Ch 16 Awakening

After a heart touching moment, well for one of us actually, we all moved down one position, which meant I was now at the front far end. Mob B who I learned went by the name Todo Aoi, was now positioned directly behind me at the service line, ball in hand. At the whistle, he threw the ball slightly in the air and quickly hit it over with a float serve to the other side and moved back into position.

'Keh, seems he's actually good but it's too early to make conjectures.'

One of the players wasn't able to get a hand on the ball properly so the ball went over the net to our side of the court. Quickly stepping back, I jumped into setting motion but at the last minute, I turned to hit it with a side arm setter dump. Obviously none of the players on the other team were expecting a dumb at this moment.

'Hmph, either way those maggots wouldn't have been able to receive it anyway'

Scoring another point for our team, we had reached the game point for our makeshift team and could possibly win if all goes well.

Todo served the ball over once more and got ready but it seems he wasn't preparing for a back attack. 'Tsk, how am I going to use you then?'

This time, one of the players received it and sent it up but not to their setter. The person who it was heading to had no choice but to send it over once again.

"CHANCE BALL" MOB C yelled out.

He moved to the ball and passed overhead to me and I decided to test MOB A. I saw some type of potential in him but we will have to see.

"Shoot" I said as I went under the ball..

[AN: Little info here on volleyball : It might have another name but it's basically a quick attack to the opposite end not like Kageyama and Hinata's quick. It's different because it's fast but not that fast like regular fast if that makes sense. Like out of 10 fast, Kageyama is a 10 and shoot is like a 4-7 and a normal regular pass is 1-5. The positioning as well is different. Shoyo and Tobio are side by side but 'SHOOT' there's a person in between the pass as a decoy or another option. If it doesn't make sense still then lemme me know and I'll use more Haikyuu references.]

A quickly understood what I wanted but if he did so did the other team. The Middle Blocker (MB) and Outside Hitter (OH) quickly rushed to form a wall but it was too late.. Or was it?

Sending the ball flying with a backspin on it, it stopped right in front of his peak hitting point and seemed to pause in the air.

However mystical it looked like nothing could change the fact

"This is the best ball placement"

MOB A quickly glanced over and made the decision to go for a cross court.

Probably the strongest attack in his arsenal, it would seem like a bad decision to any onlookers but I knew as well as he did. This was the best decision he could have made at this moment.

His hand making contact with the ball, it seemed it would be a no touch but as he was basically hitting to the wall since they were late. The Middle Blocker (MB) was able to get a hand on it. It wasn't enough however and was a block out. The whistle was blown signifying the end of the game. MOB B scoring the game point for our team, the whole squad was seemingly overjoyed though I wasn't sharing the same sentiment. I was enraged, disgusted.. How dare a mongrel touch my perfection? The fact my perfect toss got touched is unacceptable and I took that shit personally.

Walking over with the team, I realized I would have to take things into my own hands. Becoming an absolute monarch. Waiting for the ongoing game to finish to decide our opponents, I came back to my senses. Isn't normal for blockers to touch the ball, that is their job. I can't expect each and every player to be up to my standards. It seems some measures have to be taken and adjustments made to my plans.

'Such reaction is unacceptable from me'.

'I need to calm down, not to mention this is a middle school league.'

'Well whatever. What's wrong with waiting a few more years?'

'Sigh, waiting once more?' Turning to look at the ceiling

Walking over to my team head back down, I look over to see the team waiting on the court for our arrival and I see someone I envied and mocked.

Someone at the top that let his adversaries triumph over him.

Someone that could have achieved great things and evolved.

However it matters not because how can the likes of an UNCROWNED KING compare to the sovereignty of the ABSOLUTE MONARCH !

I have decided to add just one thing from Kuroko no Basket... okay maybe 2. I promise it won't affect the story. You might even like it but it won't be implemented until later in the story. Like until canon maybe...

Anyways if you ask me what my favorite anime was I prolly wouldn't give a straight answer. I don't have a specific one but the first anime I watched though was Highschool DxD. Watching DxD when you start going through puberty, easily turns you over to the Dark Side. The last anime I watched tho was MHA season 4. Haven't watched any since.. been reading novels instead.
