But when she was sure there was nothing else. She moved forward and went around without coming too close to see who it was. A man… she reached forward to brush away his hair from his face as the rain had made it stick there and gasped at who it was.
The very being that had saved her on earth.
How did it get here?
She sneezed and felt her body shake again. Reminding her that she was not in the right position to just stare at him like this. So, she hurried to him and bent down. "Hey! Hey!" she called, as she tried to awaken him. "You need to wake up please!" she said as she tapped on his face repeatedly but he wasn't even moving.
"J!" she continued but it still didn't work. Knowing that she had no other choice, she bent down to tighten her hold on his hands and pulled him back. His body was heavy but she knew she had to use her entire body strength to make some progress. So the more she got closer to the biggest tree that was there, the more grateful she was.
Her body slightly gave up when she made it under the tree and moved to see if there was any brusies on him or something that had caused him to pass out. Fortunately, there were no wounds, no blood, nothing. It didn't make any sense, why would he just sleep in the middle of the forest where there was heavy rain and still not wake up.
She pushed him into a sitting position and balanced him, trying to see if there was something on his back. But still there was nothing. "J! You got to wake up! This isn't the place to rest!" She snapped but then the thunder rumbled and was joined by lightening. She held back a scream as the lightening struck a tree near by.
"J!" she screamed, she wouldn't be able to carry him at all and she knew it would be difficult to try. Yet no matter how many times she hit him or fought, he wouldn't wake up at all and it incredibly bothered her. What had happened to him? Had he fell into this realm and hit his head?
Had something caught up to him and drained his soul? She touched his forehead and felt the slight warmth despite the cold. No, he was still okay. He was still alive but what was going on. "J! Come on, get up, it's not safe where we are. The weather isn't normal and we could die!" She cried out to him.
She heard the thunder rumble again and then caught sight of the thunder strike another tree closer to them. This time striking a branch and causing it to fall closer to her. "J!" she screamed, beginning to feel the fear overwhelm her. No matter how angry she got and how tired she was of living, she wasn't ready for death and she defintly wasn't ready to die such a painful death.
She saw another lightening bolt come her way and she threw her body over J. Trying to protect him even though she could die. He had protected and helped her before. It was time she did the same thing.
It missed her and struck the root of the tree and a small passage opened up. Her eyebrows creased and she wiped away the rain drops that were blinding her. She pushed herself up and went to grab his hands so he could pull them both into the passage of the tree.
She hoped it was the type of passage that would be able to protect her and him. Not the kind that would hurt her or lead them more to destruction. Yet as she got closer to the passage door, she heard the angry thunder and lightening. When she looked up, she could see that this was the kind of bolt she wouldn't be able to dodge.
"J!" she screamed and suddenly she was pushed back into the passage. She rolled back and hit her head slightly on a hard surface. Placing her hand on head slowly, she groaned from the pain and pushed herself to crawl forward. Feeling drained and in too much pain.
She heard something close shut and she turned to see someone closing the passage. "No! No! Listen a friend of mine is out there." she said quickly as she tried to stand up and get to the passage door that she had just gotten through.
"They will be fine and he isn't dead. This part of the journey is yours and yours alone." The man said as he shut the door and instantly it disappeared as though it hadn't appeared in the first place. "You don't understand. That man has saved my life before and it wouldn't be right for me to save myself and not help him. It isn't right." She tried.
"Well in this case, I saved you, so you owe me the pleasure of aiding yourself. When the time is right, the door will open on its own. Plus its been a while since I saw the daughter Archangel Michael.
Last I had seen you, you were probably a few months old and now here you are. A woman and a fallen angel. I guess you took after your uncle and not your father." He chuckled and began to glide around the small home. She watched him comfortably grab two cups and move to a fridge for food.
"I usually travel from earth, then here and back. Whenever father summons me, I'm there within a snap and now I'm in this realm. When I heard that you were now a fallen angel, I couldn't believe my ears but now I see this and I realize that your purpose is more painful than others." He said as he begun to prepare something.
"What do you mean?" she asked as she watched him, "Who are you?"
"Who I am doesn't matter, the question is do you know the history of the source that you are about to discover?" He asked her as he placed food before her and a mug of coffee. The scent instantly relaxed her and she heard her stomach rumble. She hadn't eaten in days and had only nibbled on berries.
"Eat child when you leave here, you will need your strength." He said and instantly she devoured the food. She couldn't resist the meat and bread that laid before her. She couldn't resist the fact that her body needed it yet as soon as she was full and her body satisfied, everything began to go blurry and she certain parts of her body went numb.
Everything seemed to be around and she wondered had the man poisoned her. "There it goes, rest, you will need it for what you are about to see." She heard him say casually and instantly, she passed out.
