Chapter Three: Angel’s POV: Fatal Decisions

Song Recommended: Breathe By Fleurie

Earth was everything Aural had never imagined. In all the stories she had been told and heard about heaven, she had never expected it to be so beautiful. Her wings soared in the night sky and she let her fingers spread apart so that she could feel it more.

She watched the lights sparkle brightly as she continued to fly above it. She enhanced the listening of her ears, focusing more on the sounds that she could hear from the earth instead of being distracted by the wind.

She could hear the sound of different kinds of music, music that she had never truly heard before as she was only accustomed to worship music.

She caught sounds of different beings, laughing and talking. All in different languages but because of who she was, she easily understood it. Angels were trained to understand every kind of language there was, there was never a limit towards it and she had to admit, that was one of the lessons she enjoyed.

Not being trained to just stick to a certain rule but being guided into a lesson that opened up doors to more possibilities. This was the lesson greatest victory, a lesson that opened doors and wouldn't turn useless later on. Aural wings turned right and she flew where she heard the loudest music.

As she drew closer to it, she could see the brightest aura's glow as they mixed with the warm lights. Her eyes landed on the biggest buildings she saw that didn't have much light and decided to land there. She covered up her presence and walked towards the lights.

Her nose finally caught the scent of the living, all were different and it made her want to know why they all smelled so different. A group of ladies bumped into her and she quickly apologized, not wanting to draw attention to herself.

But they just laughed and continued on their way, all with scents that were strong it made her slightly cringe.

They were dressed in skirts and dresses, clothes that revealed much of their skin and she wondered if this is how the earthly woman dressed. Did they reveal their bodies as easily as they made their choices? Was this common? Whilst she wondered this she bumped into another group of people, but they ignored her yet they were at least more covered than the group of women that she had seen.

She snapped her fingers, not wanting to be the odd one out nor draw attention to herself, and changed her appearance. She caught sight of herself and noticed that she was dressed in a white dress with a long slight on the sides. It revealed her right leg far too much and her shoulders were bare but at least her breast wasn't on display.

She continued to move through the gathered crowd, listening to the music and watching them. listening to a few of their conversations and moving along. She didn't see evil nor did she see the harm, in fact, all she saw was the living, living. They breathed, they spoke, they laughed, others cried and a few shouted. All different but all the room, being who they were,

It made Aural wonder, why had heaven seen the earth as such an unforgiving place and why were they all not allowed to easily mix with them. Aural watched as the living dance in a way she had never seen before. Many held each other in ways that she had never seen. She watched some man touch the woman in places that she knew were supposed to be forbidden.

Yet some woman easily smiled and welcomed it. Other women moved away and some reacted angrily. Yet easily the man moved to the next as though an easy task. Fascination ran through Aural as she welcomed this new observation, she wondered what was all of this.

The angels in heaven, both man and woman didn't touch each other in such a manner. The ones that showed affection were married but never had they showed such affection that matched earth manner. She could see why some things were frowned upon, she knew that that would have made her extremely uncomfortable.

She caught sight of a bright dark aura, one that seemed to overpower many of the light ones and she couldn't help herself. She followed it, wanting to see what it was and where it came from. In one of the lessons from heaven, the one thing they had been taught repeatedly was the different auras.

The dark aura represented the demons or the dark thoughts, thoughts that could lead to one losing their souls to damnation. The white auras that were bright were usually angels or pure thoughts or innocent lives. The living usually had their own, some were pink, which meant affection or love. The red meant danger or pain. The blue signified hope. The green signified peace.

There were too many but by default, she had to learn them.

In the lessons, they had to been taught that the darker the color, the more intense it is and instead of staying away. She watched it and followed, yet she was cautious to not be close enough to be discovered. It led her further away from the crowd, and deeper into the shadows.

She heard the knocking of fear once again but she paid no attention to it. She wanted to know what it was, as she drew close, she saw the aura turn from a deep black into a deep red. When she halted it was too late for her to run to avoid the noise that tugged at her heart.

It was a scream.

A loud one too. One she knew was from a female. The smell of fear and pain filled her nose. Her mind clouded itself with questions and when she drew closer, everything intensified. Something in her was telling her not to come closer but she couldn't stop herself and soon she found herself in a room.
