CHAPTER NINETEEN

Sabrina POV

I stare at Adam. “What was that all about?”

He explains that he wants her.

He is telling the truth.

For a while, I am shocked.

What is so good about this new wolf that it's got all the men in a tizz?

Then I laugh. “This is so dumb.”

“What?”

"You are young. You do not know your heart!"

He is not laughing.

"I know I would make a better Alpha than Shane."

I growl at that.

"Shane is the best alpha."

"He is a fool."

"He is not," I say.

"He does not know what he is doing."

"Yes, he does. He is a better Alpha than you will ever be."

Adam's face twists with anger. "So you do not want me to try to kill him?"

I gasp to hear him talk that way. "Kill him? Of course I do not!"

"Why? Because you love him? Even though he does not care about you? Even though he has only ever used you?"

He laughs, cruelly.

I am insulted.

"You are a young wolf, Adam," I snap. "You know nothing."

"I know more than you give me credit for."
