Qi Yuan looked at Li, who had covered his face, sympathetically.

'What kind of thing placed you into such a horrifying nightmare that you have to live your life looking like that.'

"Listen Li...this is just a nightmare. Your face does not look like that. Nightmares are meant to make you scared and upset which is why you look like that." Qi Yuan tried to console Li,, who crouched into the fetal position.

"No,nononono! You don't get it! This is me! I am hideous!" Li wouldn't listen to Qi Yuan words and continued to criticise his existence.

"No it's not! In person, you look much more appealing, yea maybe not handsome but you are not ugly!" Qi Yuan stepped closer to Li but ready to divert his eyes in case Li looked at him. Even an experienced cultivator like him wouldn't want to be looked at with such a face, nightmare or not.

Before Li could answer, a figure with golden light around him appeared in front of Li. This golden figure looked to be around sixty years old, a stern but gentle face that was still quite handsome despite the wrinkles across his face. His gentle turquoise blue eyes stared at Qi Yuan with caution as he said "Stay away from my grandson!"

His voice boomed across the dream world, even pushing Qi Yuan back slightly. 'Who the hell is he!?'

Li finally looked up "Grandpa!"

The golden like figure looked back at Xuan Li with a gentle gaze and was clearly unaffected by Li's hideous appearance.

"Don't worry Li, I'll take care of it." The figure turned back to Qi Yuan with a cold glare "Stay away from my grandson!"

Qi Yuan couldn't believe what was going on! He came here to save Li but now he is the villain of the dream!

'Oh...I am going to have fun with the next experiment Li...you won't rest easily for causing me this much trouble' He thought with a mischievous smirk.

Honestly, Qi Yuan wasn't worried about having to deal with Xuan Li's grandfather. Who was he? A teacher belonging to the Ascension Academy! An individual that evolved his sword art by leaps and bounds that even the principle doesn't have full control of him. If he couldn't even deal with Li's dream, then he should just revoke his titles of sword saint and demon slayer.

Qi Yuan got into a battle stance, his right leg was outstretched, his right hand outward seemingly holding air and his Qi began to release.

"So you won't back down...fine!" Golden light burned brightly around Li's grandfather, pushing Qi Yuan further back.

As Qi Yuan regained his footing, the grandfather seemed to have disappeared but next moment a fist collided with Qi Yuan's right sided face!

He was sent flying by the punch but rolled to stabilise his landing.

'Fuck! He's so fast!'

As he got up, another fist was aiming right dead centre of his face but before it landed, Qi Yuan leaned back, successfully dodging the attack!

'Phew' He thought.

However, Li's grandfather turned out to be quite troublesome as he barraged Qi Yuan with kicks and punches at extreme speeds, forcing him to only dodge by sidestepping or ducking or using his incredible flexibility to move his body.

Even though he is being suppressed, Qi Yuan is doing fairly well considering that entering Li's dreamland, only a portion of his strength could be carried over.

So Qi Yuan currently has the power of a low rank tier 2 cultivator, which seriously limits the amount of techniques he could successfully perform. The only upside was that he was able to bring his sword which cannot be seen by others.

The grandfather stopped attacking and moved back to Li once Qi Yuan was far away from all the dodging.

"Hm, so as long as I am far away, I won't be attacked...okay...good" Qi Yuan relaxed his tensed body and looked over at the duo in the distance.

He had to come up with something or else he would lose against the grandfather. However, it was quite hard to think of something considering the distance between them. He was a swordsman in the first place and since he has been weakened further, he didn't really have the facilities to send a powerful long ranged Qi slash at the grandfather.

'If I can't beat Li's grandfather, I have to forcefully end the nightmare. Hopefully it will let Li sleep minus having any dreams tonight'

Now that Qi Yuan decided on what to do, he had to figure out how to actually end Li's dream without beating the grandfather.

Just as he was about to meditate to think of a solution, in the far distance the story of the dream continued!

The scenery changed once again, the ruined buildings returned and it could be seen Li on the edge of a balcony high up in the sky.

"Don't tell me!" Qi Yuan's eyes opened wide and he tried to rush over there to stop Li.

However, the grandfather appeared and proceeded to attack violently towards Qi Yuan while letting Li's nightmare continue.

"Your grandson is going to die! Move!" Qi Yuan shouted as he tried to forcefully break through.

However, the grandfather was just too fast and would keep him in place "You will not hurt my grandson!"

Seeing Li so close to the edge, on the verge of falling off, a lightbulb moment hit Qi Yuan 'I got it!'

As he dodged the grandfather's attack, he didn't move back but in circles so he could be at a closer distance to Li as he waited for the right moment.

The moment arrived soon after and Li jumped from the balcony and began to rapidly fall down. Seeing this, Qi Yuan jumped to avoid the grandfather's fist and positioned his leg to look like he was about to stomp the old man's face.

However, the old man wouldn't let someone hit his face so he quickly blocked it with his arms but Qi Yuan smirked as his feet landed onto his arms.

He injected all of his Qi onto his legs the next moment and used the old man's arms to propel him all the way to Li!

The force grounded the old man onto the ground for a brief moment, preventing himself from catching up to Qi Yuan, who was already too close to Li.

Qi Yuan grabbed onto Li and pressed his finger onto his forehead while he looked away "What would happen if you fell asleep during your nightmare? Lets see!"

He used some weird and unknown technique forcefully caused Li to fall asleep and shortly after the grandfather, who was about to grab Qi Yuan, vanished in golden light.

The buildings and scenery around them also started to vanish until only a black void remained.

"Hm, I hope this counts as having no nightmare for tonight" Qi Yuan briefed a sigh of relief as he saw Li's face changed from his hideous appearance.

'I knew his appearance was just from his nightmare...phew'
