He did not know what was the reason for his changed attitude towards Francheska. How come a man who looks at that girl like a treasure suddenly abandoned Francheska and looked at her with disgust on his face? Race cannot help but feel anger towards Iñigo. His feelings for her are cheap.

Afterward, more misfortunes came to Francheska's life. Her status in her family slowly got deteriorated, her mother got involved in an accident, her parents got divorced, Francheska and her mother left their house, and her own father disowned her.

Race cannot understand it. Why does she have to experience it all? She did nothing wrong. All she did was to give her best to make everyone around her happy.

In the end, Francheska is still transferred to a different school and lives with her nanny and mother in a small villa. Race and Francheska still have communication with each other. He thought of giving her some time to heal herself, so Race tried to put a little distance between them. But once again, he did another wrong decision in his life.

He received news that Francheska was leaving the country to go abroad. It was really unexpected news for him. Race rushed towards the airport hoping that maybe he can change her mind not to leave. He does not want her to leave like this. When he arrived at the airport, Race saw Francheska standing in the boarding area. Race rushed towards the boarding area and stopped Francheska who was about to give her boarding pass to the flight attendant.

"Why are you leaving?" Race asked her with seriousness in his eyes.

"Race, this is my only option to change my life."

"But Francheska, you can change your life even if you stayed here. The people you cherished are all here, right? And I...I am also here to support you. I promised you that I will never leave you, right? Please—"

"Race." Francheska called his name. "For now, I do not want to stay in this place. Race, if I try to stay here while I am in this condition, I will surely despise being here."

"Francheska..."

"Race, this is not the right time for us. Both of us are not in our best version of ourselves. I lose a lot of things and you are still struggling with your own problem. Starting a relationship now is not a solution to our problems."

Of course, Race was aware of it. Nothing will change just because they have feelings for each other. Francheska will never move on from her dreadful and sad experiences while Race will stay troubled with his personal problems. He knows that feeling alone is not a solution for everything.

That is why Race let go of Francheska's hand. He was letting her go so she can be strong enough to face her problems. Race was letting Francheska go so he can also change himself for the better. They are letting go of each other so both of them can grow and walk the path they choose for themselves.

But before Francheska disappears in the boarding area, Race promised her something.

"The next time we meet each other, I promise you that I will never let you go again."

Francheska did not say anything. But instead, she shows him a smile. A smile that is full of hopes and dreams. It was also the same with Race. After giving Francheska his promise, he did not say anything more. Race only stares at her eyes as if he was memorizing each detail on her face.

Race did not say goodbye to Francheska. For him, saying goodbye will put an end to their connection with each other and Race does not want that to happen. Race is sure that they will meet again in the future. And when that time comes, Race will have the capability to protect her without any restraints.

And after a few years, they finally meet again. A lot of things had already happened. There are things that already changed in just a few years. But the only thing that never changed is his feelings towards the girl in his arms.

Just like what he had promised, Race will never let her go again. Looking at the beautiful woman in his arms, Race shows her a confident smile.
