Chapter Eighty-Five: Dark hoodie.

Marcus stood in a pool of blood staring over a corpse and an unconscious body. The knife that had ended a certain gentleman's life remained plunged in the flesh, still in the spot from which liquid life had flowed out. Claudia was not too far away, in shock as she watched disbelievingly at the horror before her eyes.

"What just happened?" she asked as she interchangeably gazed at the lifeless bodies and at the husband she had long back abandoned. 

She heard footsteps coming in the hallway and ran to intercept. She did not want her children to see what she was seeing. It would be trauma that would enslave their peace in the phases of life to come. Marcus did not want either, but he was so disoriented that everything happening around him was all a big blur. All he could do was stand as he took deep breaths with hands shaking as if he was a hardcore addict craving a hit.
