Song Recommended: Devil Like Me by Rainbow Kitten Surprise
The alarm was loud but it didn't bother her. She was already awake before it had even notified her that it was time to arise. She hadn't been able to sleep, wondering if he was really serious. Hoping that he would return because he had forgotten something but he didn't come back.
No matter how dark it got, she still watched the door, waiting and hoping.
A part of her praying.
But he didn't return and that was his decision. It brewed some kind of hate in her as she got up and shut her alarm. It brewed some kind of pain and she couldn't tell how to solve it or how to easily overlook it. Usually, she could deal with a feeling and disregard it but this time it seemed as though it had created a whole look-alike and stared back at her with a smirk.
It seemed to have jokes but she wasn't in the mood of watching it taunt her as though a devil. So she got up and got to cleaning herself. Making sure to follow what he had taught her when she arrived. She brushed her teeth for two minutes in circular movements, showered, and cleaned herself as best as she could from the videos she had to learn from.
She got dressed in the branded outfit and prepared herself breakfast as it was the easiest she had learned from him. A thought appeared in her mind and she instantly went where he kept his clothing but her heart dropped when she didn't see any of his clothes there.
She felt a tear escape and she quickly wiped it away.
The loneliness was too hard to adapt to. She admitted it to herself, she missed the man and hoped that she could have gotten to know him more. Rather than trying to adjust to what had happened to her.
"The world isn't easy when you left alone, huh?" She heard and instantly screamed, tripping on herself and falling harshly on her bottom. There was a laugh and she looked up with a scowl as she pushed herself up. "I love scaring them like this, it's so funny." The woman said.
And right before her was a view of the woman. Her lipstick bright red and her eyes seeming to glow a deep blue and tinge of white. As though a halo. "They call me Halo but my name is Hannah." She greeted as she reached her hand forward so that she could shake it and Aural hesitantly did.
"A-aural…" I stuttered, still shaken by how she had appeared without her acknowledgment. "Nice to meet you Aural. I can see you know how to dress, at least, so you saved me some time on helping you." She said with an approving look.
"I don't understand," Aural said, unsure how or why she would say that. "Angels usually snap their fingers together and boom the outfit is on them without work. But fallen angels can't risk doing that to ourselves as we never know how much power we have left. Or when it's going to suddenly disappear." Hannah explained as she took a seat close to the window.
"What do you mean by 'we'?" Aural asked, feeling curiosity coming over her. She laughed lightly and it felt like a sweet humming tune. "J never calls me for mere humans, he calls me for the fallen angels he finds. Usually, it's on the spot but for some reason, he kept you and aided you. He even gave you his apartment and asked me to sort you out. Until you can stand on your own two feet without being babied.
Which is something he never does, so tell me, whose child are you and don't tell me Him. We all know the truth.
Aural was shocked by the revelation and felt the urge to ask her more about who J was. If this was what he did, helping the fallen and suddenly disappearing. Contacting others whom he had previously helped and then letting them help the rest of us. She wanted to know who he was and if he had been one of the first fallen.
"No, he isn't. Nobody knows who he truly is, not even me, and I have known him for decades. All I know is that he never ages, just like us. Yet he has no gift except the sight to see us and aid us. Did he give you a weapon yet?" She asked. Aural nodded as she went and pulled out the box from where she had hidden it and carefully placed it in Hannah's hands and stepped away from her.
She snorted as she touched the box carefully and ran her fingers over it carefully. Aural noticed how her aura changed from a careful grey to a tint baby blue. Sadness. "When he first gave me my weapon, he said, 'count your blessing, you are a woman, one that can bear life and take it. Yet the curse is that many men will see you as nothing but a tool to use when they feel like it, with or without your consent.'
I hadn't listened to him and thought that he was being overdramatic but he wasn't. He knew how cruel this world was and I almost learned the hard way. When I came to this door banging, crying, not wanting my exhaustion to win from all the running and fighting I had done. He had just opened the door and said, 'choices and consequences.'
Now I never leave without my very own." She said as she opened the box and smiled. "He gave you pepper spray, a swiss knife, a taser, and a gun. He must have really liked you. Pepper sprays are used to help you get away, aim it at the eye of the target, and boom. Burns and blinds them for a good five maybe more minutes.
Swiss knife, make sure to stab or cut where ever you can. If you aim right, it will give you the advantage to run because they'll be too busy trying to stop the bleeding or better yet crying from the pain.
Then you get your taser, electrocute the person for a good moment, causing spasms with the bolts going through their body. The most amazing thing in the world I swear. Then you have my favorite. The gun, insert the magazine or clip in here." She said as she showed Aural, "Remove it from safety and then pull the trigger. Boom." She said.
And right there I saw her aura turn a bit red as though a desire to see someone bleed.
