CHAPTER 8 Full of Surprises 2

　　Elijah, giving her a smile and stroking her arm, stepped away from her, and I couldn’t help but sigh at that sight. It must be nice to have someone who, no matter what your faults, like nearly shooting someone, would still be by your side, telling you that everything would be okay.

　　Shaking myself out of that thought, Tess took aim, thankfully away from us, and after a few fires of the gun, she smashed a clay pigeon to smithereens!

　　“Well done, Tess!” I called out, unable to believe she could accurately shoot a gun.

　　“Yay, I did it!” she cheered, not pointing any deadly weapons at us.

　　“Well done! See, it is doable!” Simon cheered, taking the gun from her. “Who’s up next?” he asked, turning to us.

　　Taking a look around the group, who were all smiling at me, I gathered that I was next up.

　　“I take it, that it’s me.” I smiled lightly, stepping forward.
