The harsh sound from the electrocardiograph echoed. The person on the operating table had left the world. Maggie had cried herself into unconsciousness, and Dr. Weston was anxiously pushing her for resuscitation.

Only Keyon, still in his kneeling posture, motionless, looking at the woman on the table. After staring at her for a few minutes, he picked up her delicate body and walked out.

Upon seeing this, Dr. Weston in the adjacent resuscitation room hurried forward to stop him. "Mr. Osborne," she said, "Ms. Barton's last wish was to be cremated immediately..."

Keyon, numb, glanced at her. "I know."

He lowered his head to gaze deeply at her pale face. "I just want to change her clothes," he said softly. His Alla's clothes had been stained with blood from his hands. Alla liked to look beautiful; she certainly wouldn't want to be cremated in such clothes.
