1. Changed World

For a long time, Mythology and Legends were seen as nothing more than imagination by most of the people of Earth after the Age of Enlightenment, an attempt of the past humans to explain phenomenon they could not understand and though faiths existed, most have started to believe them to be nothing more than imagination.

Gods, Angels, Demons and other supernatural entities that have been told of in legends and mythologies were seen as being untrue.

Due to the advancements in science the supernatural have been told as being nothing more than figments of imagination and the supernatural would be dismissed in the modern world.

However, that all changed in the 2023 when Gods started to choose people from amongst the populace and gave them powers that made them far stronger than the normal ones.

When the first one appeared no one actually believed them and simply thought that it was some kind of technology or something. But that was soon rectified when more of these chosen started to appear and their strength was shown to the people.

These special people would be chosen by Gods, Angels, Demons, and other powerful supernatural entities and made more powerful using their blessings. These people intern started to be called as the "Blessed".

With their newfound strength and power the Blessed caused a huge wave in the world and made great impacts. Though no one knew why the Gods were doing this and why they had only started now. Even the criteria for a God to choose a human to bless is not known as almost anyone can be chosen.

May they be a kid, a teenager, an adult or even an old man. Another thing was that when one becomes a Blessed their bodies are strengthened and healed and if it is someone old then they become young again as well.

Not to mention the fact that if there are any problems with their bodies it would be healed and their would become more beautiful than before. Their bodies would become peak conditioned and their raw strength is very high, and that is not counting the various other abilities that the Blessed gets in accordance to the being who blesses them.

However, soon the people learned why the higher beings had decided to bestow upon them their powers. It was to prepare the people of Earth for the Gates.

They are otherworldly pathways which led to a separate dimension or reality where magical and mythological monsters existed. It was the Blessed who would go and fight and defeat the places inside the Gates which were promptly named dungeons due to how similar it is to the games, from where they could also gain many materials that they could use as well.

In the two years that came after the emergence of the Blessed and the Gates, the Blessed became a career that was sought after by many in the world. As most if not all of them have power, fame, money and respect. Some of them are also leaders of their own nations, they are powerful enough that some of them can even confront the governments of a country as well. Due to this many wished to become Blessed as well.

Another thing was that due to the appearance of the Blessed, it also affirmed the belief's of many believers in the world and disproved the theory of the scientific community that the supernatural do not exist. That was a huge slap in the face for the scientist who believed that they were always right.

It was been a total of 5 years since the first emergence of the Blessed and they have become an integral part of the human world. But there was one question that humanity never asked the Gods.

In the various myths, many deities or supernatural entities wanted something in return for the gifts that they bestow upon others. The question was... what is it that they want in return?

*In an apartment building in America*

Dynamis let out a breath of air as he took off his student ID and looked at his phone with a depressed aura around him before he let out a tired sigh. He then shook his head and went to take a bath as he freshened up and got dressed before he looked at the mirror.

He is a 21 year old young man who has medium brown skin, messy medium long blonde hair, iris' with outer circle having dark brown and inner circle having amber colours in it with the normal black pupil. He has an above average face and a defined jawline as well.

He is standing at 185 cm in height and is wearing a light blue shirt and black pants which is looking quite good on his body. His arms and legs aren't that developed and was a bit skinny but not too much at the same time.

His unique appearance is due to his mixed genetics. He is half Indian and half British. The medium brown skin and dark brown eye colour being from his great grandmother while he got his blonde hair and amber eye colour from his great grandfather, alongside the height. This gave him a unique natural appearance alongside his central heterochromic eyes.

"Alright, another day to work." Dynamis said to himself as he looked at himself and nodded in satisfaction.

He then left his humble apartment and got on his bike before he rode to his workplace. He is currently in his fist year of MA and is working part time to earn money for himself. He is able to scrap up enough to pay his rent and live a pseudo comfortable life in there, if he ignored the fact that his boss is a bitch.

He is currently working as a waiter in a restaurant, said restaurant owner being a guy who seems to be irritated by him for some reason. But he needs the money so he decided to suck it up and do the job. He reached the place and got off of his bike and secured his helmet. He then turned to the front of the restaurant but he froze when he saw his boss standing with a very attractive girl in the entrance.

"You gotta be kidding me." Dynamis said in a whisper when he saw them.

His boss is fair skinned and has light brown hair and brown eyes with a stubble as well and is 28 years old. He is wearing a shirt and pants which didn't stand out much and he couldn't be said to be that attractive as well. Compared to Dynamis, his boss, Doug, wasn't much.

But compared to the young man the man has a successful business and good money as well. Something which Dynamis lacks as he is still studying and a student despite being an adult legally.

The girl next to the man is very beautiful. She has long light blue hair which reached her hips. She has a well endowed figure with large breasts and medium ass alongside decently thick thighs. She has fair, soft and beautiful skin, red eyes, soft and supple lips and a beautiful face to boot. All in all, she is a very beautiful woman.

And she also happened to be his former girlfriend as well. Which was why he didn't like the situation, which got worse when he knew that his boss and his ex-girlfriend are together now. And she didn't even take some time before they both got together.

He let out a heavy sigh before he made his way to them as the two saw him and the girl was startled by seeing him while his Boss has a smirk on his face which further served to irritate him.

"Dy-Dynamis?" The girl said startled as she saw him.

"Hello Aria, looks like you have already moved on huh." Dynamis said to her as he gave her a blank look.

Aria became uncomfortable when she heard that as she fidgeted in her place at his words as she looked at him.

"I-I didn't mean to hurt you like this." Aria said to him meekly with a guilty face.

"Oh stop pretending to care about him. You know I'm much better than he is." Doug said to her with a smirk on his face.

"I don't care about that. You can spend your time with each other. I will just go and do my shift." Dynamis said to them with a tired sigh.

Aria looked saddened at his words as she looked at him while Doug's smirk widened.

"About that. You will no longer have to come here." Doug said in a smug tone with the face to match.

"What do you mean?" Dynamis asked with narrowed eyes when he heard that.

"It means that I'm firing you from the job. You are no longer allowed to work in my restaurant." Doug said with a smug tone and face.

"Why are you firing me?" Dynamis asked irritated at his boss.

'This son of a bitch.' Dynamis thought to himself calmly.

"Because you annoy me and I don't want you anywhere near me or her. So here, take your last paycheck and get out of here." Doug said to him with a smug smile as he gave him an envelope.

Dynamis glanced at Doug and Aria, then he looked at the paycheck and took it and held it in his hand.

"Also, here's another thing." Doug said as Dynamis raised his head to look at the man.

Only for Doug's fist to hit his left cheek and sending him to the ground from the attack as Dynamis hit the ground and felt pain on his cheek as he groaned out.

"Dynamis!" Aria shouted shocked when she saw this happen as her eyes widened in shock and horror.

"Fuck! Damn my hand hurts." Doug cursed as he held his right hand as he felt pain.

As for Dynamis, he slowly got up using his arms and legs as he held his left cheek and moved his jaw a bit to test it. He felt anger at the man for hitting him but he held it in. He knew that if he were to do anything to the man then he will be in trouble because he has the money and power to protect himself and get him in arrested for assault.

With that he moved his jaw a bit more and rubbed his left cheek before he got up with the envelope. He looked at the two and glared at them before he walked away from the two with a grunt. Doug smiled at how the man was going while Aria has a disheartened expression.

"Alright, now that that loser is gone let's go." Doug said as he entered his restaurant.

Aria looked at Dynamis as he got on his bike and put on his helmet before he drove away. She then sighed and walked inside the restaurant as well.

'This is just not my day.' Dynamis thought to himself as he rode away from the place.

A/N: I just want to say that I have wanted to try something similar of the Gods blessing humanity and such but I didn't have a clear idea how to do that. So when I found the "Blessed by the Night" I was very happy as it had every information I wanted to write a novel like this. There will be some similarities between the two novels due to me being influenced by the story but it will ultimately be different.
