone bringing me another warning. I went straight to the study room immediately I got to my residence, I didn't know if I should even call it mine because everything and everyone in and out of the building looked different to me.
I sat at the desk and the ladies including Chesa entered in a hurry, I guess they've been running after me because they were panting like they just run a mile.
"Your Highness, since when did you learn to walk this fast, you didn't even miss a step and you found your way here." Lora said with a hoarse voice, but I didn't give much thought to her statement.
They came close to the desk and I saw Chesa lifting her hand, I stood up and stop her by saying " Let sit on the sofa. " I didn't want to see anymore magic powers or whatever they called it. My body was burning already.
"Your Highness, I already sent information to the Royal Harem that you are not coming anymore, but I couldn't tell when you'll want to go there." Lora said as we sat on the sofa.
" I might not be going there anytime soon, I want to master what you call my powers and get to know everything I need to know about the people around me. I can't mistake someone for the other." I said as I crossed my legs after sitting on the sofa, and the ladies all nod in unison to my statement.
" So tell me Lora, why do you call me Your Highness when everyone else calls me Your Majesty." I was just trying to start a conversation, and also to know how close she was to the owner of my current life.
" Sorry Your Majesty, but you asked me to call you that, after noticing I couldn't change my tongue into calling you your Majesty, days after your marriage with His Majesty and you became the queen." Lora explain and I noticed she was getting scared of what I might do.
" Talking about marriage, why don't you tell me who Marcus really is, I mean His Majesty." I said and relaxed in the sofa knowing it might be a long story.
" Your Majesty, we don't know him that well, but from the little I know, he's the descendants of the Great One (first king) who's destin to marry you in lifting the curse that's separating the kingdoms." Lora said with her head bowed.
" What curse are you talking about, was I cursed?" I asked in fright. Wondering what I did wrong to be cursed.
" Not really Your Majesty, but it was said that a female and a first born to the royal family, was to marry a male first born from the other half descendants of the great one, who is of the same marriageable age. And His Majesty came claiming he's the one destin to marry you." Lora explain.
" And why was I to break a curse, who is the cause of the curse anyway." I asked and Lora stood up to get something from the huge books shelves and return with a long scroll in her hands.
" Your Majesty, this is your family tree and it history, you'll understand it better if you read this. Lora said and handed the long scroll to me.
... Monologue.....
Before a kingdom was found, sacrifices were made. Animals own a land but humans were strangers. The most powerful ruled, but the weak had no place. To kill was to survive and to leave you must know. The power you thought you had was nothing to what was, and to be an owner you must conquer. Living was an option, but death was nothing compared to life, yet I chose to be alive.
The Great One, is what they call me, but am nothing close to it. To survive in a land where the rulers were beast of all kinds, I had to sacrifice my wife and only child. Being a stranger to a land of supernatural powers, I had no place.
I had to know the ways of the animals so I could leave among them. Little by little, I killed the week and became friends with the strongest, but to conquer the land was my goal, so I seek the knowledge they had but got the power they own.
I knew if I can live and own the land, I had to choose between life and death, but I could have life only if I go to death itself. With the help of the good ones, I killed the bad beasts, and became the first human king they new, strangers then became owners and rulers.
Civilization reached me and I married again, but when my wife gave birth to a set of twins, my doom begin. The power I had stolen, both the good and bad was transferred to my two boys, indicating it with the difference in their hair and eyes color. The oldest with gold hair and golden brown eyes, and the young with black hair and red eyes, which was unusual for everyone but me.
I loved the youngest, so I could change him to be good, but he misunderstood my love. His quest to become the next king was the cause of division in the kingdom and its people.
My oldest Kenneth, the would be King of Celestial Kingdom, and my youngest son Kingsley, the now King of the Kingdom beyond the boundaries. He took my lands and made it his own, fighting against his older brother and my people.
With his power of darkness he almost killed my beloved wife his mother, Queen Mulghana. But to save her, I sacrificed my life and I might die soon, so before I die I'll use all my remaining strength to curse them, in both good and bad ways, to get them back together as an empire.
.... End of monologue....
I couldn't believe what I just read, but my mind told me there's more to it, and if am to break this curse I needed to know it all. Maybe Marcus wasn't a bad person as I thought. If so, he wouldn't think of braking a curse he knows nothing of, just to save his kingdom.
"Lora, what was the Kingdoms curse with exactly?" I asked thinking of ways I could help them out of the curse I don't even know about.
"Your Majesty, please read feather, it all there, including the family tree." Lora said, pointing to the scroll I was still holding on to, like my life depends on it.

*Dew shall cover the lands stolen from it rightful owner, and the people in it shall know no peace. But the main land shall prosper and lack nothing. Your descendants will inherit your power and your curse, yet no man from a land will set foot on, or see the other land.
Untill a first male born from the darkness, marry a first female of the same marriageable age, born from the light. Only the two shall be able to cross the bridge from their land to the other, and when they meet, their hearts will lift the curse when their souls accept each others in whole.*

"I doubt if he's the one, because my heart doesn't accept him, not even half to talk of whole." I said after reading the curse.
" But Your Majesty, if he's not the one, how did he crossed the bridge, till now no one has ever been able to cross, but only you can, because you are the only first born, who is a female from the second King's descendants." Lora prompt me.
" We are yet to find out about that. I can't accept him till I get to know the entire truth about the curse." I said and rolled the scroll, before handing it back to Lora. I had no intention of accepting Marcus as my destine husband, even if it meant leaving the boundaries there forever.
