Chapter 18: Future
All Greg wanted was to get back home to Daniella. He'd always hated being away from her, but never more than now, when she was in so much pain and distress. She needed someone to comfort her, and he wanted to be that person. But instead, he was stuck here.
The council meeting had taken almost four hours, much longer than he had initially expected. All because of Zachariah's bullshit. While many of the council members held Greg in high regard, they weren't known for their patience or sympathy. Some members went as far as to state that the vampires Greg lost were a sign of his weakened power and authority. He knew what they were up to. They just wanted his territory and were willing to use any means to get it, even unsubstantiated rumors. Fuckers.
