Chapter 24: Can’t let go
Taking a stroll around the cottage, I wrapped my shawl tighter around my shoulders. Heaving a breath, I sighed.
I love this place so much, it's so peaceful, birds flying high up in the sky, the beautiful trees with strong stems laden with fruits and colorful flowers, the green grass and natural smell of soil… makes it a perfect holiday spot to relax.
I relaxed my tense muscles under the peaceful environment.
How I wished I could feel the same inside too, just like nature, peaceful, no worries, no burdens, no tension, no one to answer to.
I made my way to the back of my cottage and plopped onto one of the stone benches. Exhaling, I leaned backwards and my eyes fluttered close but instantly opened them as the flashback of that night clouded my mind.
