I regretted saying those words but still, I waited anxiously for his answer and when the time became too long, I dried up my chapped lips and looked up at him with my heart pounding loudly.

"No," he looked straight into my eyes while giving me the answer, wincing at his usual straightforwardness. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply while I made up my mind.

"Alright, I will do it but if I die you are to be held responsible," I said chuckling nervously at the end but my smile faltered because of the risk I was taking. I wasn't really in the mood for a joke but I need to lighten up the mood because who knows… I might even die before I could shift properly.
