He finally completed his Beam spell, perfecting it through rigorous practice. Now, his focus was on increasing its firepower through enhanced mana manipulation and his growing mana reserves. With the Beam spell mastered, Lish began contemplating his next move.

Did he need another long-range spell? No, his current Beam spell sufficed for now. What about a close-range offensive spell? That seemed unwise given his recent start in training. He had only begun sword training this month, and building a solid foundation in combat skills would take time and patience. What he needed was a spell that could give him an edge over the other geniuses at the upcoming academy, despite his limited arsenal.

Instead of another offensive spell, Lish considered a support spell that could complement his Beam spell. He remembered the profession of an archer, a role that involved attacking from a distance and minimizing risk. If he could enhance his mobility to maintain distance while firing his Beam, it would create a formidable combination.

That's it! He needed a teleportation spell. This would allow him to attack with his Beam and instantly distance himself from enemies, similar to an archer maintaining a safe distance from their target.

Engrossed in his studies, Lish delved into the principles of teleportation spells. The broader the teleportation range, the more challenging it was to master. He aimed for a spell that would allow him to teleport within a 500-meter radius, or perhaps even up to 1 kilometer. It needed to be simple yet powerful, providing him with a strategic advantage.

He pored over existing records of teleportation spells. Despite the different elemental affinities, the fundamental principles behind teleportation remained consistent. The real challenge lay in adapting these principles to his light element. Hours of contemplation left him frustrated, as he struggled to incorporate the teleportation mechanism into his unique elemental affinity.

"Why is this so difficult?" Lish muttered to himself, staring at the arcane diagrams and spell scripts scattered across his study table. "I can understand the theory, but implementing it with light magic is proving to be a challenge."

The light element, known for its speed and purity, seemed perfect for teleportation. However, its very nature made it difficult to harness for complex spells like teleportation. The light was fast, almost instantaneous, but controlling it with precision for a teleportation spell was a different matter altogether.

His thoughts drifted to the academy, imagining the various talented individuals he would encounter. Most of them had probably honed their skills for years, while he was just starting. This teleportation spell had to work; it was his ticket to leveling the playing field.

He decided to take a break and stepped outside to clear his mind. The serene environment of the Aurelius estate always helped him think better. Walking through the gardens, he watched the interplay of sunlight and shadows, an intricate dance of light that offered him a moment of clarity.

Light moved in straight lines, but what if he could bend those lines, and manipulate them to form a pathway for his teleportation? He recalled the concept of light refraction, how light changed direction when passing through different mediums. If he could apply this principle to his teleportation spell, bending light to create a teleportation path, it might just work.

Excited by this revelation, Lish hurried back to his study. He began sketching new diagrams, incorporating the idea of light refraction into his spell framework. It was a breakthrough, but he knew it would still require extensive practice and refinement. With renewed determination, he plunged back into his work, his mind alight with possibilities.

As days turned into nights, Lish's progress on the teleportation spell inched forward. The complexity was daunting, but every small success fueled his motivation. He visualized himself at the academy, seamlessly teleporting across the battlefield, his Beam spell striking with unerring accuracy.

With each passing hour, the spell started to take shape. Lish could feel the pieces falling into place, the light element bending to his will. The path was long and arduous, but he was on the right track. Soon, he would have a spell that not only complemented his Beam but also gave him a strategic edge on the battlefield.

Days passed as Lish continued to work on his teleportation spell, diligently weaving the elements of light into his magical framework. Everything seemed to be falling into place except for one critical part—the final puzzle piece that eluded him. He felt that if he could just complete this missing piece, he would successfully create the teleportation spell. The frustration was akin to building a magnificent tower but being unable to place the roof, the finishing touch that brought the whole structure together.

This task consumed his thoughts day and night, impeding his training and leaving his status unchanged. His focus on perfecting the spell meant he couldn't advance in his other areas of study or physical training. If he couldn't create this technique, all his hard work would be in vain. Despite his ability to teleport within a one-kilometer radius, the imprecision of his landings was a significant drawback. Such an unpredictable spell was dangerous; it could cost him his life in a real combat scenario. He needed a surefire way to win, not a gamble that could backfire at a critical moment.

In his frustration, Lish recalled his grandmother, Victoria, who could teleport effortlessly between continents. Although she marked the places she teleported to first, indicating a deep understanding of teleportation spells, her insight could prove invaluable. Her mastery over the teleportation spell, albeit with a different elemental affinity, was exactly the kind of knowledge he needed to fill in the last blank space haunting him.

He then touched his smartwatch and called his grandmother's direct number.

Ring! Ring!

Before long, Victoria's face appeared on the hologram. Her eyes sparkled with their usual mirth, and a teasing smile played on her lips.

"How rare for you to call me first, Lish," she said, her voice carrying a playful lilt that always seemed to lighten the mood.

"Grandmother, I need your help with something—about a spell that I created," he replied, not wasting any time on pleasantries. His tone was earnest, reflecting the urgency he felt.

"Oh, you've already begun to study diligently, eh? What seems to be the problem?" she inquired, her curiosity piqued.

"I can't seem to fit the last puzzle piece into my creation, no matter how much I put my mind around it," he admitted, his frustration evident in his voice.

"I see," she responded thoughtfully. Then, without warning, the hologram abruptly cut off.

"Eh? Why did Grandmother end the call?" Lish muttered to himself, puzzled and a bit worried. Did she have something urgent to attend to?

Just as he was lost in thought, he felt a hand on his shoulder from behind. He jolted slightly, instinctively taking a defensive stance, his mind racing. This library was supposed to be reserved for him alone—no one should have been able to enter without his knowledge.

He spun around, ready for anything, but what he saw made him relax immediately. Standing before him was his grandmother, her teasing smile more pronounced than ever. Her eyes twinkled with amusement at his reaction.

"Surprised, aren't you?" Victoria said, her voice filled with a warmth that only a close family member could convey. "I thought it would be easier to help you in person."

Lish took a moment to steady his racing heart, then managed a smile. "Grandmother, you never cease to amaze me."

Victoria chuckled softly. "Teleportation has its perks, especially when it comes to assisting my favorite grandson."
