Are You Even Worthy?

On the main stage, an old man was standing wearing the university uniform of professors. Behind him, a few others were also lined up. But there was a golden star in the uniform near the heart of the old man distinguishing him from the rest.

At Terra Nova University, thousands of students got admitted each year. So a proper hierarchy order had been implicated. The professors could be differentiated by their star color.

And the stream they gave lectures on, could be found written near their respective star each of them had on their uniform to make it easier for students to tell apart.

All the assistant professors had a yellow star and as for the instructor they had a red star as their symbol.

Only the headmaster had a golden star. Because students from all around the world took admitted to this university, to make it fair five headmasters had been implemented.

Though in reality, various nations wanted to have information about newly accepted students and keep them in check.

On the main stage, only one person was standing who had a golden star today. This old man's name was Albert Walker.

Albert was one of the most well-known headmasters among the other five. He had white hair and black eyes with some wrinkles on his face. His long white beard made him look like a wise old man.

With a cracked voice, he started the welcoming speech not before giving Ash a look.

Ash could feel the disdain, even though it was only for a second.

"Ladies and gentlemen,

Distinguished faculty members, Esteemed guests,

And most importantly, the vibrant and enthusiastic incoming class of our university,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I stand before you all today, on behalf of all the instructors and other headmasters, to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all our incoming first-year students. Today marks the beginning of an incredible journey..."

Albert continued his speech for 15 minutes and while all this time, everyone was peeking at Ash with contempt.

"Once again, welcome to this incredible journey of learning and self-discovery. Congratulations on taking this meaningful step, and may your time at this university be nothing short of extraordinary. Thank you."

When Albert finished his speech and the cheering of the spectators died down, a middle-aged man from the guest section suddenly spoke up attracting everyone's attention.

"Honored Headmaster, please forgive my rudeness to interrupt. If you allow me I would like to ask a question."

This man was Jorge Horton, the family head of the Horton family. He had the same physical appearance as Jin except a bit old.

The headmaster replied in a heartbeat. It was as if he was also waiting for such a question to be asked.

With a smile, Albert replied, "Yes you may".

After giving a little bow to the headmaster, Jorge began to speak looking at Ash with a disgust-filled gaze.

"Headmaster Albert, why is there a commoner attending this university? Don't you think it will ruin the prestige of this holy institution? Just looking at his behavior makes me want to puke!"

Jorge asked the most necessary question everyone wanted to ask in the auditorium right now. Even Albert had the same question.

In this year's admission selection, Albert was not the one who judged the candidate's performance in the exams. So he did not have any idea why Ash get selected.

To avoid any unnecessary bribery, each year different members had selected to be evaluated as the selectors. It was a founding rule of this university.

But still, in the end, the much younger generation attained a seat through bribery.

Taking advantage of the situation, Albert decided to ask the person in question instead of the other instructors because it seemed they too had no idea how had a low-class boy like Ash gotten the chance to enter as a student.

Albert Walker.

One of the most influential people in the world. Being a relative of one of the decedents of founding members of the university, his arrogance was excessively extreme.

But it seemed today would be very different.

"Tell me boy, how are you able to get acceptance as a student? Or did you steal the uniform of our university? You do know right, it is a punishable crime by giving lifetime imprisonment! Are you even worthy to seat amongst these people?" Albert spoke in a haughty voice.

Every rich family knew each other. So it was not difficult to identify themselves even in a sea of crowds. After knowing Ash's background, It was no wonder they did not want to allow someone with an impoverished background to stand alongside them.

Ash scrutinized Jorge Horton with a calm expression who was seated on the second floor along with other influential guests. In return, Ash only received a contemptuous smile.

Without saying anything, shaking his head, he turned his gaze toward Albert who was getting impatient by the second.

"Headmaster Albert, you know there is a saying 'Arrogant men with knowledge make more noise from their mouth than making a sense from their mind.' I guess this quote perfectly complements this situation."

With a smile, Ash replied calmly without a care about what might happen because of his statement. His voice was as nonchalant as ever.

Hearing Ash's response Albert's expression got strange. He did not think this little boy would react in such a way instead of kneeling like he was supposed to.

The onlookers could not believe what they were watching. Even the top families around the world had to give proper respect while speaking to the headmasters of Terra Nova University.

"Such imprudence! How dare you brat? Do you realize who are you speaking to? You should have kneeled before talking."

But before Albert could retort, someone from behind replied.

It was a muscular man wearing an instructor's uniform, around the age of early 30s. This man's name was Gilbert Long who was a sport instructor.

"Sigh... How troublesome! That old man told me nothing of this sort would happen. But here I am dealing with some old fogies."

Ash was talking to himself while rubbing his forehead but his voice was loud enough for everyone to hear. The ridicule in his voice tone was as clear as the water.

Everyone was gasping in stupefaction the more they listen to Ash. But nobody reprimanded him. As all of them came up with some theories seeing Asher's carelessness.

Firstly, nobody wanted to rebuke when the instructors were speaking.

Secondly, they thought Asher might have a strong backup in the shadows, and he was doing all of this under the pretense of being poor to entrap them.

And when Ash said something about an unknown 'old man', they all seemed to accept the second reasoning.

In the meantime, the more Ash spoke the more bizarre the faces of the Horton family members became. They could not help but think if they had made a horrible mistake.
