Unwanted Child

The bunny licked Tian Cai's ear and purred. Eyes scrunching, Tian Cai threw Ling Fan a pleading look.

Help me!

Ling Fan understood his intention without speaking. However, just how was she supposed to save him from a fat bunny? She was about to bow and give her greeting however, the bunny squeaked.

With a hop, it jumped into her arms and she stumbled back with the weight.

"Big Brother, you recognize my Disciple? Indeed, as always your intelligence knows no bounds. Little Junjie, why aren't you bowing yet?" snorted Shensheng.

Junjie squealed lowering his head to the ground.

"Big Brother, before you is Little Sister's probationary disciple Ling Fan and this my mount-to-be Zhu Junjie. As you can tell, he is a Heaven Swallowing Boar. If you like Disciple, Sister can lend her to you as your mount."

Ling Fan's face blackened.

She was about to kick the pig's rump when the rabbit nibbled her ear. She shuddered.

Why was this happening to her?

She looked at Tian Cai. He was happily brushing off his shoulders. Somehow, he was mysteriously shifting backward. Didn't it seem like he was about to turn and run?

However, the bunny noticed his actions and its eyes flashed red.

A tree behind Tian Cai was cut in half. He froze, the sweat dripping from his face like rain. Face twitching he smiled brightly. "Sister Ling, you look so beautiful today. I see my rabbit has taken a liking to you. In light of the good relationship between our clans, how about I give it to you as a gift?"

The rabbit hissed and twin beams spanned out behind Tian Cai. The left side of his manor collapsed.

Shensheng chortled, "Big Brother, you always are like this. You get attached to a place, you never want to leave. Sigh, how Sister misses our younger days."

Tian Cai's face blackened.

Gritting her teeth, Ling Fan said, "Master, Disciple promised to take the Fairies shopping. So this Disciple can't stay much longer."

"Sister, he seems to like you. Why don't you hold him a bit longer. Someone bring carrots and dark leafy greens. It'll make him happier if you feed him."

Ling Fan bit her gait. She glared at Tian Cai.

Tian Cai nodded his head and smiled mischievously.

Thank you for saving me, Little Sister.

"Disciple, its your honor to be able to hold a Divine King. When the food comes feed him well. If he burps, wipe his mouth. If he's thirsty, you be sure to find him the purest of waters."

Tian Cai chuckled, "Teacher! We happen to have the purest and holiest of waters in Savant City right here. Someone, bring me a vat of water!"

Tian Cai continued his chuckling. "In case he grows thirsty at Sister's Ling's abode. Teacher, I hear the grass in her courtyard is quite delicious. You should feed him some."

Hearing about food, the bunny's ears twitched.

The bunny purred, "Mommy, feed me."

Ling Fan stiffened. Wasn't the situation getting worse?

"Disciple, since Big Brother likes you, how about you take him on your outing. In fact, Master and Little Junjie will join you."

The bunny hopped onto her shoulders.

Servants rolled up a cart containing water and vegetables.

"You see all those delicious vegetables? Don't you want your Daddy to feed you?" asked Ling Fan.

Tian Cai's cheeks twitched.

"Aren't you more comfortable on your Daddy's shoulders? Isn't he a big and strong Father?" continued asking Ling Fan.

"Disciple we'll bring the cart with us, in case Big Brother gets hungry. Big Brother, recently Sister and her mount tasted delicious food from all over the City. We'll be sure to point out the good places."

"Mommy, feed me," squeaked the Bunny.

Tian Cai's face broke out in the happiest of smiles.

"Little Genius, it's time to fulfill your promise. Little Junjie's trial will be occurring in less than 17 days."

"Teacher, our Zhao Clan is already making preparations. In fact, we are finalizing plans. The location we've chosen is Shadow Hell Forest."

"Good Good, then we won't bother Little Genius anymore. We'll be sure to bring Big Brother back."

"Hahaaa! Why do such a thing? He should learn how comfortable Sister Ling's place is," said Tian Cai.

Shensheng sighed. "As much as Teacher would like, it's impossible. Big Brother has already settled on your abode. Most likely, he'd return by himself. Just now you saw how he used his Magical Vorpal Eyes. Big Brother like's to traverse the shortest path possible. Don't be surprised if he cuts his way back through Savant City. So should we bring him back or not?"

Gritting his teeth, Tian Cai said, "Of course, he's welcome back anytime."

Mocking Tian Cai, Ling Fan stuck her tongue out.

With dejection, Tian Cai muttered silently.

"Disciple, let us return so that you can ready our entourage. Big Brother, you may not know, but Sister already has her own servants and bodyguard. Should you require your own entourage, Sister can recruit many people," said Shensheng.

Ling Fan's eyes popped wide.

Is she pimping my peoples!?

"Sister Ling, Big Brother was asking about your health earlier," said Tian Cai.

"Ah! Brother Zhao, I almost forgot. Ling Hua sends her regards to Senior Zhao Ding. Also, may I meet with him personally to thank him for saving me?"

"Big Brother? Unfortunately he is currently touring properties," replied Tian Cai.

"Big Brother is extremely busy and him saving you was naturally a righteous obligation for him. However, if it was Miss Ling Hua, he would probably make some some time as he considers her a dear friend."

Ling Fan stiffened, the words 'dear friend' echoed over and over and over in her mind. Feeling a thumping in her heart, she turned her blushing face away.

"Our-Our Ling Hua considers him a very dear friend as well," she said.

It felt like the sun was shining on Tian Cai's heart.

To have a true friend in a different world? Wasn't life wonderful?

Suddenly, Tian Cai remembered something.

"Sister Ling, Big Brother learned that Miss Liu is known as the Failed Alchemist. In truth, learning about her reputation he did think twice about hiring. However, he felt he could trust Miss Ling Hua's recommendations. In the end, he decided to trust her as well."*1

In the sky, it felt that brightest of lights broke through the clouds and warmed Ling Fan's heart.

Big Brother Zhao trusted her!?

With that, they took their leave. The bunny red little eyes misted over. Peering back, it squeaked, "Dada."

Ling Fan's eyes rolled.

Over an hour later, Ling Fan had arrived with everybody to the hideout. To her dismay, Mu Psycho was there as well. Everyone wanted to pet the bunny however, Mu Psycho words stopped them dead cold.

"You wanna pet the Godkiller go ahead. He'll slice you into tiny cubes."

Everyone hissed.

GODKILLER!!

Shensheng snorted, "Indeed, Big Brother has killed many a god."

If Ling Fan wasn't feeding the bunny a carrot, she would have been rubbing her glabella.

"Everyone heed my command. As Fierce Empyrean says, this is Godkiller. You absolutely cannot provoke. Earlier, he cut a man and his horse in pieces so tiny...both were unrecognizable. They will have to bury the two together."

Everyone hissed with wide eyes and unconsciously took several steps back.

Tang Xifeng asked, "Fierce Leader, just what did the man do? As you know, this Tang was here earlier watching things."

"Ah that. The man's horse almost stepped on us. Godkiller, reacted naturally and..and...it was the most disgusting thing Leader has ever seen," replied Ling Fan.

Qin Rong stood proudly. "Now everyone knows of our Zhao Clan's mighty Guardian Beast Godkiller. Glory to Zhao! Glory to Zhao!"

Wang Chuntao whispered to her elder sister, "Big Sis, I keep thinking of juicy rabbit legs...can't we ea"

Wang Chunhua quickly covered her sister's drooling mouth and dragged her away.

The bunny's eyes narrowed, with one ear twitching. It didn't relax until it lost sight of Wang Chunhua.

Elder Bing asked, "Leader, is Godkiller joining us on our excursion?"

Ling Fan bit her gait and nodded an affirmative.

Mo Lai stepped forward and said, "Leader, yesterday, I sent scouts to the location. We should be receiving word soon."

"How far is it?" asked Ling Fan.

"About half a day by horse," answered Elder Bing.

"Then we leave tonight."

"Tonight?" asked Elder Bing.

"Mhm...the best time for a raid is the hour before dawn," said Ling Fan.

"Big Brother, how do you like Sister's secret abode? Here there are many wines? If you like any, you just need to ask," said Shensheng.

Ling Fan stiffened as she imagined Zhao Jia waving her flaming ruler.

Her Master just didn't offer Boss's wine, did she? Does she want us all to melt to death?

"Brother, if you don't like anything here, Disciple's clan is known for its Thousand Flower Wine. With you being a herbivore, Sister is sure it will be to your liking."

She was giving away our Ling Clan's treasured wine as well!?

Thankfully, Mu Psycho unknowingly distracted the pig.

Slipping over she whispered into the Pig's ears.

"What, there are ancient ruins below with terrible killing formations? You think there might be treasure? Junjie, we shall go with Mu Huiqing and investigate below. Big Brother, Sister will return later."

Swoosh!! The three disappeared into the tunnels below.

Ling Fan sighed in relief.

Did Mu Psycho just save her?

Down below in the secret tunnels, Mu Psycho brought the pigs to the entrance of the ruins.

Snorting, Zhu Shensheng said, "Indeed there is a killing formation. Little Junjie, stay behind with her."

Nonchalantly, the Divine Pig pattered forward."

Seeing nothing being triggered, Mu Huizhong sighed. It's as she thought, what formations could stop Zhu Shensheng. Being a Divine being, what places could she not enter freely?

About 100 yards down. Zhu Shensheng stopped. Before her was a large burnt indention in the floor. In comparison in size, Shensheng barely appeared as large as a toe next to it. Grimly the Divine Pig peered down. The indention matched the shape of a large Primal Cockroach Race spawn.

Shensheng hissed, "Indeed the Primal Cockroach Race has been here."
