TYLER’s POV
“Amnesia?” my heart felt like being squeezed violently until it burst into dust. “H-how did it happen?”
“Sir, Miss Stella had an accident four years ago. She was crossing an intersection all the way through here, in Cooper’s Enterprises—maybe to talk to you and tell you that she was pregnant when she was hit by a car,” Kiefer explained with a sad expression. “We’ve looked through all the hospitals in Boston, and she was admitted into one of them.”
“Is that the reason why she forgot everything?”
“Yes, Sir.” Kiefer took a deep breath, as if bracing himself to deliver another information to me. “They said that she lost a part of her memory because of the brain damage she got from the accident. Her condition was very critical.”
The world around me felt like crumbling. Like the air in my lungs was sucked out, and I felt like someone had just pushed me on the wall, hard enough to break my head.
