Laughing lightly, luckily Tess appeared behind me and took the roses to put them in some water. “Have a great time, you two!” she practically squealed, wandering off to go and locate a vase.
Dawson held out his arm for me to link, and with everyone watching on, we left the house and walked down the path to his car. Opening the door for me, I slid into the passenger side and admired the sight of him, closing the door behind me, whilst looking like a male model.
Starting the journey, I turned to him. “Have you not been back to the cottage this afternoon?” I wondered.
“No, like I said to you before, I had some business to attend to, which took a bit longer than expected, and then I went and bought a new Tuxedo, before heading over to pick you up for our date,” he clarified, swiping me a glance and smiling.
“I thought it was odd that you weren’t downstairs. I’ve been hiding upstairs for the majority of the afternoon.” I chuckled.
