Awakening

Jakarta 2021

At a breakdawn. Inside a hospital's room, lied on a man with bed name tag MARDI DJAMANHURI. He has been lying there for two months. He was on coma after doing an assault to confront a party of criminals at a city called as "Pempek City".

At the time, he was alone. No one had come to visit him since a week ago. Just some nurses or doctors had visited him to ensure his condition.

But at this moment, the man aged thirty years old is moving his hands slowly. Then he opens his eyes.

"Where am I?" he muttered then looking at a digital clock which has calendar in it.

He was surprised when looking at the calendar.

"What? This is impossible. I has been sleeping for two months?" he muttered on confused.

When turning his view to windows, he jolted after seeing a weird thing was hanging on outside the room. The thing was look like a human with wolf's head. It has two pair of eyes that closed. It might is sleeping.

But, when the man named Mardi stared at the thing for long, suddenly it awakens. It's four eyes are glowing red, looking at Mardi.

The creature suddenly breaks the glass until destroyed. It hits Mardi until be thrown from his bed.

The creature was hitting Mardi several times. But Mardi was trying to fight back by smacking the creature using patient's tripod.

"What the hell are you? Why do you attack me? What is your problem to me?" Mardi said while fighting the creature. "Oh, you can't speak, demon!"

The creature suddenly roars causing a blow of wind hits Mardi's face.

"Fuck! Your breath is very stink! Don't try to roar before my face again, devilroar!" Mardi shouted while smacking the creature's head using the tripod.

The creature called DEVILROAR roars when falling down to the floor. Mardi succeeded to beat the creature.

"What are you exactly? Are you only one? You won't answer because you have bug in your tongue," Mardi said while being ready to smack the Devilroar.

Suddenly the Devilroar stabs it's chest using it's hand's sharp nails. After did that, the creature growls then vanishing leaving dust on the floor.

Mardi stunned on his position after seeing the incident. He felt curious about the incident.

Then he looks at nurses and doctors who have come to Mardi's treating room. They looked at Mardi amazedly.

"What's happened, sir? Did you break the windows?" one of them asked.

"The important is you have awaked of your long sleep," a man weared doctor clothes said as he approaching to Mardi.

Several minutes later inside doctor's office.

"So, there were no one visited me? That's pathetic. But my thanks for you is great. I owe to you and the others of this hospital worker. Sadly I have to leave. I miss my hometown, my family. They must be waiting for me," Mardi said when sitting on chair before of the doctor.

"Yeah, I know that. If I were you, I must have same feeling as you felt," the doctor said.

Mardi nods his head.

"Alright. It is time to go. I will come home first if there are no something prevent me to do that. Good bye, doctor Herman," he said as he getting up from his seat.

"Farewell, mr. Mardi. Nice to see you," doctor Herman said when accompanying Mardi to get out from the room.

Meanwhile in a side of road at a night, a woman is running while several meters of her position there is a weird thing chasing her.

"Everyone, help me!" the woman screamed in terror.

The weird thing is a Devilroar chasing the woman on flying position.

Several moments later, the Devilroar succeeded to catch her and pulling her up. The woman screamed when be brought by that creature in the sky.

In the morning at an apartment located in South Jakarta.

Mardi watched the television seriously.

"The creature is not the only one. It has taken a woman last night. I have to investigate it," he muttered then shut the TV down.

Mardi takes a jacket colored blue with hood. He wears it. Then he goes to leave his apartment.

Just a few steps he left the apartement, a girl who known by him is approaching. The beautiful girl who wears a red minidress stares at him.

"Mardi? You have awaked. Why didn't you call me?" the girl said.

"Veli, what are you doing here? Where do you know my new apartment from?" Mardi looked at the girl.

"I have eyes to keep an eye on you, honey. So, I would know anything about you," Veli said as she smiling.

"Nice dress, Veli. We need to talk," Mardi said while staring at Veli.

"Thank you, Mardi. Talking about what?" Veli said as she asking.

"Have you seen news lately? It's about the flying werewolf. It has taken a woman. A woman who was coming home at night. I guess the flying werewolf I called it Devilroar will take everyone who walking alone," Mardi explained.

"So, where will it take the people? I'm not really interested in the matter. I'm dizzy," Veli said lazily.

"I have no idea. But I need to investigate that. Perhaps there is something dangerous lurking human kind. We've been against the super criminals such like Matsakumi, Egdodase, or Margon's mist. That is not impossible for us to face another big threat," Mardi looked at Veli.

"Relaxe, Mardi. You just woken up after been sleeping for two months. You should think about your live. This insignificant matter must be gotten rid for a while," Veli said.

Mardi shooks his head.

"I will live in peace when the mystery resolved. Please give me more times to do what I want to do," Mardi said while staring at Veli.

Veli stunned on her position. She just looked down when Mardi left her.

"Stubborn as I knew when we were in Qahal City," Veli muttered.

Meanwhile Mardi. After leaving Veli, he encountered a movement of the Devilroar. The creature apparently came out from a cave located near a modern city named Kayara.

The city is located at southern province of Banten.

Mardi has tracked them by satellite imaging. In this era, the satellite imaging is in modern steps. So, everyone can track movement of something moves such like airplane, birds, etc.

"So, they came out from the cave. What is the thing in there?" Mardi muttered.

After found the origin location of spawn place of Devilroar, Mardi went to train station with intention to go to Kayara City.

But at middle of his journey, Veli came with her gangs.

"We are coming with you, Mardi," Veli said.
