Looking For A Place To Hide

Watson's heart raced as the sound of the gunshot reverberated through the ahir, sending chills down his spine. Fear gripped him tightly, his mind filled with a sense of urgency to find his missing friend, Miller. Ignoring the risk of being shot, Watson mustered every ounce of courage and sprinted back towards the hostel, desperately seeking safety within its walls.

The moon was now gradually appearing in the sky. It is currently 6PM.

The curfew had transformed the once-familiar grounds into a haunting landscape, its silence broken only by the distant echo of footsteps and occasional rustling of leaves.

The gates of the Hostel had been locked, and he was now outside.

BANG!

BANG!

He hit the gate aggressively so that somebody could open up. But it was a waste of time. The gates have been locked and would remain like that until the next morning.

'Why did i follow them, would i make it out alive, would i be THE UNKNOWN'S prey this night'. All these thoughts raced inside his head.

But there was no time for him to think. He has to find somewhere to hide or stay for the night. If he doesn't, the Anti-Meta Human Officers would shot him if they find him or worse THE UNKNOWN would kill him on sight.

Currently, Watson didn't know where to run to. He was worried about his Friend; Miller who was taking or maybe abducted would be the right word and he was also worried about himself.

Watson started running at full speed. The first place that entered his head to hide in was no other than his favourite place in the school; The School Library.

The entire school area was so quiet that his footsteps and gasp seemed deafeningly loud to him.

He ran as fast as he could. But he stopped because of someone's voice.

"Hey!!!" The person said. "What the Hell are you doing outside". The person was an Anti-Meta Human Officers.

"Were you kids not informed that you shouldn't be outside tonight" The Officer said. "Your hands up where i can see them."

"Turn around now, so that i can see your face" The officer commanded.

Watson turned and looked at the officer slowly, fear in his eyes, until he finally saw who called him, and his eyes opened with excitement and joy. The person in front of Him was someone he knew. It was his cousin by the name Gavin Simmons.

Gavin Simmon is around 5 foot 8 inches in height. His skin is somewhat dark. He currently wears his Anti-Meta Human Officers uniform which covers his face and entire body. The black uniform with white stripes fit his body so well that it highlighted his athletic physique He is around twenty to twenty-three years of age, older than Watson who is currently nineteen years old.

"Why are you outside" Gavin asked his cousin with seriousness in his voice.

"I am so happy, it's you" Watson said out of relief. But those joys he had Immediately turned into great fear.

The Anti-Meta Human Officer, who was his cousin, pointed a gun at him. "I am willing to stand by the rules. The rules can never be broken by Me. I would just give you Five Minutes to run and find a place to hide. I am doing this because you are my cousin. Immediately the Five minutes is over, if i find you, i wouldn't hesitate to kill you."

Gavin's words were like a stab to his cousin. This reminded Watson how Gavin always was. Gavin was the kind of person who never bent the rules. He was the kind of person who wouldn't let his person feelings get into his Job.

"Five Minutes, Eh" Watson said. Tears almost left his cheek.

"You haven't changed after all these years; you're still crying like a baby. Just get out of My sight before i change my mind" Gavin said to his cousin with irritation.

Gavin didn't like People who were weak and his cousin; Watson was one of those weaklings. Gavin believed that whether you are Mutant or Not, the only way to survive on the planet was to be strong and seeing a Weak person like Watson irritated him. This was one of the reasons he wasn't close to his Cousin throughout their childhood.

"Start moving before i shot!" He shouted at Watson with anger.

Watson started running and didn't look backwards, his prayer was he wouldn't meet another Anti-Meta Human Officers. If he meet another one, they wouldn't hesitate to shoot him. He didn't want that.

The door of the Library was locked when he got there.

*Knock Knock

He knocked aggressively on the doors, trying to enter through the locked doors. And when he felt like there was no hope. He decided to run to the School Cafeteria. But before he could leave, the doors were opened.

Someone was inside the School Library this whole time and the person called out to him. "Watson, Over here".

Watson was shocked when he saw the two that were inside the library, it was Emily Pemberton and Lilian Collins.

Watson entered the Library without hesitation and locked it behind him.

"What the hell were you doing outside. If any of the Anti-Meta Human Officers find you. You would be killed in an instant" Lillian said to Watson.

Watson was just panting, he had been scared for such a long time. He was just now concerned about his friend; MILLER. He was hoping nothing bad might have happened to him.

The three of them were the only people in the School Library. The thing they Immediately went to do without hesitation was to go and hide behind the Book Shelves.

They planned to hide there until the Night was over. Their main prayer was that THE UNKNOWN wouldn't come after them while they were in the School Library.

'Miller, Please be safe' Watson Thought.
