The Minion's Gambit

Miller's eyes finally opened. He had been asleep for quite a long time. He was totally exhausted.

When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the ceiling of the room. He was shocked to see himself on his bed. Although he looked almost naked with most of his clothes torn.

Looking at his left, he saw Alex and Watson discussing.

"Look who is finally awake." Alex said looking at Miller.

Both Alex and Watson went to sit by Miller's side.

"What happened..." Miller couldn't complete his sentence, because of the images of what he had done when he was in Killer Mode just entered his head. He had attacked his friends and eventually stabbed James Theodore.

"Do you need me to explain." Watson said.

"Don't worry, I already know that. I attacked you guys and wanted to kill you." Miller said. Tears could be seen on his face. "How is Catherine. How is Jacob." He said.

"They are all fine." Alex said.

Watson then went to explain to Miler from the time Miller slept. It was clear he didn't have any clue how he got to the room. Watson explained that Anti-Meta Human Officers were looking for them. Catherine teleported them to the Library and after some hours of rest, She opened a portal and everyone went to their seperate hostels.

Miller was a little relieved. But he still felt guilty about what had happened and with some parts of the school being burnt.

"Don't worry about the burned parts of the school. The Anti-Meta Human Officers really have crazy abilities." Watson said. "They were able to create those broken parts back."

'Mutants.' Watson thought. 'They are really powered beings.'

"There is going to be a meeting in the school hall before classes start today." Alex said. "I guess they want to talk about what had happened last night."

"So go take your bath." Watson said.

Miller obeyed and went to take his bath. Inside the bathroom, he decided to check up on the System.

"Did i gain any reward?." Miller asked the System out of curiousity.

"Yes. You did." The System replied.

"Wow." Miller said. Miller knew the kill here meant James. He also knew that James could recover from it. Besides, he had seen James torn apart into two and he still regenerated again. So he didn't bother because he knew James would be alive.

"Why did I get a high Experience Points because of James?" Miller asked the System confused.

"Miller like I had told you earlier." The System said. "The stronger the opponent the stronger the Experience points."

"Miller there is one thing. I need to tell you that is very important." The System said. "When your Health Points went to Zero."

"You entered a state where i refer to as the road to the realm of Death. As your Health Points finished. You died, Miller, You died."

"When you kills someone, the soul of that person goes to The realm of death. In an exchange for your soul. That's what happened. But you were successfully able to trick Death when you stabbed James."

"James regenerated back and thus you or James's soul are not in the Realm of Death." The SYSTEM said the next words slowly so that Miller would feel the gravity of the sentence:

"Miller, have this always in the back of your mind. They are coming..." The System said. "Death already knows of your existence right now. If she informs the gods or the demons, they would come for you."

"Miller, get stronger. So that you can protect those you love." The System concluded.

It's being long Miller felt scared. But right now, he was really really scared. He looked at his left and then his right to see if anyone was there, but no one was there.

"Death. Is that a personality or what." Miller asked.

"Miller, you don't need to know about the Realms yet. Just get stronger. Knowing them now would disturb your path." The System said.

"How." Miller replied confused.

"It's My Alogrithim." The System lied.

Sometimes the Alogrithim prevented him from answering some certain questions. But right now, he knew that it wasn't necessary. Besides he had been given information by his master - the Unknown figure who teleported Miller in Citarada to the area where he meet the System.

His master is a time traveller and he believes what his master says and he knows that it would be true. His master didn't tell him why Miller shouldn't know yet. But he knew the Master had Miller's best interest at heart. So he didn't bother himself.

"Miller. If you get to Level 10. You would be granted some powers. I don't know which one would be unlocked yet. But i can assure you it would help in making you a formidable foe." The System said.

"You should start now. because your body is still losing HP because you are still in Level 9." The System said.

[HP: 253,000/256,000]

Those words flickered across his retina and he knew what the System meant. He has to do something to Level up.

There was one clear way he knew, and he believed the person would agree. If he fights this person, he would level up instantly. That person his Alex Justin; The Mutated Vampire and one of his Minions.
