Chapter - 07

After the little friendship formalities between me and that beautiful thing, we talked about a lot of stuff, including introductions, favourite food, hobbies and all. I get to know 'Its name is Ellis.

Ellis is 12 years old, and its gender is male. I also got to know many things about the Aekarus.

Aekarus are one of the 3 intelligent creatures living alongside humans in this world (there are two more creatures who can talk and behave like humans). Aekarus and humans speak the same language according to region. There are Aekarus spread all around the world except for a few places. There is a Village called Matenis in this forest, where a group of Aekarus live. It is Ellis's hometown. Aekaruses has a lifespan of 112 years. There are some results in history where 150 or 170 years old Aekarus were also found.

''You are my first friend so far. I didn't have any friends from my hometown. That's why I wanted to be your friend so desperately.'' – I exclaimed when things became pretty much silent.

''Me too. Since I'm discoloured, nobody talked to me.'' – Ellis said with a sad face. I caressed his back in a comforting way.

''It's a lot like my story.'' – I signed heavily. ''Why do you call yourself discolour? Your colour is so vibrant and ravishing. In fact, I love the purple colour and this shade is so beautiful.''

''Aekarus are mainly divided into two colours. Dark emerald green for females and light blue for males. Only the royal lady and its female babies are cotton white. My mother and father are also in green and blue colour as usual. Only I'm different. This caused a lot of trolls in my village. Nobody talked to me and avoided me at any cost since I looked like a threat to them. And when I became a bit older to take care of myself without any elder help, everyone signed a petition for me to leave the village Matenis.'' – Ellis said, feeling a bit ashamed, which I don't know why.

To be honest, I also thought Ellis could be a threat when I first saw him. But after knowing a lot about him and this place, Ellis doesn't actually look like a threat, at all. It doesn't have any bad intentions. I felt very bad as I listened to his sad voice.

''Ahh, Hannah, I wanted to ask you something. Why are you roaming here? There's no human village or town here. At least for a few miles.'' – Ellis asked me, certainly changing the topic. I, too, decided to drop these sensitive issues.

''Oh right. Actually, I'm a bit lost. I came here to… um'' – 'hell, what do I say now?' I tried to make up something, but nothing was coming up in my mind. I chewed my inner gum and thought intensively as I took a glance at Ellis. Ellis is confused with my words but didn't ask anything, waiting for me to give him the answer.

''Nana, right. I came to visit my grandmother, who lives in the town nearest to the forest. I actually don't know anything about this place. I came here without any preparation because Nana was so sick and couldn't wait to see me.'' – I finished with a long sigh.

'Well done Hannah. Who knew you were such a great liar.'

''If you don't mind, I can take you to the Omure town. It's the nearest to the forest'' – Ellis said with a concerned look.

''Why would I mind? Thank you very much for doing such a favour. I don't know how to repay your kindness.''

''No need to. I'll be grateful to be of any use to my one and only friend.'' – He said, and I gave it a huge grin, which it returned the same way. In the end, I finally got to have a chance to meet such a lovely friend in my whole life.
