The old books

Chloe devoured all the books for the entire day. She didn't sleep, she didn't eat, just drank water.

She was so focused and drawn into all the books, that she couldn't even take a pause.

After she closed the last book, she realized it was already night again.

She found out so much about every legend of her village but was too tired, so she decided to finally get some sleep.

She slept for the entire night, feeling so rested and hungry.

Chloe went to the kitchen, where her mom prepared for all of them a delicious breakfast.

They all ate everything, then ask Chloe if she found what she was looking for.

Chloe asked her mom if she knew about the fact that they come from a long line of werewolves.

Her mom, Agatha, took Chloe by her hand and honestly said to her that she knew, but never wanted to share that with her or her brothers, as she wanted them to have a good, normal life.

Agatha explained to all three that her great-grandmother asked for a witch's help so that all their bloodline, will not turn into a werewolf anymore.

"-I've read that if one wishes for that, one can make a ritual to make it happen. Chloe said.

-It is a dangerous thing to do, my dear daughter, it wouldn't be worth it. Aren't you happy with your life, the way it is?" Agatha said.

Chloe was sitting quietly, as she didn't want to disrespect her mother, then said that she is happy about everything that Agatha offered them.

But she couldn't stop thinking about how her life would be if she would also become a werewolf like Jonas.

Later, Chloe went to see Jonas, she wanted to share with him all that she learned from the books.

She went to his cabin and entered it, but Jonas wasn't there. Chloe wondered where he might be, so she went to Sarah's grandma's house.

Knocking three times, Sarah's grandma opened the door and invited Chloe inside.

Sarah wasn't there, and the grandma told Chloe, that Sarah left with the pack for an urgent meeting, leaving Chloe surprised that Sarah's grandma knew about them.

Chloe started asking the old lady about things that she read, making her open up and share with Chloe, the pack's darkest secrets.

The grandma confirmed to Chloe, that the ritual for activating her werewolf gene, requires several steps, the final one being a human sacrifice.

Chloe immediately got scared, and determined to never do such a thing, and asked if there is a loophole that could replace the final step with something lighter, that wouldn't include the death of someone.

Sarah's grandma slowly got up from her chair and went to a closet, from where she brought an old dusty book.

She cleaned the book, then handed it to Chloe, asking her to read it to her as well.

Chloe spent two hours reading it until she got to a passage written with minuscule letters, which said that to avoid the sacrifice of someone, a being from a werewolf bloodline can activate their gene by giving birth to a child of a true alpha.

Chloe was happy, but also had doubts, as she wasn't yet ready to be a mother, nor she wasn't sure if Jonas would want that as well.

Chloe thanked Sarah's grandmother for everything and went back to her cottage.

She thought at everything, while going through the books again, and then decided that she will not share with Jonas what she knows. And that she will just love him like a human being, and let things flow, to see how strong their relationship will be.

Deep down inside Chloe knew, that her love for Jonas will only grow, as she could feel it with all her being that they are soulmates, and nothing less.

In the evening, Jonas came to see her. Chloe couldn't be happier, so she jumped in his arms, crossing her legs around his middle and kissing with such intensity, like it has been ages since they were apart.

Jonas was very happy to see how much Chloe has missed him.

He shared with her, that there was an important meeting he had to attend, as the werewolves from his pack, wanted to make sure that he is seriously involved with her.

Chloe asked him why would that matter, and Jonas explained to her, that each member of the pack, even the Alpha need to make a statement about their mates, so that person will be forever granted their protection.

Chloe was so happy to hear that, knowing that now she has the protection of his pack, even though she wouldn't require it, as nothing bad ever happened in Edenwall.

She started kissing Jonas again, telling him how badly she missed him, and that she wants to be with him for the entire night.

Jonas gladly accepted to be with her, touching her entire body, admiring her soft skin, and how delicious she tasted.

Chloe got very hot, changing from that shy girl, into a woman who greatly desired to be fucked.

Chloe soon got to her true self, wondering what has gotten into her.

She asked Jonas to forgive her, as she didn't know what happened, and Jonas kissed her while embracing her with love.

"-Maybe you should get some sleep, you will feel much better in the morning. Jonas told Chloe.

-I do not want to sleep alone, please stay with me." Chloe asked Jonas.

They both lay in bed until Chloe fell asleep on Jonas's chest. He couldn't sleep as he was worried about Chloe's behavior, wondering what made her act like that.

Jonas for thirsty, so he went to the kitchen where Nicholas was eating, so he decided to ask Nicholas if he knows of something that may have affected Chloe.

Nicholas told Jonas that she has just read some old books, but nothing new.

Jonas asked Nicholas to show him the books so he can read them too, to find out what could affect Chloe.

Digging through the books, Jonas found out that Chloe is coming from a long line of werewolves, a line that has always been his family's enemy.

That messed him up, so he decided to go and walk to clear his mind, to think about it.
