Chapter 1

She was staring out her bedroom window watching the snowfall and wondering what had happened to her life. It hasn't even been twenty-four hours since she buried her father. As she was standing there her mind wandered to one person. The man she fell in love with four years before and had been engaged to until she had heard the conversation between him and her father.

"Damion what else do you want me to do? I already proposed to Cassidy and she said yes. Max all i want is for you to marry her and give me a grandchild. YOu know the deal after the birth of the child ten million dollars will be put into your account. After that I don't care if you stay together or get divorced it is your choice."

Cassidy remembered that day very clearly like it was yesterday. That's the day that changed her life forever. A loud knock on her bedroom door brought her back to reality. As she went to open the door it opened and in walked the very person she was thinking about.

What are you doing her Max and what gives you the right to just walk into my room uninvited. Max looks at cassidy, Nice to see you too Vass. Your aunt said you were up here and told me to come up and check to make sure you were ok. I'll be fine Max. I just wanted to be left alone and what are you doing in Kenton anyways. You should still be in London with your fiance. Max put his head down and then lifted it to look Cassidy in the eyes and then said Malcom called and said that I had to be here for the will reading tomorrow.

Cassidy looked a little shocked but was wondering why max needed to be here for that but knowing her father it was probably some type of payoff. Cassidy looks at max and asks where are you staying tonight. I am staying at the c and n motel. Cassidy knew it would come back to haunt her but she suggested that max stay in her dad's room for the night. Are you sure Cass? Please stop calling me Cass and yes I am sure. There is no reason for you to pay for a room when I have plenty of rooms here for you to stay in.

Cassidy showed Max to her dad's room. I'll go and get you some new bedding and a towel and washcloth. You know where everything else is. As Cassidy walked out of the room ma started to wonder what went wrong four years ago. He was in love with her and he thought she felt the same way until that fateful day when Damion called him and asked him to over for a chat. Max thought nothing of it so he headed on over to the house.

Max there is something that i want you to do for me. Damion what else do you want me to do? I already proposed to her and she said yes. Max all i you like to go out and have dinner with me Cassidy? Your aunt said you really haven't eaten anything since you got the call a week ago about you dad being back in the hospital and i thought you might need a shoulder to cry on or maybe just a friend that will listen to you.want is for you to marry her and give me a grandchild. Max heard a sound and turned around to see what it was but didn't see anything so he turned back around to face Damion. Damion let's get one thing straight. I love Cassidy and I don't want your money. My love for her is real and no amount of money is going to change that and about giving you a grandchild that is up to me and Cassidy if and when we have one. The old man just stood and stared at Max as if he was in shock. If that is all Damion then I will be on my way.
